No injuries were reported, but photos show that many cars were destroyed. On Tuesday, police said they had arrested a 16-year-old and 21-year-old in relation to Monday’s attacks and planned to detain more suspects over the course of the day. But when it comes to intentionally setting fire to cars, said Manne Gerell, a lecturer in criminology at Sweden’s Malmo University, such incidents have increased “big-time” over the past couple decades — but not in the past two or so years. Across Sweden, he said, about 1,500 cars are burned each year. The reasons can include insurance fraud, hiding other crimes, social unrest and “random youth vandalism,” he said. In 2013, days of riots broke out in the capital of Stockholm after police were accused of brutality for shooting and killing a 69-year-old man who was holding a machete. For days, rioters burned cars and buildings, including at least one school. They also threw rocks at police.

 Is there such a thing as a reasonable search? I see this as comparable to the old airport methods of using X-Ray conveyor belts or Metal Detection, except this might be even faster and hopefully more accurate. Should the 4th Amendment block those methods as well?

Does choice factor in? You don't have to take the Subway. You could just decide to drive. Also, at a glance on Google, this Subway seems to be a Public/Private partnership. If someone is entering a Private Subway train, does the owner of the train have a right to secure it as long as people are aware of it upfront? They can just decline and sit in traffic?

I agree with asurfaholic that killing the messenger is wrong. This was apparently because the guy didn't like being nagged by the city to clean up his yard. I don't have sympathy for this guy if he murdered someone because he couldn't be bothered to weed his yard. https://apnews.com/bde88b80d72147859f5d6a7a4d621ef2

Kinda of weird they want to only process and ship from Australia instead of building these plants in say places like Japan, unless there is just not plentiful Clean Energy like Solar or Wind like in the Outback. Then again, if the fuel is easily attainable this way, maybe it doesn't matter and they're content to load up ships with this Ammonia stuff as well as provide Hydrogen fuel to power the ships. It would be really silly if they make a big deal out of this and ship this Ammonia on conventional ships which I guess probably run on Diesel?

Nobody knows anything when quizzed randomly in these Man on the Street style interviews. They're just a comical way to mess with people caught unprepared for whatever the topic is. A few got 3 which seemed okay. If some random dude with a camera crew showed up at my workplace interrupting me with a political quiz like this, I'd probably get 2 or 3.

I never listen to the radio. At work, I'm more likely to stream Pandora. Also, while I agree with this guy at the end that amazing music is still produced by more independent bands, I'm not sure if the outlook for them is totally bleak. No doubt, it has been hard, but some of these modern bands are adapting and trying to bypass the big Record Labels. Sadly, I think he is right about many uses of electronics reducing Timbre. I have listened to different versions of music by KRAFTWERK and I think their goal was to create electronic music with great depth. I think a few modern bands like Ladytron or Apparat Organ Quartet have tried to take inspiration from this. Once in a while, a sympathetic movie producer or director can try promoting different acts through their film scores. I think the first Matrix was able to do this and more recently Daft Punk in TRON: Legacy or M83 in OBLIVION. I think Emancipator is an interesting take on modern electronics. It is some drum machine with some mixups for variety plus including a violinist who provides the Hooks. The also tour as a bigger group Emancipator Ensemble.

I've also been hit by someone running a Red Light. I got off lucky, they just demolished the front of my Pontiac and I was just shook up.

It's held to a higher standard all around between government, trucking companies, their insurance companies, and the public. In terms to Stop Lights, it's not a big deal to me because I can't dart out into intersections quickly. I wait until the green because the lights ensure it is clear for me to hit the throttle and start working slowly up through gears and get up to speed. The other factor of course is what is in the trailer and how heavy it is.

It's not always clear it's safe here. By that I mean we have a curvy road going through our downtown and it's not as easy to tell when traffic might be coming around the corner with building blocking the view. Another factor is maybe I'm a pokey driver with overly cautious habits from driving 18 Wheelers. Also like I said, my license is my livelihood.

I strictly obey the lights because I'm a Commercial Truck Driver and I want to keep my license clean of points. Also, I guess it's not that big a deal IMO to just wait and the lights in my town don't take very long to change anyway. Also, I work 2nd shift so by the time I head home, the lights are blinking in 4 way stop mode anyway.

On the plane you need to just inform these people that in order to make them as welcome as possible America has done an amazing thing for them and built an exact replica of their home land in the USA. Then just turn the plane around and send them back.

This Forbes article tries to sort this out. Apparently, labor over there has enough bargaining agreements. If they worked things out this way making minimum wage unnecessary, that's great. They break it down to say Danes effectively can expect a minimum equivalent to $11.70. That's still better than I was doing a few years ago at Walmart making just under $10. Forbes also cautions against a hike to $15. I do agree with them that a sudden hike to $15 would be chaos. https://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2015/08/12/denmark-does-not-have-a-20-minimum-wage-try-11-70-instead/#595b49777814

Is there a Climate Correlation? It seems like the South or Bible Belt has issues with crime rates. Some say violent crime tends to rise when we start getting into the hot summer. Also, Alabama seems to be the most religious state as well as getting some of the most dangerous weather from Tornadoes, some Hurricanes, or regular Tropical Storms. https://weather.com/storms/tornado/news/2018-05-01-violent-tornado-states Oklahoma has had the most violent tornadoes since 1950 with 65. Rounding out the top five states are Texas (52), Iowa (51), Kansas (49) and Alabama (42). These states also lead the way when just examining EF5/F5 rated tornadoes since 1950. Alabama and Oklahoma have had seven "5-rated" tornadoes, followed closely by Texas, Iowa and Kansas with six such tornadoes each.

I try to be a mentor and avoid lecturing people if they have questions about something I know about. It's common I think for people to lord their knowledge over others or be impatient with them. I'm also disappointed when I see veterans of any industry have an arrogant attitude or be dismissive toward 'Rookies'. I've been around them and many times their favorite topic is about how they see beginners as clueless. So, I try to remember what it was like to be a beginner and how intimidating it can be to learn a new skill, especially with impatient teachers. Also, my requires attention to Safety which is why I want to help beginners unlock many older guys I see who'd like to mock them for their mistakes.

The system is flawed and easily gamed by the dominant parties. The media is mostly lazy and complicit. Their contribution is letting debate become a spectacle.
