The other half of chicken is the idea of credible threat. The rich kid with a brand new Porsche 911 cannot make a credible threat to ram it into the mechanic with the junkyard-salvage Chevelle. While the Chevelle-driver might be injured, his property-loss is limited to the price he paid for the junkyard salvage, while the property-loss of the 911 would be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Even if his daddy's a millionaire, that's going to bite hard. So, the Porsche 911 lined up for a game of head-on chicken presents no credible threat to the junkyard-salvage Chevelle. LET'S GO!! More:

The music video for Unholy (which is the track performed at the Grammy's) is a hilarious contradiction. The video opens with the male character dropping off his "girlfriend" (trans co-singer Kim Petras) at work or some destination like that. While "she" is busy, he goes to "the Body Shop", which is a trans whorehouse. But when he dropped off his "girlfriend", he made the mistake of leaving a condom with the name "the Body Shop" on it, so "she" knows he's "cheating". Sam Smith presides over this Body Shop as a kind of god-of-justice, and his gaze upon seeing the "cheater" indicates that he knows what's really going on. Under his watchful gaze, the "cheater" is somehow ritualistically killed, an event having something to do with the car he dropped off his "girlfriend" with, which is now wrecked and painted "LIAR", "CHEAT", etc. The video closes with the "girlfriend" dancing with the rest of the gay/trans at "the Body Shop", over the dead body of the "cheater". So. A man "cheats" on his gay/trans sex partner, by going to a gay/trans whorehouse, and is ritually killed/punished by Sam Smith (wearing devil's horns at the end) for his sins. Yeah. OK. Whatever.

Exactly. Westboro Baptist are a bunch of blatantly anti-christian heretics. It is true that God condemns homosexual sin along with all other sins, but the only people who single out sodomy for either celebration or special condemnation... are the world. The true believer is one who is penitent for his own sins, and grieved for the sins of his countrymen. Staunch condemnation of sin has its time and place, as all things do, but billboarding damnation of selective sins is antichrist, it is doing the devil's work. Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees!!

I should have been more precise -- I'm agreeing with kahless that this is a tempest-in-a-teapot, yet another Wag-the-Dog distraction from whatever stunt the crooks in DC were pulling during the days that the balloon was national news. If Trump had allowed balloons over the continental US, Pelosi would have been screeching her lungs out from that day to this about it, so that's an obvious lie. When the MSMBS says, "LOOK HERE", I look everywhere EXCEPT where they're telling us all to look. If something has recently changed in the MSMBS, and they're actually covering real news stories, and this balloon just happens to be the first real news story they've reported on since... oh, idk, 9/11... then oops, sorry, my cynicism got the better of me after more than two decades of being fully justified 100% of the time. But this news story has every mark of boilerplate, Wag-the-Dog propaganda. If I am shown the relevant facts as to why this is not just another propaganda stunt, I'll change my mind. Until then, chuck it in the fucket-bucket with all the rest of the Fake News lies...

I wouldn't read too much into it. They're just blasting everything with a giant shotgun at this point. They don't have enough Jan 6-style ammo, so they're turning over every single stone, peeking into every single nook&cranny for fresh dirt. Surely, there is smoking-gun evidence of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy® buried somewhere out there! Catching people on petty charges and plea-dealing them if they'll make a false public "confession" to being part of the conspiracy to "Undermine Democracy" is one way to manufacture it. These people are psychotic crooks.

The evidence for the life, death and resurrection of Jesus is much weightier than most unbelievers realize. And his prophecy of the destruction of Jerusalem at the hands of the Romans is one of the most detailed, exact and long-range prophecies in all of Scripture. Think twice before dismissing the Gospel out-of-hand!

In addition to the other replies, another point to consider is stings. I think that a lot of the digital tyranny that has taken over the world is justified in the name of "stopping" every kind of social ill. Of course, they're facilitating the very thing they claim to be "stopping". We are rapidly approaching a singularity where every single interaction in the public sphere (including the Internet) is going to be nothing but non-stop jail-baiting. I've been watching this unfold for almost 10 years now, and I don't know how much longer until the fever breaks. We've built a social order that runs on "dirt" and so manufacturing dirt on people is the single most valuable line of work. Based on what I've been seeing over the last 10 years, I strongly doubt that prostitution exists as a profession as we once understood it. Stated another way, they're all just cops in high-heels and mini-skirts now.

There is no such thing as an "absence of religion" in society. "Secularism" is just a synonym for pagan polytheism. The story of the Old Testament, and its culmination in the gospels and the rest of the New Testament, follows a crystal-clear story-arc. There is no mystery, here. The central theme of the entire Bible is that God is the one-and-only Creator and, when we fell from grace through disobedience, we became inundated with a host of so-called "gods", all clamoring for our attention and pretending to be something that they aren't. That is, they are corrupt creatures claiming to be the Creator. In a word, they are impostors. I realize that a lot of people in the liberty movement are not explicitly Christian. Some belong to some other religion, and a significant number are either agnostic, atheist or just have no definite stance on religious questions. For those liberty-lovers who are not Christian, this is the thought-experiment that I would propose: suppose for a moment that a being appeared to you in a manner that made it unquestionable that this being is divine, and he explained to you that you are not compelled to believe in Christianity, but Christianity is the only true defense of civil freedoms, such as the freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, the right to effective self-defense, and so on. Now, given this information, would you be willing to pragmatically support Christianity as a force for civil good and order, even while you do not personally subscribe to it? I hope that the answer to that is yes. And the point of that thought-experiment, is that "Christian Nationalism" isn't about "imposing" anything on anyone, in fact, it's the only religious alternative that preserves the right of people to seek God according to their own conscience. The reason for raising this discussion in 2023, is that the doomsday virus has amply demonstrated that (a) we already have an established state-religion (secularism/polytheism), and (b) this established religion is tyrannical and oppressive in the extreme, in most cases amounting to little more than mob justice and Twitter-fueled reputational-lynching ("cancel"ing). Note that this is exactly how justice worked in pagan cultures like ancient Greece and Rome. Sure, they "tolerated" many gods in the temples, but the individual's conscience was always a mere slave to the mob. And the proof of this is in how much persecution and martyrdom the early church underwent for the simple act of daring to publicly teach that there is only one God, who is good and loving and who wants to save mankind from death and hell. As the historians constantly remind us: if you want to know the future, study the past. Nature abhors a vacuum. You cannot throw God out of your culture and expect that nothing is going to fill that void. In fact, everything is going to fill that void, and almost all of that "everything" is really evil stuff. We have simply forgotten how many shoulders of giants we are standing upon. We have become thankless and narcissistic, and so we imagine that we can just rewrite society according to our whims. How well have the marxists done in their two-century-long attempt to rewrite reality according to their whims? How has that actually worked out? More in-depth:

I enjoy Rose in small doses, but he is sometimes the proverbial man with a hammer to whom everything is a nail. Nationalism is definitely better than globalism because nation-scale imperialism is still smaller and more local than global imperialism. Thus, the power of nation-states -- while enormous -- is still much smaller than the power of a truly global government would be. In addition, while the US is an enormous country, it's still far more local and cohesive than an "American Union" would be. And if our Constitution were actually obeyed, the ordinary American would rarely, if ever, interact with the Federal government itself, with almost all governing functions being performed by the States, not the Feds. But alas, we know better than the Constitution and history and God and everything else because... we're modern. One of the most important lectures ever given by Hans Hoppe:
