I believe real,, and I look forward to conversation with him. I was in the Book and the Book was in my life,, for several years.. Lessons learned are priceless. and have forced revisions to the way I look at things. Helped me understand and accept the WHY of things. The first time I read it,,, Jobs friends seemed to make some valid points. and I heard echos of those same points in people from my life. I have read it enough to hear the folly in their voices now. God rebuked them..and Job prayed for them.

Not about this, no. A bunch of Bolshevik scientists predicting doomsday...yawn...what else is new. If humanity gets wiped out, it will be with whimper not a bang. Some new airborne plague, most likely weaponized by us, is what will do us in.

Job was a living man who God had a wall of protection around, and Satan told God you take that wall of protection away from Job, he would break Job's will and turn against God. God knew Satan wouldn't do that because Job was strong in his faith and love of God. (Job 1) These trials and tribulations went on for 38 chapters and Job never caved-in, just as God told Satan, and God rewarded Job with double for his unwavering faith to God. Job 42:10 (KJV) 10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Job 42:12 (KJV) 12 So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning:

Unlike most commentators and reporters, I have read most of the Pennsylvania grand jury report. The purpose of this statement is to debunk many of the myths, and indeed lies, that mar the report and/or interpretations of it. Myth: Over 300 priests were found guilty of preying on youngsters in Pennsylvania. Fact: No one was found guilty of anything. Yet that didn't stop CBS from saying "300 'predator priests' abused more than 1,000 children over a period of 70 years." These are all accusations, most of which were never verified by either the grand jury or the dioceses. The report, and CBS, are also wrong to say that all of the accused are priests. In fact, some were brothers, some were deacons, and some were seminarians. How many of the 300 were probably guilty? Maybe half. My reasoning? The 2004 report by the John Jay College for Criminal Justice found that 4 percent of priests nationwide had a credible accusation made against them between 1950-2002. That is the figure everyone quotes. But the report also notes that roughly half that number were substantiated. If that is a reliable measure, the 300 figure drops to around 150. During the seven decades under investigation by the grand jury, there were over 5,000 priests serving in Pennsylvania(this includes two dioceses not covered in the report). Therefore, the percent of priests who had an accusation made against them is quite small, offering a much different picture than what the media afford. And remember, most of these accusations were never substantiated. Importantly, in almost all cases, the accused named in the report was never afforded the right to rebut the charges. That is because the report was investigative, not evidentiary, though the report's summary suggests that it is authoritative. It manifestly is not. The report covers accusations extending back to World War II. Almost all the accused are either dead or have been thrown out of the priesthood. For example, in the Diocese of Harrisburg, 71 persons are named: 42 are dead and four are missing. Most of those who are still alive are no longer in ministry. There are some cases that are so old that they are unbelievable. Consider the case of Father Joseph M. Ganter. Born in 1892, he was accused in 2008 by an 80-year-old man of abusing him in the 1930s.

The leader of a close US ally is turning to rival Russia for submarines, arguing that if his country were to buy American submarines, they would probably "implode." President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte lashed out Friday after the US warned the Philippines against purchasing Russian Kilo-class diesel-electric submarines. He accused the US of selling its ally only hand-me-down weapons that endanger the lives of Filipino troops, according to local outlet Rappler. "Why did you not stop the other countries in Asia? Why are you stopping us? Who are you to warn us?" Duterte asked Friday at an event in his hometown of Davao."You give us submarines, it will implode." He asserted that the US sent his country "used" and "rusted" North Atlantic Treaty Organization helicopters, claiming the poor condition of the platforms led to the deaths of local forces. "Is that the way you treat an ally and you want us to stay with you for all time?" he asked. "You want us to remain backwards. Vietnam has 7 submarines, Malaysia has 2, Indonesia has 8. We alone don't have one. You haven't given us any." Duterte's latest outburst was triggered by a warning issued Thursday by Randall Schriver, the US Department of Defense Assistant Secretary for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs. "I think they should think very carefully about that," he said, referring to the Philippine government's interest in acquiring Russian submarines. "If they were to proceed with purchasing major Russian equipment, I don't think that's a helpful thing to do alliance, and I think ultimately we can be a better partner than the Russians can be." As the world focuses on the crisis facing Turkey's lira, the Turkish part of Cyprus faces an arguably worse situation that is not of its own making. The self-declared Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is heavily reliant on "big brother" Turkey due to its political and economic isolation from the rest of the world, a result of its official break from the Greek Cypriot south in 1983. The Turkish third of the eastern Mediterranean island uses the lira for day-to-day business but many items such as cars and electronic goods, as well as property costs, are priced in foreign currency - leaving the territory's 300,000 inhabitants facing a greater threat from fluctuations than those in Turkey. By using the lira, TRNC, which had a trade deficit of $1.67bn last year, is deprived of many of the vital economic tools - such as raising interest rates - that could help it keep down the cost of living. "They say that when Turkey catches a cold, northern Cyprus gets a fever," said Fiona Mullen, an economic consultant based on the island. The Turkish Cypriot authorities are looking to Ankara to take the lead in recovery efforts. This week, President Mustafa Akinci and Prime Minister Tufan Erhurman met Binali Yildirim, Turkey's parliamentary speaker and former prime minister, during his visit to the island. According to official broadcaster BRT, Yildirim assured them the Turkish government was doing everything to deal with the crisis.

