Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd just toss this in here because I thought it was close enough to the original conversation. "Be in the world, but not of it." I think it's plain to see what this means and that most of us have not been following it. This would, technically, mean that our involvement in politics, our enjoyment of debate, etc. goes against these maxims. We are directly engaging in "of this world" things by partaking. So, how do we stop? This means we are to literally sit back, worship God while the world burns down around us with smiles on our faces, no?

Perhaps the points bear repeating to get them to stick. Money and media control the majority. And unless we have a greater share of both, don't expect much change to occur.

The truth can be hard to swallow, I understand. The LP as I've said many times on here and even had conversations with you about, is a club right now of neckbeards who happen to be liberty-oriented. I'll take it, but they have zero power to do anything but issue press releases. When the LP is in power in D.C. or even state capitols and hasn't succumbed to a completely radically "free" society that includes allowing adults to mutilate children, marry animals, or realize that just because a company or institution is "private" they shouldn't be completely unshackled (many examples of the last few years show us why this is a bad thing now, unfortunately it took millions of people being censored through a coordinated campaign of so called "private" companies to prove this to a lot of people), or realize that it's not all about legalizing weed, then maybe we can sit down and have a grown up talk. I won't go as far as some right wing people calling for a "righteous emperor" (although, would that really be that bad right now or any worse than what we have?), but this whole deal is bunk and our system is trash. Literally, our only viable option is to work within the existing parameters and utilize one of the major parties as a vehicle. There's been limited success but it's more than the LP can show us (Massie, Amash, Paul, Glen Jacobs). Maybe it's just me changing as I get older and raise my children. I guess priorities do change.

There's a reason why homesteading is becoming popular again. More people than we think (although perhaps not as many as are actually needed) saw the writing on the wall and bought acreage these last two years. If you can dig a garden big enough to feed you and your family while also having one pig or one cow that you can slaughter, then you've got food for 6-12 mos. Now, the problem there is most of these people aren't actually homesteading... They work 9-5s in tech or something else, so they can't tend to their homestead all day long like you're supposed to. This is a major problem already because WTF are these people gonna do when they lose their jobs? I assume most people still did the 30 year mortgages assuming they'll always have jobs. The world is run by a bunch of psychopathic billionaires like Soros and others who are hellbent on continuing to maximize their wealth and influence at the expense of literally the world. Globalism, while producing many great things, has also shown (and continues) that the supply lines are fragile and can be weaponized any moment. We've been so far removed from our grandparents and great-grandparents generations and thought processes that you can see how utterly infantile we've become. The truth is, there's not shit we can do. That's not a call to nihilism, either.

All of the lefties are calling her a fascist. So... maybe there's something to her? Even a little something?

Can I just say where I'm at in Oklahoma I have anecdotally noticed far more south-of-the-border immigrant looking folks than usual? I mean, it's becoming very noticeable now. You can usually tell by a few things that they are recent additions to the U.S. But hey, whites aren't being replaced. Our border is fully under control as we allow millions into a country without the infrastructure to support these people as we try to deal with the messes we have now. Yea, let's see how that works out long term. I guess enough old white people died off fro COVID to simply make all of this a rounding error, right?

The Libertarian Party will save us! /s Here's my latest conclusion: the system as it is is rigged and money controls it. You get a lot of money on your side, you can influence things a bit more. You get media outlets on your side, you can influence things a bit more. Do not underestimate the power of stupidity. Stupid people are all around us and WANT to be taken care of by the government. They WANT to lease out their responsibilities as individuals to another if it means more Disney princesses, Star Wars, Marvel, and Pokemon for 30+ year olds "reeeeeeeee'ing" at "the man" or "the system" they want to replace with proven failed systems. The U.S. is fundamentally broken right now but I don't necessarily think that means we need to retreat into a hole. Find the people who think *MOST* like you do and join with them. Find commonalities and work with them. Try to get as "off grid" as you can in the background while you do this.

Married couples have time to find what clicks for the other and what doesn't. They also need to know that it's important to respond to the other. For many, I could see it being quality over quantity. Today's sex culture is crazed and is about quantity. And it's derived purely from lust, which is a bastardized form of real love.

This conversation has been had so many times here. It's just not a good idea anymore due to special interests. The right-wing people pushing it are stuck in 1776 and think it'll be just like 1776 again and completely fail to consider that the people who would be running such a convention are not the Statesmen of old. Instead, it'd be McConnell, Graham, Romney, etc. Edit: 1787, not 1776.

This type of infighting within the LP is one of the of reasons it won't amount to much, with or without the MC. Does every party have this? Sure. But, the difference is the LP lacks tens of millions of members (and authority and respectable figures) in which the majority can drown out the pettiness of the smaller factional groups. "Getting libertarians to agree on something is like herding cats" so how some of the sayings go. Again, I think the MC taking over the LP is great and I will continue to cheer them on, but I think it's a take over 10-20 years too late as we're finally staring down the barrel of tyranny after years of warning about it. Tell me, how many mayors are LP? Governors? State reps? State Sens? Federal Reps? Federal Sens? Arguing that we're going to change that now, or in two years, or four years, is simply too late. Arguing that we still just need to "educate" people is a strategy that should have kept up post-2012 when we all tucked our tails between our legs and vanished post-Ron Paul. The war is happening now and the LP cannot do anything to help us fight back against the leftist domination of all of our institutions. And while some of us here may still think the MAGA people are... it's no doubt that they are the biggest bloc of active voters right now in the non-leftist sphere. Trying to seek alliances with them in common areas is often tossed aside by libertarians thinking they're better. When Hilary and the MSM refer to the Deplorables, they're not just talking about MAGA people; they're talking about everyone else who doesn't bow to them. That includes us.

How about Jerry gets outta the way and we bring in Jimmy as General Manager... lol. There's so much talent on the team along with some obvious weakness but I think they should be better/more consistent than they are. Hopefully, they'll get it together for next season.
  7. Thank you very much.

    And same to you!
