It's been almost a half century since I used one. I'm right handed. As I recall, when I held it, my left hand was higher up the handle (leading position) and my right hand was lower on the handle (trailing position). And that's the way I see it in the youtube videos (though mine was a lot curvier than the one in the video below). Keep a stone handy, and sharpen frequently.

I will give Trump one little bit of praise for the way he conducted this process. At least at the gender reveal party for the SCOTUS nominee (see here) he didn’t start a brush fire like a different group of people did at theirs (see here).

But wait, that's exactly what the main stream media has been predicting. How is it possible that they could be so correct?

All Trump really needs to do is issue an executive order giving Clarence Thomas two votes. There's nothing in the Constitution that lays out how many votes each justice gets, so an executive order would clear that up.

Per Wikipedia But if what you're saying is true (that Democrats hate Christianity) I guess we can reduce the status of Christianity in the United States to that of a minority religion.

And even if they had control of all three they probably couldn't do it. Recall how easily Obamacare fell during the first two years of the Trump Presidency.

Did they support it at the time? No, probably not - at least not publicly. But at the time, state-licensed marriage was a foreign concept. George and Martha Washington never had a marriage license. Marriage was something that religion was in charge of - so, form a gay church and form gay marriages through those churches. You might just as well ask, "Would the founding fathers support the government licensing of any marriage (heterosexual, homosexual, polygamous, etc.?" Other questions, in the same vein, that you might pose: - Would the founding fathers support the abolition of slavery? - Would the founding fathers support African Americans having the right to vote? - Would the founding fathers support women having the right to vote? - Would the founding fathers support inter-racial marriage? ... if your founding father ancestor set aside property for you to live upon, does that obligate you to live on it? And it's not like homosexuality didn't exist at the time:

Oh, it's even worse from a Science and Technology standpoint. Go here to see where California gets it Electrical Energy supply. If you boil those numbers down, you find that California can already only generate 68.25% of the electrical energy it uses. And if you look at what it generates and what it imports: 40.72% comes from carbon-based sources and another 9.05% comes from nuclear sources (which are seen in an even more objectionable light than carbon-based). And now they want to replace every carbon-based vehicle in the state with one that requires electrical recharging. And that's on top of the commitments they've already made to convert existing carbon-based electrical to non-carbon/non-nuclear. Surf slaloming around windmills may become a new Olympic sport. Cripes, and they complain about the Republicans having their heads up their asses when it comes to Science, Math and Technology.

Oh the irony of a state that is experiencing rolling blackouts, that cannot even keep its lights on, mandating ELECTRIC vehicles within 15 years.

How many would it take before the Senate couldn't do any more work due to the show they put on for each candidate? That's where I want to get to.

There's no longer any need for mandatory needle punctures. Scientists are working on vaccines that spread like a disease. Basically, you vaccinate individuals and then send them out to churches, bars, raves, sporting events, concerts, and so forth to spread the vaccine. But if you socially distance and wear a mask, you won't have to worry about contracting the vaccine.

Thanks for that. It's spot on. This isn't about being principled, or even consistent. It's about the exercise of political power. Political power is easier to identify when the other side is not being principled or consistent - such as when the Democrats passed the Affordable Care Act by a simple majority rather than constraining themselves to the cloture rules necessary to pass the Senate. But, if what you say is true, then I guess the obvious follow-on question is, "When is the time to play fair and/or be magnanimous?" ... we are Americans after all; and back in the 1950's when I was growing up, that's one of the things we prided ourselves on. Pragmatically, of course, we never were magnanimous nor fair - but we at least pretended to be.

If donations are any indication of enthusiasm, then democratic enthusiasm is rising. Everyone's probably already seen this (it was posted on Drudge) Democratic donations skyrocket after death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Is anyone else reading between the lines on this? High-level Republicans are admitting they have little chance of maintaining the Presidency and Senate in the upcoming election. If they maintain the Presidency, then Trump simply makes his nomination in the new term. If they maintain the Senate, then the Senate will either confirm Trump's nominee or stomp on Biden's nominee.

My father died of a heart attack (that's the cause listed). His heart condition was pushed over the edge by Sepsis. And the Sepsis was brought on by Septicemia The Septicemia resulted from a blocked intestine that the doctors failed to recognize. And the blocked intestine came about due to a congenital abnormality that caused the intestine to twist on itself and seal off like a sausage due to the forces of a skydiving accident. So, yeah, he died of a heart attack. But that comorbidity wouldn't have been tipped over the edge without the long string of conditions mentioned. And so it is with COVID-19. It kills the old and the otherwise weakened by tipping their comorbidities over the edge. Now the gunshot and auto accident victims being counted as COVID-19 deaths ... there you've probably got an argument to stand on. Though even in those cases, the victims may have survived if they had been completely healthy rather than possessing comorbidities exacerbated by COVID-19 (it's pretty much a judgement call by the medical pros).

‘SNL’: Jim Carrey Set To Play Joe Biden It looks like Carrey is booked for the entire season: so either they expect Biden to win, or that he'll pull a "What Happened" book tour like Hillary did. I'm a bit disappointed. I think that Carrey is too energetic and bombastic to play Biden. I was hoping they'd go back to Woody Harrelson: https://youtu.be/lgA0fjztqaQ?t=170 https://youtu.be/y8EQFhj8ca4?t=184 https://youtu.be/VNjZHZ7kpM0?t=405

That's the area of the country where I grew up. Fort William Henry (the one that is set ablaze during the French and Indian Wars in "Last Of The Mohicans") is located at the South end of the 22 mile long lake. We routinely swam from the West shore to the East and back. My sister still takes the Polar Bear Plunge there every New Years Day. There's really no part of the lake where it would be difficult to swim to shore. And if you don't have the swimming skills, then why the hell aren't you wearing a life preserver? Oh, I know, it was one of those cases where the guy thought that a life preserver was an infringement upon his liberty. Darwin award! Probably some idiot from New York City used to swimming in a public pool with a life guard. It's a shame he didn't go another 30 miles north. Champ could have taken care of him.

There's something about the way libertarian brains are wired that forces them to see conspiracy in the most mundane of events, I'm sure of it. Paging Brian4Liberty to suggest that maybe a "Conspiracy Theory" Forum is in order. Or maybe we should just have a "Conspiracy Theory of the Week" poll to see which one(s) of the many proposed that we want to run with. Plus rep to the first poster able to get within Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon on this one.

It happened sometime after they Made America Great Again. You see, I grew a bit weary from all the winning.

Remember the number one rule of libertarianism: Bad things don't just happen; bad things require dark and insidious forces to make them happen.
