Say what you want about urban/rural or whatever, Texas as a whole is a very different place than California as a whole. The lines are clear enough for me, and they are only getting clearer as the left becomes more and more extreme. And whether they "let" us leave peacefully or not, I don't give a damn, there's more of us than there are of them.

Oh, they'll comply all right, in the only way that actually matters. They'll go into "stealth" mode and stash their non-compliant magazines for "future use" (what's wrong with NOW?). The more creative among them will coat them with cosmoline, vaccuum pack them with a little dessiccant and burry them somewhere "safe." Then they'll pick up some compliant mags and when they go out shooting use those, demonstrating for all to see that thy have, in fact, bent the knee. Then, as will occasionally happen, one of them will be caught with their contraband (turned in by an angry ex, or innocently by a careless child at school) and be prosecuted and sent to prison. The rest will be all like "Hey, didi you hear about poor Bob?", but they'll just continue along their cowardly path, oblivious to the fact that their actions pretty much nullify any utility that general firearms ownership might otherwise provide. And around and around it will go.

This is where your ethical compass is misaligned. One does not need a reason to secede. The right to self determination is innate and inalienable, and is not subject to any kind of justification. To use force to keep someone in a relationship they don't want to be in is highly immoral and akin to slavery. You claim you are against slavery. Why are you OK with the North enslaving the South to stay in the union? Even if the North's reasons were about slavery , it still would not justify enslaving the South.

Ya in practical terms this will mean people will have to drive probably an average of 200 miles in order to kill their baby. Unless they're doing it like literally every 3-4 months, it really isn't that big of an inconvenience. Well, it's not even about experience. Oil companies have given them a list which details exactly what they need to increase production. I'm not sure I understand. The only reason I can gather for not needing a 2nd Amendment in the first place, is that you consider it to be a universal inalienable right. Is that what you believe? If an anti-gun group bought some property, seceded, and formed a community where guns are not allowed (except for military), would you consider that to be some violation of a God given right to bear arms? In my opinion, if people are going to enter a voluntary pact with another (which the Constitution was originally intended to represent), it's better to be specific about the terms of the relationship than leave it to vague interpretation. Now, if you're saying the 2nd Amendment can go kick rocks because the Constitution isn't a voluntary pact and you never signed it, then I guess that makes sense in some cut-off-nose-to-spite-face kind of sense

What would be the point? Your ideal 3rd party would never win, or even get close. And I say that as someone who would be rooting for your 3rd party to win. The only way you can build the society you want is via secession. And for that to happen, secession has to become mainstream and common. Even if Texas seceded tomorrow, that's just one secession. It brings you barely closer to your goals. The LP on the other hand, advocates for secession in a general sense, as a political tool to create societies such as the one you envision. The LP strives to give you the freedom to build the society that you want.

I think its because they've subscribed to what amounts to a religion of Marxist values. They are incapable of processing any "facts" that conflict with their religion. Stupid/Genius are both susceptible to falling prey to this religion. Their various churches have reinforced these beliefs to a point now they are completely disconnected from reality.