Israeli forces have shut down the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound following an alleged stabbing attempt by a Palestinian on a group of Israeli policemen in Jerusalem's Old City. The attacker, a 30-year-old Palestinian citizen of Israel from the town of Umm al-Faham, was shot dead by the Israeli forces, police said in a statement on Friday. No other casualties were reported. According to local Palestinian media, worshipers were forcibly removed out of the compound by Israeli police and soldiers, who then proceeded to shut down the gates to the Old City. The White House budget office believes it has found a way to cancel about $3 billion in foreign aid even if it is never approved by Congress, according to a Republican aide familiar with the plan. Using an obscure budget rule, administration officials are planning to freeze billions of dollars in the State Department’s international assistance budget — just long enough so the funds will expire. The current plan involves about $3 billion, though officials are said to have discussed as much as $5 billion. The White House plans to submit the package of so-called rescissions in the coming days, which triggers an automatic freeze on those funds for 45 days. The cuts would largely come from the U.S. funding for the United Nations, according to the aide. With exactly 45 days left in fiscal 2018, the State Department wouldn't be able to use those funds even if Congress rejects the request because those dollars will have expired by Oct. 1. Broadband providers have spent years lobbying against utility-style regulations that protect consumers from high prices and bad service. But now, broadband lobby groups are arguing that Internet service is similar to utilities such as electricity, gas distribution, roads, and water and sewer networks. In the providers' view, the essential nature of broadband doesn't require more regulation to protect consumers. Instead, they argue that broadband's utility-like status is reason for the government to give ISPs more money. That's the argument made by trade groups USTelecom and NTCA—The Rural Broadband Association. USTelecom represents telcos including AT&T, Verizon, and CenturyLink, while NTCA represents nearly 850 small ISPs. "Like electricity, broadband is essential to every American," USTelecom CEO Jonathan Spalter and NTCA CEO Shirley Bloomfield wrote Monday in an op-ed for The Topeka Capital-Journal. "Yet US broadband infrastructure has been financed largely by the private sector without assurance that such costs can be recovered through increased consumer rates." ISPs want benefits but not responsibilities While ISPs want the benefits of being treated like utilities—such as pole attachment rights and access to public rights-of-way—they oppose traditional utility-style obligations such as regulated prices and deployment to all Americans. The industry's main arguments against net neutrality and other common carrier regulations were that broadband shouldn't be treated as a utility and that the broadband market is too competitive to justify strict regulations. "Utility regulation over broadband can only inhibit incentives for network investment," AT&T warned in November 2017. Industry groups have also tried to stop cities and towns from building their own networks, saying that the government shouldn't compete against private companies. Telecom-friendly legislatures have passed about 20 state laws restricting the growth of municipal broadband. Despite the industry's fight against municipal networks, Spalter and Bloomfield wrote that the "private-led investment model" only works well in "reasonably populous areas." In rural parts of America, "the private sector can't go it alone," they wrote.

Democratic lawmakers in Sacramento are moving quickly on legislation to overturn a court ruling that would require the state to use $331 million to aid homeowners hit with foreclosures, money from a nationwide settlement with banks accused of abusive foreclosure practices. A state appeals court in Sacramento ruled last month that Gov. Jerry Brown had wrongly used the $331 million to pay off deficits of state agencies that handle state housing bonds and consumer programs. The money for Brown’s actions has been appropriated for three years, each time with legislative approval, but the court said the administration had violated a 2012 state law directing use of funds from the mortgage settlement. The ruling said the state must spend the funds on programs directly assisting foreclosed homeowners. This week, however, legislative Democrats rewrote two budget-related bills and moved them through fiscal committees in both houses on party-line votes. Both bills declare that Brown had properly cleared his funding decisions with the Legislature and had complied with the 2012 state law by using the money to bail out state agencies overseeing housing and consumer services. A lawyer for the organizations that challenged the state’s use of the funds, led by the National Asian American Coalition, promised another legal battle if the legislation passes. Even if the Legislature “attempts to somehow retroactively endorse” the state’s past use of the funds, “those actions were still illegal, and the governor remains under an obligation to use the National Mortgage Settlement Funds as the appellate court found they were intended — to help struggling homeowners,” said attorney Neil Barofsky.

