It's probably too late to market this concept for this holiday season, but isn't a package in order to help your kids become effective stewards of the environment going forward? A package that would teach them to scour proposed sites for windmill farms, geothermal energy and lithium mines for endangered species and other environmental impacts. Nevada toad in geothermal power fight gets endangered status

I'm not a small-"d" democrat, because I'm against the whole concept of "50% + 1" being able to tell the other "50% - 1" what to do ... but as an observer of "the sport", I guess I'd be interested in what the governing law or statute defines the whole process to be: what certification consists of, who's responsible for what, deadlines, what happens if deadlines aren't met, things like that. For all I know, "certification" might be something as simple as the county assuring the state that the county has collected, collated and reported the votes reported to it by each of its precincts at the time of the deadline. I've been led to believe that if a county fails to certify by the deadline, then that county's votes are omitted from the state's totals; but I haven't seen it specified in statute, so I really can't be sure. I guess it all boils down to what the statute/process says is to happen when a county fails to certify on time (and it's used up all of its timeouts, lol). Edited to add: Here's the website for Arizona Election Laws & Publications: ... which points to the Elections Procedures Manual

Imagine being out for a nice little flight in your hang glider, and having one of these beasts coming straight at you as it completes a twist so it's talons are extended and ready for business. Made a note in my flight log: "Don't go near the west slope again: Golden nesting area" ... and all you SCUBA guys are saying, "Just poke it in the eye!"

Yes, but in the case of those programs that have been funded years in advance, and for which the money has not yet been spent, can the House unilaterally defund the program without concurrence from the Senate and President? Maybe what you're saying is that the House would have to threaten to cut off all new spending until the Senate and President agreed to the spending cuts that the House was demanding to existing programs? ... or refusing to extend the debt limit. I can't recall either of those approaches having worked in the past - it's only ended up closing the National Parks and giving federal workers a paid vacation.

This is what the Congressional Record says regarding "tax exempt status": SEC. 7. STATUTORY PROHIBITION. (a) No Impact on Status and Benefits Not Arising From a Marriage.--Nothing in this Act, or any amendment made by this Act, shall be construed to deny or alter any benefit, status, or right of an otherwise eligible entity or person which does not arise from a marriage, including tax-exempt status, tax treatment, educational funding, or a grant, contract, agreement, guarantee, loan, scholarship, license, certification, accreditation, claim, or defense. They're considering it to codify "gay marriage" and "interracial marriage" into law, so in case the current Supreme Court removes those types of marriage as a right (by reviewing and rejecting a previous Supreme Court decision that read such a right into the Constitution) ... as Justice Thomas has stated could happen. Lindsey Graham tried taking the same approach with abortion. I'd prefer that the government (at all levels) were out of the marriage business altogether. But I recall from my days in Fathers' Rights, that there are over 1,400 federal laws that treat people differently based upon marital status (marital law - which might be close enough to "martial" to get Anti Federalist's eye twitching) : everything from tax brackets to social security to default inheritance provisions. Maybe the people that vehemently oppose gay marriage will come together to get rid of all those marital laws - but I don't think that's what they're looking for. They're happy to have those marriage provisions for heterosexuals, they just want them denied to homosexuals. Imagine the outpouring of anger if you were to remove the privilege of a non-working wife to receive Social Security or Medicare payments following divorce from or the death of her husband. Pragmatically, those marital laws won't be going away.

I can see where the House could stand in the way of any additional funding of legislation, but how do they go about stopping already funded legislation without concurrence from the Senate and over-riding a veto from the President? I'd like to see them stop the Student Loan Forgiveness, but don't think they can do it without new legislation - which would have to pass the Senate and have both Chambers of Congress over-ride the President's veto.

A goodly percentage of the voters were against the lockdowns and forced vaccinations. Nonetheless, almost 80% of the country was vaccinated (most were happy to have the Pfizer and Moderna options) - so if there were any anti-vax MAGAts, they came off looking like crackpots to most voters. Besides, didn't the MAGAt in Chief brag about his "warp speed" development and deployment of the vaccine?

Honest question: were any of the MAGAt candidates running against extravagant and wasteful DOD spending? Lockheed Martin is the nation's largest military contractor - did Hershel Walker criticize them as he came through Marietta? Because I don't recall it, and if I didn't hear it, then most of the voting public didn't hear it either. If they did mention it, it was drowned out by the "stolen election" rhetoric. But even if they did, it's a bit like Hillary going into coal country and telling them that she's out to eliminate coal jobs. Cutting back on extravagant DOD spending is principled, but probably not a winning campaign issue - a more winning proposition is to campaign on eliminating waste and promoting efficiencies.

Not religion, but rather when modern sanitation, medicine and nutrition came along and reduced infant mortality to the point where emotional investment was worthwhile. Prior to that, children were often not even named until they had been alive for several months (by which I mean "out of the womb" for several months). Parents didn't "dip their kids in the polaroid lacquer" (or Christen them) until they were sure they were "going to take".

Another part of the "Ultra MAGAt" Plan was to elect MAGAt Governors and Secretaries of State who would overturn "the will of the people" in the upcoming 2024 election. If there was anything that could be considered a bulwark of the MAGAt Platform, that was it. And the constant harangue of "stolen elections" from the MAGAt candidates made it clear that was just what they intended to do. There are things, like that, which work to get candidates nominated during primary season (when the "less intense" <i.e.: normal> members of the GOP faithful don't bother to turn out), but which work against those candidates in the general election. The "stolen election" BS lost you not only independents, but a portion of the GOP faithful as well. Running on a platform of "the elections are rigged" was a bridge too far for even a lot of Republicans and instead of pinching their noses to vote for a MAGAt candidate, they pinched their noses and voted for candidates who at least supported the validity of the voting system. Edited to add: I'm one of those anti-voting anarchists, and even I could see this. I find it unfathomable that people versed in voting don't see it.

Don't dismiss the impact of Michigan's change in the way it conducts redistricting. Prior to 2020, redistricting had been in the hands of the legislature (the self-fulfilling prophesy is that it gave the GOP an advantage). But in 2018, Michigan Proposal 2 passed by a large margin (61% to 39%) - turning redistricting over to an independent commission. Expect this to happen in more and more states - redistricting will be out of GOP hands.

I found it, Article II So there's no unconstitutionality about both President and Vice President being from the same state, it's just that no Florida Elector can cast their votes for two candidates, both of whom are from Florida. It's a pragmatic political consideration - in a close race you could end up with President and Vice President being from different parties. But do you really think that Trump is going to change his residency back to high-tax New York from no-tax Florida ... looking weak in the process as though it was something he had to do to get the needed Ron DeSanctimonious on his ticket?

The question now is whether or not GOP voters will turn out for Walker in Georgia without control of the Senate being on the line. It was being reported that the GOP was looking to snub Trump for DeSantis in Herschel Walker runoff ... but that Trump might just show up uninvited. I expect that neither Trump nor DeSantis wants to hook themselves up to the Walker campaign at this point.

Inflation is Mother Nature's way of balancing a country's currency with its worth.

Here at RPF, we don't promote every conspiracy theory - merely the ones we've been made aware of. If there's anything that Ron Paul followers know, it's that bad things don't just happen; bad things require dark and insidious forces acting in concert and in secret to make them happen.
