Somehow, I'm starting to think, most of his appointments are a joke. I mean, he did appoint a fellow as head of the department of energy who not so long ago, couldn't remember he wanted to eliminate that department.

I think the real issue is related to the fact that "libertarians" or whatever you want to call this R3volution remnant is that they are pragmatic to the bone. If the mission in question doesn't have results that they can calculate and foresee, it will be discarded as an option for participation. Even though Ron Paul 2008 was a longshot, it was pragmatic from the standpoint of group action. That is what I think is really missing. We need intelligent group action that serves a purpose. I also believe it has to be outside of this political campaign paradigm. The movement has already shown that Ron was a one-time deal. The "multiple banners" can't be multiple candidates, in my opinion. Rand was as perfect as Ron just without the record, and couldn't get the same "Ron effect" with him. Why? Because doesn't seem pragmatic as RP 2008. There are ways though. Not going to attempt to articulate in this post, but I think there are still opportunities for group action that the movement could get behind if it was presented properly and communicated/marketed effectively.

Seems like anybody who was sent to the U.N. to represent the United States is just a puppet with somebody's hand up their ass. Looks like they know nothing about reality but instead, just regurgitate the talking points of those who sent them. Case in point. Nikki Haley and her telling everybody that Assad used chemical weapons. We have no proof that he did, but he's guilty till proven innocent.

Clearly. You write for an audience of one (you), ad infinitum. Public forums are the bees knees for the overtly vainglorious.

I've heard this rebuttal countless times on these forums. You don't know what I meant. You're reading into it. You don't know me. I choose NOT to be mysterious and abstract and beat around the bush, but rather post and question and debate towards actionable decisions and plans. That is the vector along which I post ESPECIALLY in grassroots central. So if you're ...feh... or ...meh... with regards to helping, or having faith in others, or hopeless in general, why post at all in this forum? Why not the vent or politics and philosophy?

Back in 1972, I took a solid black cast iron Peace Maker pistol to school for show and tell. It had no moving parts, but they stole if from me and I can't find another to replace it. Looks like things haven't changed.

Actually, this reminds me of a thought I had a few times over the years that I will likely incorporate into my plan this year. We do need a reset event. If we want to jumpstart organization, the first thing we need to do when organizing is universally agree that: 1) We are going to have some small modicum of transparent identity. 2) All apathy, trolling, fighting, and otherwise useless post history and online shenanigans will be forgiven. Reset point going forward. #2 is the real reset we need. I feel like so many people over the years feel the need to justify themselves since they have such a post history. Why? Your online history is the skid mark on the underwear of life. Throw it out and get some new underwear. Nobody cares and nobody is going to read it. If people try to drudge up your crap instead of focusing on real actions and accountability going forward we ding THEM for violating #2. Anyway, I've always liked that idea. 2nd chance for everyone but the price is some kind of real world presence. No point in giving 2nd chances to people we aren't even sure are real.

If I "believe in the virgin birth" I'm metaphysically inert and my prayers don't work? Dude, that's like a tiny thing that is awesome in it's symbolism but requires like a scintillionth of God's power. But I do believe it is a FACT of what happened. I also believe in the flood, the plagues, the resurrection, manna from heaven, water from the stone, Gideon's wool, the writing on the wall, the sun standing still, moses parting the red sea, water into wine, and talking donkeys (actually that's one of my favorite miracles). These are small things. Things that demonstrate to the basest of men, God's power. The real miracle, the real glory of God is not in these things. It's not in his ability to raise the dead, or create something from nothing (Big Bang). All of these historical things, all this universes laws and mysteries points to the one great mystery of the Cross. The great glory of His Holy Name is that He sent His Son. The redemption of His people by Him through the blood of His Son is the great Work and the great miracle. That God has compassion through His own goodness to save wicked men from their sin, THAT is the "Zohar of His glory."

I completely agree with you that Muslims and Christians do not worship the same God. For what its worth, I don't believe Jews worship the same God as Christians anymore either.

I'm going to be honest. I'm REALLY aggravated right now. I admire erowe1's ability to correct people with a completely cool demeanor, but at a certain point I just get ticked off. I honestly wanted to say a couple of things that were even more harsh than what I actually ended up saying. I just don't understand how most people can be so nonchalant about Terry's lying.

Well, you'd then be a 4-point Arminian (or 3 if you also believe in total depravity.) Either way, I'd just consider you a moderate Arminian, though I'm not going to try to force you to identify with any label. But, I consider pretty much everyone who doesn't believe in unconditional election to be "Arminian" in some sense. That probably isn't strictly accurate though

Spurgeon was an interesting one. He's not Calvinistic enough for the very "high" Calvinists, yet he's too Calvinistic for the Arminians I respect at the very least that you don't lie about Spurgeon. Many Arminians falsely claim that Spurgeon wasn't a Calvinist, and even insult his intelligence by claiming that he didn't know what Calvinism was when he was talking about it! To be sure, Spurgeon's "Calvinism" was very different than that of A.W. Pink. There's as much variety among us as there is among non-Calvinists
