American healthcare industry is so convoluted and regulated that its very hard to even see where to begin dismantling the healthcare industrial complex without dramatically changing people's lives. How successful could a medical clinic be if somebody opened up shop, didn't take insurance and just took cash for a set visit or procedure? The profit incentive is with the insurance so nobody would want to compete, or they would be afraid to enter a territory that literally nobody is in. Doctors to start with are not open to new things and nobody would compete with price because everyone else is set in their ways. I know its easy for people here to say, abolish this or repeal that but there needs to be realistic steps to begin reseting this system so that the average American doesn't get hurt enough where it becomes a massively unpopular issue and labeled a failure to be never tried again.

At this point Trump is actively making good on his campaign promises and appears like he is trying to do more. At this point I think he's earned the benefit of the doubt and its worth waiting to see what happens.

Bro sorry to cut it to you like this but seems like you have early onset TDS. Basically nothing is good enough, everything sucks or you just can't admit he is doing something decent that we have all been wanting and essentially never thought was ever going to happen. These cuts are a step in the right direction. Imagine the MSM doomsday headlines if Trump actually did a deep cut that RPF would be extremely proud of. I believe that just like they want Tax Cuts 2.0, they'll also want budget cuts 2.0 and 3.0. You call these budget cuts, peanuts. Democrats also called the Tax cuts, crumbs.

The left needed a hero and Beto was it because he was so close to Ted Cruz in the polls. Those were "fck you Republicans" donations. Its good though because that $70MM+ could've been donated in actually winnable Dem races. Beto squandered his donations flooding Texas with very expensive yard signs. He will never see those numbers again.

He's calling it the "Nickel plan". I figured this was coming sometime next year so color me pleasantly surprised. I guess some here will (stupidly) say its all part of the Swamp plan to cut 5% in government to appease and control the conservative base?? Anybody? Bueller? I know he gets a lot of crap around here for not being a libertarian (excuse me while I laugh at anybody who expects it) but I also know Trump has the ego bigger than any past president. He doesn't want to be compared to Obama in anyway when he's done. It's not unreasonable to assume he would tackle spending and leave office with less debt than what Obama accrued.

I gotta admit, Beto came prepared and executed well this debate. Still, his socialist agenda is just not for the right state. This is Texas and Ted knows exactly what to say to secure his base.

You of anybody should understand those polls in the past and the average are now meaningless as all polls up until after Kavanaugh saga ended were operating under the presumption of democrat turn out surge. Now that the turnout is potentially even (slight dem edge), its pointless to be talking about the RCP average. Polls coming out after Kavanaugh show GOP voter turnout as high as democrats, now its all who actually shows up.

She doubled down and lost. How can any reasonable person get those results and still feel proud about releasing it? Not just her but how can people on her staff allow this blunder? Did nobody see this coming? It also shows how blatantly out of touch she is with her beloved Cherokee Nation.

If its that hard to find, sounds like a great business opportunity. Try the link I put up, there are some good links in there that point to associations. Actually no, Trump brings a lot of elected officials on stage, and it tends to be those that come from the state he is currently campaigning in. Aren't you supposed to know all of this??

I think you have to find a member group association and see if they have plans for their members. To be honest, there is nothing stopping all libertarians from associating and leveraging the group for a group plan pricing. The bigger the tent, the better the pricing. I also think this is only the beginning as most associations are stale. Try some of the links in here https://www.thebalance.com/membership-organizations-and-health-insurance-2645660

Lol so true. The left is scared AF over Kanye bringing flocks of black voters out of the plantation. If he really does open up his Adidas factory in inner city Chicago, progressive agenda is done. They were talking about the opportunity zones in the oval. Once wealthy people see that you can help people, get a great reputation, align with Trump and/or Kanye, and save on capital gains, they will also want to invest in economically depressed regions.

