This is where your ethical compass is misaligned. One does not need a reason to secede. The right to self determination is innate and inalienable, and is not subject to any kind of justification. To use force to keep someone in a relationship they don't want to be in is highly immoral and akin to slavery. You claim you are against slavery. Why are you OK with the North enslaving the South to stay in the union? Even if the North's reasons were about slavery , it still would not justify enslaving the South.

Ya in practical terms this will mean people will have to drive probably an average of 200 miles in order to kill their baby. I'm not sure I understand. The only reason I can gather for not needing a 2nd Amendment in the first place, is that you consider it to be a universal inalienable right. Is that what you believe? If an anti-gun group bought some property, seceded, and formed a community where guns are not allowed (except for military), would you consider that to be some violation of a God given right to bear arms? In my opinion, if people are going to enter a voluntary pact with another (which the Constitution was originally intended to represent), it's better to be specific about the terms of the relationship than leave it to vague interpretation. Now, if you're saying the 2nd Amendment can go kick rocks because the Constitution isn't a voluntary pact and you never signed it, then I guess that makes sense in some cut-off-nose-to-spite-face kind of sense

What would be the point? Your ideal 3rd party would never win, or even get close. And I say that as someone who would be rooting for your 3rd party to win. The only way you can build the society you want is via secession. And for that to happen, secession has to become mainstream and common. Even if Texas seceded tomorrow, that's just one secession. It brings you barely closer to your goals. The LP on the other hand, advocates for secession in a general sense, as a political tool to create societies such as the one you envision. The LP strives to give you the freedom to build the society that you want.

I think its because they've subscribed to what amounts to a religion of Marxist values. They are incapable of processing any "facts" that conflict with their religion. Stupid/Genius are both susceptible to falling prey to this religion. Their various churches have reinforced these beliefs to a point now they are completely disconnected from reality.

Yea... the 8 legislative priorities have been released. The secession vote wasn't even in the original list of 15 that they whittled down to 8. It's not happening in Texas any time soon.

We'll see. I remain cautiously optimistic. Getting added to the GOP platform is one thing, getting added as a legislative priority for the next session, is a whole different thing.

Nope- that is false history; the war was never about slavery- it was about money. The South seceded because of the tariffs that were imposed by the North. The South was making more money doing business with Europe & was much more productive than the North & the Yankees could not have that. Slavery was about over & approximately 3% of the southern population still had slaves. Many blacks had their own land, farms etc & were part of the growing success of the South. I just continue to be stumped how basically everyone in libertarian media automatically assumes that Putin's fear of NATO is so far and away the most dominant reason for Putins invasion, that any other reasons aren't worth discussing. When really the opposite is true. I expect this of course from MSM, but had hoped by now libertarian media would have figured this out a little better.
