Yes, like GWB abandoning free market principles to save the free market? :unamused: Violating the 2nd Amendment is not protecting our gun rights. And nominating SCOTUS justices that actively abridge our rights doesn't help either. You are confused.

I know my ancestry thingy said I'm a little bit injun. (Probably related to uncle @oyarde somehow) I'll have to dig into my family tree to find the specifics one day. But lol @ Pocohantas Warren. :D https://www.cherokee.org/News/Stories/20181015_Cherokee-Nation-responds-to-Senator-Warrens-DNA-test TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. issued the following statement Monday in response to Senator Elizabeth Warren’s DNA test claiming Native Heritage: "A DNA test is useless to determine tribal citizenship. Current DNA tests do not even distinguish whether a person’s ancestors were indigenous to North or South America," Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. said. "Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation. Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong. It makes a mockery out of DNA tests and its legitimate uses while also dishonoring legitimate tribal governments and their citizens, whose ancestors are well documented and whose heritage is proven. Senator Warren is undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage." Cherokee Nation News Release For Media Inquiries: Julie Hubbard 918-207-3896

Duckies, what if DJT has to resign and we are stuck with POTUS PENCE for at least a year and a half, assuming the Democrats control either the Senate or the House and somehow cut the deal that brings about a most HUMILIATING impeachment trial in 2919? What would we ever fight over if Pence's advocates try to convert the rest of us to public displays of our completely private religious affiliations and attitudes? Duckies, let's look at how things can get more bollixed up, namely, after being exposed as a total idiot, Donald John Trump is humiliated out of public life into early retirement! I think the Democrats want to impeach him becuz it gives a goodly number of members of Congress FREE PUBLICITY all through the

Uh no, in the beginning he very likely had the power to force Trump to pick someone else. And it wouldn't have been worse... on the 4th Amendment there is no one worse than Kavanaugh.

Well he has voted for gun control multiple times. He has voted for Kavanaugh and Pompeo. He has supported Mitch. He has voted for sanctions. I didn't say that he was identical to the others, I said he was becoming more and more like the others, which is a true statement.

I think "pay up or shut up" is her debate tactic. She's assuming Hillary folds in 2020 and does not up the ante in order to debate DJT all over again. One of the Republicans had an attack ad with the bumper sticker LIZ 4 PREZ and maybe this is not the brightest idea. Most Democrats up here expect her to POTUS run. Mr.Bernie does not have things sewn up. She just positioned herself...

Your words. There is no difference period. Trump tried for legislation to ban semi-autos and failing that attempted to do the next best thing which was gun control by executive order. The difference is that Obama wasn't smart enough of a gun grabber to think of that.

If Rand does basically a repeat of his short and quick 2016 performance, if he plunges into a short string of very early Republican debates and is EXTREMELY polite, in order to frame the dialogue and issues, could DJT ever forgive him? Assuming DJT survives a flipped Senate & an almost flipped House, of course! My advice is that he run against POTUS Pence. Trump I think has more than a 50/50 risk of an impeachment trial, yet a hammerlock on the GOP nomination is not a "done deal" as we go to the wire in terms of a RED or BLUE Wave (bigly?) hitting in early November!!!

*Sigh* Take a deep breath. This shows why partisan politics, and even personality politics is toxic. Criminal justice reform is an unqualified good thing. We're not talking about "muh roads" or "muh healthcare" or even "muh border wall." We're talking about reducing the harm that government has already caused. That should be encouraged by people of good will, democrats and republicans. That was making its way through congress. I doubt that will happen this year, in large part because the democrats and the media have made the political environment so toxic. Now you might say "Well what about Trump's toxicity?" Well...what about it? I'm expecting that. The man is an ass. But democrats and republicans could have just ignored the man on this one issue, got it done and let him sign it. As for the drug war? I haven't seen Trump attempt to rollback any of the gains recently made in undoing it. Yes Jeff Sessions is a hard core drug warrior. I wish Jeff Sessions wasn't attorney general. Trump seems to feel the same, but can't fire him because it would look like he was doing it out of spite for Jeff recusing himself on the Russia probe. I saw the picture of the Al Awlawki girl. Yes that was tragic. Obama killed her dad and brother with drone strikes. Obama also bombed the "Doctors Without Borders" in Afghanistan. I'm against Trump when he is wrong (which is often) and was against Obama when he was wrong (which is often). When Obama rarely did something right I actually gave him due credit for doing that.

Well I'm not on your list of "mentions." And I don't personally recall calling you any of that. (Which I guess is why you didn't call me out). And I am 100% fine with supporting Trump when he does something that's actually pro liberty or non interventionist like reaching out to North Korea or attempting to roll back the so called affordable care act. And you have not been one of those making excuses for Trump on the 2nd amendment. That said, I don't personally believe that expanding police powers in the so constitution free zone that is our border or building a wall is good for liberty. I understand your reasoning on that, I just disagree with it.

You are correct - my apologies. My eyes pooched. And precisely because it is "eternal within humanity", you will never eliminate it, at least as things now stand. I will also point out that in the grander scheme of human history, such occurrences do not appear to have been any more frequent than what we find today, which should be instructive. Central control is always injurious of individual rights. That too, is eternal within humanity. At least when non-government injures you, you are left with some recourse short of lighting off a civil war. That is virtually never the case with "government", which is the biggest, meanest, most heartlessly corrupt of all mobs. Seriously pal, which would you prefer, a huge "government" mob or smaller local ones that may be "corrected" far more readily?

Being non-interventionist != being totally against any military actions ever. Ron Paul supported going after Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. Bombing daesh, a terrorist regime with no legitimacy, is no different. And note I'm not a Trump fan. The truth is that Obama was leaving daesh alone and going after Assad. Horrible, horrible strategy if you are actually against Islamic terrorism.

You cannot give Reputation to the same post twice. 1) Chuck Baldwin is awesome and that further solidifies that Ron Paul did the right thing to support him over Bob Barr when he dropped out in 2008. 2) Thank you for posting that. I knew the situation was bad, but I did not know how bad. 3) Prior to being elected, when some of us pointed out that Trump wrote in his 2002 book The America We Deserve that he supported a new assault weapons ban, Trump humpers were all like "He can change his mind." Now, after being elected, Trump stumps for assault weapons bans and Trump humpers are like "Well he's trying to do it by executive order so that makes it better because it can more easily be overturned" even though the truth is Trump is backing BOTH executive action AND legislation to restrict gun rights. I support the Trump tax cuts, reaching out to North Korea, and ending the regime change/confront Russia policy in Syria. That's....that's about it.

I agree. I just wish people would quit acting like Trump is a republican. He's not. He never was. He's a wolf in sheep's clothes. And there is no excuse for what HE is doing on the 2nd amendment front. Yes the republicans in state houses are doing a bang up job protecting gun rights. On the federal level...not so much. At the presidential level....he's working for the other side. And he always has.
