In a manner of speaking, yes. I will not explain on a public forum what I mean by that, but I do not say it flippantly. Yes to both. My degree is computer (hardware) engineering , (I do CPU design in my day-job). I have an amateur radio license (I have to renew it this year actually) and have toyed with radios for about 30 years now. Because the problems that people have are just veiled spiritual problems. Treating the non-spiritual problems while neglecting the spiritual problems is treating the symptoms, while ignoring the root-cause of the disease. Of course, if you have a headache, you take a headache-pill, but you can also pray about it. These are not mutually exclusive courses of action. As for the religion-vs-science argument, I'd rather not get into it, but if you must, feel free to pitch all the usual arguments at me so I can swat them down.

I have not experienced any of the phenomena you have described here... but let's just say, I do have a frame of reference to understand it (and far weirder) and leave it at that. Today, those words are used as generic labels for any social pariah. There are real disorders of body and mind, and it sounds like you are potentially suffering from both mind-body disorders, as well as something else. Your senses should be reliable and you should not be seeing something you cannot touch, or vice-versa. I am not questioning or doubting your verbal report, simply stating a normative fact about the world, that is, a fact about how the world and your body ought to be functioning. (That there are normative facts is something modern science does not comprehend.) Those two don't go together. There is something wrong with you -- but please don't take that in the usual way. The hint is in the word "disease" which, in English, can also be read "unease" -- a disease is any condition which puts you not-at-ease. No creature made in the image of God should be undergoing a daily mental hell, under any pretext whatsoever.

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. (Proverbs 19:21) Has not the Lord Almighty determined that the people’s labor is only fuel for the fire, that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing? (Habakkuk 2:13)

They already do -- Facebook is not reachable from China (regardless of DNS).

The official explanation: ... they go on to explain that automated BGP updates spread the non-presence of facebook's DNS info throughout the global DNS, bringing down DNS resolution of facebook (which technically doesn't take Facebook offline, but also practically blocks most non-technical users). I would like to emphasize that this is an awfully convenient cover story, like, if you were to explain a DNS cyber-attack without calling it a cyber-attack, this is exactly what the explanation would go like. So, who knows what really happened, but nearly 6 hours of global DNS blackout over a "whoopsie-daisy" just... isn't believable to me. Tech companies at Facebook's scale have on-site UPS + diesel backup generators ready to spool up on a moment's notice (I know this firsthand), 24x7 support staff who deal with local outages all over the world on a daily basis, and regularly perform fire-drills for emergencies just like this. The least believable explanation to me is a software update or update of any kind. Again, at tech companies of this scale (and even much smaller, local companies) before IT performs an update/rollout of any kind, they make backup images of everything, so they can do an instant revert in case the update causes an unforeseen crash/incident. The last thing you want to be doing is troubleshooting the cause of an outage while everything is down. In addition, big rollout/updates are always piloted, even at smaller companies. They pick a test group of machines/networks, and roll out the update on those. After the bugs/kinks are worked out, only then do they do the full rollout. All of this is so mechanical and routine in modern IT that it's no more eventful than a corporate fleet manager sending their vehicles to the mechanic for an odometer checkup. Too many "just so" explanations in the news headlines these days, it's getting downright annoying...

Folks, we are in the post-Snowden, post-Assange, post-Trump, post-2020-heist, post-Q, post-etc etc world... it's time to put our big-boy thinking caps on and not just rehash the old "60 Minutes bad" tropes. The Deep State is real, the Deep State is an infiltration of American institutions and organizations that has corrupted them from within, while the patriots and other white-hats within those organizations remained largely unaware of what was really happening. How hard do you think it is to convince that "silent majority" of good guys to oppose the Deep State's tactics... or even one-up those tactics completely?? Not hard! If you want to live in a paranoid delusion where there is a Marxist behind every blade of grass and Biden&co. magically own DC lock, stock and barrel, suit yourselves. I choose to believe that there are good guys in our military, our police institutions and, yes, even in corrupt institutions like the CIA. Those institutions that have institutionally gotten into bed with the Deep State have soiled their own reputations beyond repair and that's their own damn problem. But that still doesn't mean that there are no good guys. So cut it out with the 100% 24x7 doom-porn. "It's too late! They already control everything!" This is where faithlessness leads... total hopelessness. If you want to hurl yourselves into the quicksand, I'll still throw your dumb ass a rope, but don't expect me to jump in after you! Have faith! God is in control, humans are powerless! (Psalm 60:11)

Belonging to a political party -- in itself -- does not make you "owned by" or an "asset of" that party. Perhaps she is an asset, I don't know. But that alone doesn't establish it. There are two reasons I think her testimony has the "elites" genuinely shaken: (1) the FB-wide outage (including DNS) indicates that there was a Zuckerbucks-level corporate-security "reflex" response (corporate IT at companies of that size have this kind of protocol in the event of a data leak, it's the digital equivalent of a campus-wide lockdown) and (2) she actually talks about the real issue in the 60 Minutes broadcast, so "the damage is done" even if Congress has a big glad-handing post-exposure cover-up hearing to attract the lights off of what she said in the 60 Minutes interview, and have duped her into feeling like they're "taking this very seriously" and "getting on it". Both of these are inconsistent with a limited-hangout / controlled disclosure. Of course, it's still controlled, but they are clearly in damage-control, which is a vastly different kind of control from a limited-hangout.

