The Oklahoma Libertarian Party has a website: http://oklp.org You can read up on them there, become a registered "member" of the party (this does NOT change your political affiliation; you still have to do that through the state), and keep up on news. Stay aware and don't become overly complacent.

Not sure what to think. Other than, we'll all still be screwed.

I'm reading bits and pieces here and lots of speculation in this thread. I don't see any hard confirmation that he's running LP or GOP, yet. I wasn't necessarily thinking it was for US Senate; it's still a high bar to set and achieve even at the state level. I only wants what's best to advance the message of liberty. From your own fingers just a few days ago:

Can someone contact him and tell him to re-think this? He needs some sense knocked into him if he wants to be serious and try to change things. It'll play out the exact same as anywhere else - he won't get the same air time as the R & D; he won't raise as much money; he'll be cast aside as the crazy guy; he'll end up with maybe 5-6% of the vote, most likely less. And the message will have reached the same ears and no one elses. Start small, build up. Prove your resume.

Yea, start small. Effect change at the lowest levels first and foremost. Through that, you can grow a reputation and then head onto the big pond. This may be a big waste of time, resources, and money.

Yea, I started doing research a while back as well and there is NO middle ground at all. It's "YOU'RE AGAINST SCIENCE YOU RELIGIOUS NUT BAG! AND YOU SHOULDN'T REPRODUCE!" or "Good for you for being so pro science and not like one of those icky liberty minded freaks." As for some of the anti-vaxxers, they become belligerent (and rightfully so to a point) and start screaming back and not really helping any causes… So yea, no middle area. I'm one of those who at the end of the day simply says "it should be a choice." I won't refute science or anything, just saying, it's against freedom to force things. Especially on babies. BTW, congrats. And as for names… Hm… Randal. Call him Rand for short. Or Murray. Or Ludwig (that would be kick ass).

Swann got a job at a local Fox affiliate somewhere in Ohio I believe. Ever since then Truth in Media has been all but dead. He did start another segment like the one he used to do at his old news station that got him popular (can't remember what it was called now), but I honestly don't hear or see of him. I'm wanting to say I read or watched something with him and he more or less said you have to have money to do things. I'm assuming Truth in Media wasn't cutting it for him to make a living. And there was NEVER hope in Jon Stewart. Another leftist/progressive blowhard.

He was very much submitted to and walking in His Father's way. Submitted to YHWH; resisting evil. If that makes you a rebel; count me in His court!

Ha, I didn't realize I put "slightly." Of course it's far more than slightly. But yea, agreed on counter points.

The younger generations have been lost thanks to the indoctrination factories (public schools). Kids need to be able to be free and explore and be just that: kids. BUT, they need some structure as well and it's up to the parents to provide that structure. They need to be properly educated and disciplined, not like the ways they do it now in public schools. But from a more personal level. That's why it's so important for the parents to be more active with their children. I could add that we need a slightly more educated populace (ala what Tom Woods preaches - well roundedness and people need to explore tech schools and other trades instead of just college college college). On top of people not being so lazy. Sure, do whatever you want, but hard work and working hard is known to be good for humans and our minds. Of course what has happened is we are given crap "educations" through the public school system that prepares us to be good little slaves to corporations and we chase the bone by working ourselves to stressful levels and kissing asses. None of that is healthy. Start there and the nation will begin to heal itself in other ways. Just my personal take, but despite what some reports may say about this country having more college graduates, etc. I truly feel deep down this country has become progressively more ignorant and slavish. We need to be strong individuals who are engaged in our communities.

Real big talk and completely unrealistic. We don't live in a society like that and you know that. I'm not arguing whether I agree with your premise or not (because in all honesty - I understand and do!). But stuff like that can't happen nowadays. The parents, who would be acting for their child against these hostile government and hospital workers who are essentially holding their child hostage, are the enemies here. At least, that's what the public is being told. It's sad, but you can't go in guns a blazin'. You'd be labeled a domestic terrorist and the sheep would be saying "all they had to do was vaccinate, or be normal" or "why did they have to be weirdos and different from the rest of us who follow the 'rules'?" Can't operate like that.

This is my stance on Sowell and he gets a tip of the hat from me for it. Again, not saying he's perfect, but I'm not going to completely cast him into the gutter. I've learned this the confusing way. There are splits in some libertarian circles regarding foreign policy and it's usually the old conservatives who converted over and retain a little bit of their hawkish tendencies. That of course depends and varies, but just my experiences….

Ah, yes, ROADS, the leftist catch all "gotcha!" against Libertarians… Pretty sure some of the first official roads in the U.S. were private toll roads developed by landowners, but don't let facts hit you in the ass!

Don't be such a purist. Sowell did more for spreading a "Libertarian" message than some other self proclaimed libertarians did, or even the Libertarian party itself… And I'm not saying he was perfect or anything, but sometimes comments like yours are what make some people scoff at libertarians for being so uppity. Tom Woods even sent out a email on his DL sending Sowell a farewell, that's good enough for me. Just roll with it. I like Sowell and own a few of his books. Sad to see him retire.

How about Jerry gets outta the way and we bring in Jimmy as General Manager... lol. There's so much talent on the team along with some obvious weakness but I think they should be better/more consistent than they are. Hopefully, they'll get it together for next season.
  7. Thank you very much.

    And same to you!