Revival of the German Military Service?Until 2011, Germany had a national military service of six-to-nine months length, which could either be done in the military or replaced by civilian service. Criticized as unnecessary, too expensive, or unfair, the service was put in abeyance in July 2011. However, a recent poll suggests that a majority of Germans support the idea of some kind of national service (though there is no majority for reintroducing the old 'Wehrdienst'). In Germany, this debate is in its early stages. But elsewhere in Europe, such as in Sweden and France, conscription has already been reintroduced in different forms. A German Bomb? The debate on a German nuclear bomb was started by a front-page article in the Welt on 29 July, written by German political science professor Christian Hacke. He argued that, as the U.S. under Donald Trump is becoming an increasingly unreliable partner, Germany needs to consider guaranteeing its own nuclear deterrence. He is not the first to argue this point; when Trump was elected in 2016, the editor of the biggest conservative newspaper in Germany had made a similar argument, and a Member of Parliament asked the parliamentary research service to look into options for Germany to share France's or the United Kingdom's nuclear weapons. I have major problems with Pope Francis. Major concerns. This particular issue however is being overblown I think. He is actually giving a more nuanced and correct translation of the original Greek. Funny how so many people are jumping up and down about this, when one can pick up many modern English translations of the Bible and you find varying translations for words and phrases. The problem has to do with language in itself and the difficulty in correctly expressing at times what the original meaning in the original Greek meant. 1 Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. God is almighty - He keeps the devil from tempting and allows also the devil to tempt. God doesn't do the tempting, but allows the Devil to do the tempting.. ala The Book of Job. Why does He allow this? Because in His great wisdom it can be a pedagogic experience for us, and may strengthen one, just as a contaminated metal is purified and strengthened when placed in a fire. God allows these temptations to happen by the devil so that like atheletes we may be be trained and prepared for when the most difficult trials occur (usually right after we die, when we are accused by the demons for the sins we have done and must pass through the spirits in the air who fight to drag us into the pit.).

Germany will soon send back migrants to Greece if they had already applied for asylum there. The two countries made the deal at the behest of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, whose coalition government is on shaky ground due to increased opposition to her immigration policies. “EU law states that refugees should apply for asylum in the first EU country they reach, but Germany has typically allowed newcomers with open applications elsewhere to reside in the country as it examines their claim,” reported the Wall Street Journal. “In practice, very few ever leave Germany, even if they fail to obtain asylum there.” More at: https://europe.infowars.com/germany-returns-migrants-to-greece/

POLICE in China have stormed a Christian summer camp for young people as Beijing continues its heavy-handed crackdown against the faith. Officers shut down the week-long youth retreat in the northern Gansu province and ordered two parish priests who were running the event to return home. Around 80 children aged between 10 and 14 were taking part in the event in the city of Tianjin when police raided the campsite, Catholic news agency UCAN reports. After police arrived, the summer camp's two organisers were accused of holding an illegal Christian event and escorted from the campsite, according to UCAN. Officials in Tianjin then requested two state-approved priests be dispatched from the government-controlled Catholic Church agency to take over the retreat. A source told UCAN: "There are people in the government who want to break the current situation. "They do not allow the underground church to exist and must convert it to be open." The closure of the camp comes as Beijing continues its attempts to suppress the Christian faith.

INDONESIA has been savaged by another huge earthquake as Raba suffered a 6.6 magnitude tremor that could also be felt 416 miles away in Bali. Earthquake watchdog the US Geological Survey confirmed the mammoth quake hit the northwest Indonesian city that lies on the island of Sumbawa moments ago. Social media users swarmed the internet to declare their safety and share locations where the earthquake - another in a series of devastating natural disasters - hit the cluster of islands. Tim Andrew said two minutes after the quake rocked the region: “Yep, felt it here in Bali.” Lee Nallalingham added: “Felt here in Bali - no tsunami warning issued.” The newest quake to hit the region at 11.15pm local time comes two weeks after the August 5 magnitude 7 quake that has so far claimed the lives of more than 460 people. More than 7,750 were injured as the quake laid some 70,000 homes to waste on the popular tourist island with hospitals, clinics, schools, bridges and office blocks also damaged having struck six miles underground.
