Right, it's a win/win for both of them. But a mainstream semi viable candidate like RFK jr makes everything so much easier for them. If he hits the threshold, they will not have to collect signatures for ballot access and have more funding next cycle.

In normal times a president doing this poorly in polling would not be re-elected. But nothing is normal. I think the polls will be more accurate if/when Trump is convicted.

If RFK got them enough votes, which I believe he would, the LP would have automatic ballot acccess in the next election. They wouldn't have to petition for it.

I'm talking about future benefit for the LP. I would not be surprised if RFK jr could pull high single digits, low double digits as their candidate. That would get them federal matching funds which would be a game changer for them. Johnson almost did it for them when he ran.

Because the companies that use low skilled illegals simply can not afford to pay any higher wages. They would fail. We are already seeing that to some extent in Florida. If you hadn't noticed there is a huge shortage of workers for the unskilled jobs that illegals typically do. If all the illegals left those jobs would remain unfilled, businesses that rely on them would close. It would be a domino effect.

How do you propose to locate all these people and determine who is an illegal? Papers please? A better solution would be to just offer a green card to all who are in the country illegallly now or who arrive at the border. This gets them paying taxes. It's impossible. You can't physically capture and remove 17 million people. Even if you could do it, it would crash the US economy. As for the other parts of his plan, yes bringing home all the troops and deploying them on the border is fine. The FBI needs to stay doing what it is doing and just abolish DHS and DEA.

I think at this point the Russians have basically won. The Ukrainians couldn't break through the Russians defensive lines despite being supplied with obscene amounts of cash and hardware.
