I lost a huge amount of respect for him when he was claiming that treaties trumped the Constitution. A number of people pointed out that they did not, even people who had his ear, and he wouldn't reply to them. Nor did he correct his stance.
He was wrong and wouldn't admit it.
Months later he had changed his tune.
By the way, did any of you guys catch Thomas Massie a day or two ago when he was on Cspan's Washington Journal? One of the things he talked about was that, next to Rand, Trump was the candidate who had the most similar foreign policy. ie. no empire-building, no policing the world.
I'll tell you who has been wrong. All those on this forum who said over and over again that Trump didn't stand a chance, that he was just running to help Hillary get elected, those that called those of us planning to vote for him all kinds of colorful names.
The system *IS* rigged. To overcome the cheating, you have to overwhelm them with numbers. That is what Trump did. In other words, the leftists undershot their cheating.
And his name is TRUMP; not Thump.
That would be foolish. And for the reason that brushfire already stated. Without an electoral college, only a very few high population centers would matter to a candidate. They would care less about the other 95% of America.
Doing away with the electoral college is the same type of shortsighted thinking that led to Americans being convinced that it would be a good thing to direct elect our U.S. Senators.
