Well, Bibi looked like absolute deathly hell this morning. Her humanity was almost vanished as she lay there, looking hollow. My friends Mike and Bonnie came to see her and we then went to dinner. When they dropped me off I decided to go back upstairs before heading home. To my surprise, she was awake and the most alert I'd seen her since the surgery. Of course, the nurse came and doped her up with Dilaudid. We watched the evil television for about half and hour and she was gone to la-la land.
Until that time, I was rather unsure as to whether she was going to leave the hospital other than in a plastic bag. It is not an easy thing to see someone in such misery, but I am hoping tomorrow will be better. Her eldest daughter will come from NJ in the morning. She's a really good daughter.
Thanks again, everyone, for all the prayers and well-wishing. This is one of those things for which Bibi has a genuine appreciation.