The Ds are clearly trying to twist this for their own use. She doesn't seem to have a clear political loyalty/affinity, which makes her maximally dangerous (in a good way). One sentence of verifiable testimony is sometimes all it takes to bring down an entire empire. So, let the Ds twist away. The era of "the 'elites' always win" is over. There is only Elite, who is God, and he is the only one who wins. All who oppose him are destroyed, I don't care what political party they come from, or even what religion they profess. God looks at the heart. This garbage is beyond done... it's so dead it doesn't even know how dead it is.

This looks like potentially cover for a natsec operation. 60 Minutes has told us that Haugen left with documentation of Facebook profiting from baiting political extremism, clinical depression and other social maladies. I want to know what she really left with. Global outage while Facebook corporate security tried to assess whether Zuckerbucks should flee to a non-extradition country? Already too late for him? (Hopefully.)

I'm going to give an unpopular opinion based on my own personal observations -- I think decimal measurements (in whichever unit system, Metric or English) are better for laboratory work, and binary (division-by-2) measurements are better for crafts, industry and other applications where measurements need to be quick and are often verified by eye-balling (even if only as a last-resort). For laboratory work, the benefit is that breaking things down by powers of 10 generalizes across all meters -- volt-meters, pressure gauges, etc. For field measurements, however, division-by-2/4/etc is much easier to visualize in the brain. I don't think any human can reliably estimate a 10th of some arbitrary interval. Just about anyone can eyeball a half/third/fourth, maybe even sixths if you divide by 2 then 3.

Sure, I have nostalgia that is all my own, and it is my view that it is ultimately God how keeps alive pockets of freedom in an inherently unfree world. But my point is more that nobody who lived through the 90's suggests "if only we could bring back the 90's". There were some very powerful movements that happened in the 90's completely unique from anything before or after. But my nostalgia in that regard does not lead me to feel the 90's were any kind of golden age and if only we could bring them back, things would be better. Those who lived through (and enjoyed) the 50's are enviable -- I think they really did live through a golden age of the American Dream, and I think they knew it (but did not realize it would not last). I'm all about bringing that back, but I have no illusions that a boomer boycott of GM is going to do the trick, or any of these other "boomers unite! settle for nothing less than our golden heyday!"-schemes. That's not how the 50's golden age of the American dream was lost and that's not how it will be resurrected. The reasons it was lost have a lot more to do with inner moral rot than any government program. Address the inner rot, and everything else will change by itself, as if by magic....

No, I don't. You know why? I was born in the 80's. This is something that the baby boomers don't get. A baby boomer once said to me, "You should have been alive in the 1950's. America was a different country then. It was truly a golden age." And I believe him. But the stark reality is that the vast majority of home-grown Americans have never seen that golden age, or anything like it. There is an ongoing demographic collapse that has been baked into the cake for three or four generations of Americans since the baby boom -- I'm not talking about the invasion of illegals, I'm talking about full-blooded Americans born right here in the US of A. The fact is that the baby boomers want to rest on their laurels and reminisce about "the good ol' days" as if most natural-born Americans should be able to relate. Well, we don't, and we can't beyond the way that we can relate to imagining a fairy-tale world in a movie or novel. I'm not disagreeing with Peters but I think that the tone of these pieces illustrates a profound lack of perspective and that is the very thing that the Left is exploiting to build their Antifa/BLM/Autonomous-Zone nonsense. If you have the money, the American dream is still very much alive today. You can buy property that is out of the urban area. You can build yourself a classic American house. You can invite friends from your circle to enjoy traditional festivities and keep the memory of that Golden Age alive. But it's largely a selfish act and it feeds into the very collapse that we are witnessing around us. I'm not pointing fingers, either. I'm not saying it's the baby boomers' fault that Antifa is out in the streets lighting shit on fire. Nobody's putting a gun to their heads and making them do that. But the fact is, they're doing it and they're going to keep doing it for as long as the gray-hairs in our country continue to withdraw into a cocoon of self-gratifying nostalgia, instead of taking the risk of venturing out into the reality of modern America to be leaders and share the cultural heritage they inherited through the privilege of living through the American Golden Age. </rant>

I have zero illusions about the trustworthiness of our spyphones. But "It is better to have one master than to have many"... if I'm going to spied on by the NSA/FBI/whoever, then let's keep it to that. I'm not going to voluntarily add my employer to that list beyond the extent I have no control over it.