Lol, "moving away from liberty". Don't forget, the liberty movement (and I'm only really calling it a movement for old times sake) has virtue signaling too, except nobody really hears it since barely anybody cares about what we have to say now. Have you joined the TDS resistance in their rage-a-thon protests? They have the red flag raised all day.

Yea Trump makes donations far and wide, to anybody in power. Its no surprise if you want to play with the big boys in hot real estate markets. As if donating to politicians to get favorability makes you not a good business person. At this point, do you even know what you're arguing for anymore? To recap, you said Trump was unprincipled, to which I agreed with you and added that is driven by self-interest and legacy and is a good businessman in the general sense. (I don't think anybody here will question the idea that Trump is successful at branding and starting and finishing large projects, even considering his inheritance). Then you brought up how he donates and that makes him not a good business person, which is not really even a relevant point, and feels more like changing the topic than anything else. Also feel like so you don't want to admit that your view is about being lazy and wanting to complain over doing something realistic and with trackable progress. Don't forget there are libertarians working in this administration and they get to influence policy of a sitting POTUS.

Nobody (with a brain) here actually believes these tariffs are permanent. Nobody here actually thought Obamacare could be repealed, and it still isn't. Only the mandate is dead. I'll take temporary tariffs with a near certainty of net lower tariffs in the end, over Obamacare + individual mandate, forever.

Thats exactly the point. Why does anybody here even pretend that this guy is trying to be a libertarian? He couldn't give a rats ass about the label. However he has an ego and wants to succeed and leave a legacy. He is motivated to do well and fortunately as a businessman, he knows libertarian policies work and has brought on people with those ideas. Sure the Trump administration is not a Ron Paul convention but anybody who expects that much is obviously delusional and does not know how to set expectations for themselves. If you want the right policy, influence it, there are a ton of ways, you're a capitalist, get innovative. How much influence do you think is wielded complaining on RPF that is literally read by the few of us left that still like RP? Trump gives no shts about the purist libertarian complaints, no shts at all. But he does care what Rand has to say every once in a while and looks at Rand's ideas with serious consideration. All the while the purists give him sht day and night for not Libertarianism'ing hard enough. God its pathetic.

The guy is just being passionate. He's obviously not deep state?? And paid? Come on, his Yeezy brand is already worth north of a billion dollars. The only ulterior motive here is that he has presidential ambitions and is doing a good job at gaining favorability with conservatives by doing this.

How childish. I hope mods take notice of this new member who cannot play nice to save his own life. And on the topic of Stop and Frisk. Kanye's statements today show pretty clearly that Trump is fluid in his decision making. Trump is not a libertarian nor should any of us here pretend that he sold himself as being one. He goes with whatever the best idea can be presented to him. The entire premise of his thread that Trump = evil because he brought up stop and frisk, instantly had his mind changed by a rapper, saying he had an open mind about it. Isn't that quite the opposite of what the purists were blabbing about in this thread? This is the best chance for libertarianism to be influenced onto a president. There are ways to lobby for a view to present him but the purist libertarians are too lazy to do anything about it. Rand is doing it and doing a great job, but the liberty grassroots or whatever is left of it, is so sour and disheartened, we can't get anything done except moan and complain. Theres your tireless minority folks. The Remnant, as we once called it.

Haley was about to go under ethics investigation so very likely she was trying to get ahead of the investigation by stepping down. She has higher aspirations and is probably a proxy for the Bush family.

Nono, I'm sorry but you're not thinking like a military strategist. Waiting for outcomes to happen and then saying, "oh I told you so" does not make you a critical thinker. Saying Ginsberg will retire does not make you a critical thinker. You said Rand would win and squash the conservative movement, that didn't happen. Making shotgun guesses at what could happen in the future and then bragging about being right and credit your military strategery thinking because one of your predictions came true, does not make you special. More than likely it makes you delusional. You throw one knife at a target and your chances of hitting it are low. Throw 20 and your chances are much higher. Sorry, you're not operating at a higher intellectual level than anybody else here on RPF who have spent the last decade obsessing over the shadow government.
