I would put money that whoever is trying to sue him now did it intentionally because they knew damn good and well it would result in a lawsuit. Again INTENTIONAL. People do have the FREEDOM to choose to shop where ever the hell they want. And THAT is the reason that I am highly suspicious of people choosing to try to do business with a guy who is known to stand up for his right to believe what ever the hell he wants to believe. If those people wanted to be happy, they would have supported a different business, and thereby that business owner if they are more accommodating to LGBTBBQWTFROFLSCUBA Genders.

I beg to differ. If there is no provision to "grandfather" what were legal items, then it most certainly is an ex post facto violation.

And so we come full circle ... If they are going to strike it down because of its source (EO vs. act of Congress), then: How can it possibly work to our advantage if the courts say, "This does not pass muster as an EO - but it might as an act of Congress ..."? But if they are going to strike it down because of its substance, then:

But this just puts it under the best-case "pointless and unnecessary" branch of the "either-or" I presented. (And it could end up under the worst-case "counter-productively dangerous" scenario if the BATFE decides to change its mind.) What is the point of issuing a regulatory EO that won't be enforced? How is an unenforced EO (or an enforced one, for that matter) supposed to preempt or beat down the Democrats' gun-grabbing efforts in any way? And if, as you say, the courts would give greater deference to an act of Congress, then why should the Democrats feel at all inhibited or stymied by Trump's supposedly toothless EO? Indeed, it seems that just the opposite should be the case. After all, sharks don't go away when there's blood in the water ... In short: the Trumpslanation we have been offered for this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The sensible explanation is that this is not a ploy and that Trump is simply a half-assed gun-grabber (as accords with the history of his remarks on the issue going back decades). No chess required.

You and dannno are trying to have it both ways ... If the courts are going to beat down Trump's crappy gun-grabby laws, then why wouldn't they beat down the Democrats' crappier gun-grabbier laws? Or to state things the other way around, if the courts are at all likely to allow the Democrats' crappier gun-grabbier laws, then why wouldn't they be at least as likely (if not more) to allow Trump's crappy gun-grabby laws? If they WOULD beat down the Democrats' crap, then why does Trump need to do anything? But if they would NOT beat down the Democrats' crap, then why should anyone expect them to beat down Trump's? IOW: Either Trump's crap is pointless and unnecessary at best (at worst, it is counter-productively dangerous if it does manage to pass judicial muster), or it is not a ploy ...

Once again, The Stupid Party snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. In 2016, we were looking at majorities in all three branches, repeal of McClure/Volkmer Class III bans, nationwide CCW reciprocity, nationwide Constitutional Carry, among other things. Just under three years later, we're looking at bans (for real, turn 'em or be arrested bans) on whole classes of accessories, bans on private sales, bans on magazines, punitive taxation and god knows what else the New Bolsheviks will push through next year.

Independence Police Department squad car. Image: KMBC Bryce dealt with the perception that he was somehow to blame on a daily basis. Trying to go back to normal meant putting himself back in the community. The only thing the public knew was what had been reported, and what had been reported was that he resisted a lawful arrest, and his car smelled like marijuana. In every interaction, whether at school or out in public, the question of what he did, what responsibility he must have for his own injury, hung over him.The Independence Police Department was hardest on him. Once Bryce learned to drive again, Independence squad cars followed him several times, sometimes even pulling up next to him so the officers could smirk or wave. On one occasion, he said, he was out bowling when two officers approached him and sarcastically asked how he was doing. Matt, Stacy, and Bryce all said that the harassment has become worse. Bryce was recently ticketed for allegedly going 80 mph in a 40 mph zone by an officer who claimed he had paced the car to determine its speed instead of using a radar gun. Bryce denied he was going anywhere near that fast. Even on the night of Runnels’ sentencing, Bryce said, he was followed by an Independence squad car for at least 3 miles. In another incident, a police cruiser blocked him in; a few nights later he was pulled over. The Independence Police Department did not respond to a request for comment. Mostly Bryce struggled because he couldn’t rely on his own memory of the incident. He wanted to prove himself, but he didn’t know any of the details. All he had was the instinct that, as the son of a cop himself, he would have made sure to be respectful. “I knew, in my heart, that I didn’t do anything wrong to him,” he said. D

The only wholesale ban on a whole class of weapons, that is still in place, was signed by Reagan. Vermont, for hundreds of years, has been one of the most free states in regards to firearms. Pete Shumlin (R) signed a whole slew of gun restrictions into law last year.

Outrage Sparked as School Kids Now Taught that ‘Boys Can Have Periods Too’—to Be Inclusive https://thefreethoughtproject.com/school-children-taught-boys-mensturation/ A Brighton primary school will now begin teaching children as young as eight that “trans boys and men and non-binary people may have periods” as part of new guidance on menstruation and sex education. The instructions were included in the ‘Taking a Period Positive Approach in Brighton & Hove Schools,’ guidelines issued by the local council in early December. “Period products are provided for all pupils and students who need them and this provision is promoted and known about by all,” the guidance reads, with express intention of reducing the “stigma and shame related to periods.”

Of course, we, the ever fucked taxpayers, get fucked again. Jury Awards $6 Million https://thefreethoughtproject.com/jury-awards-6-million-cop-teen/ Kansas City, MO – After sentencing a former Independence police officer to four years in prison for violating the constitutional rights of a minor, a federal judge released the dash cam video revealing the overzealous cop tazing the teen for no reason and brutally slamming his head onto the street. Although the innocent teen went into cardiac arrest, which resulted in oxygen deprivation and brain damage, the aggressive officer can be seen in the video repeatedly using excessive force on the boy’s unresponsive body. Now, four years after this savage act was recorded on video, the victim has been awarded over $6 million in damages. On Friday, a federal jury awarded Bryce Masters, then 17 years old, more than $6 million in damages for the egregious and despicable act caught on video. During the trial witnesses, recalled that Masters went into cardiac arrest as a result of the assault and nearly died.

Swiss gun ownership: one of the perks of maintaining a healthy, national identity, while remaining cosmopolitan, liberal, and rather open. Legal immigration there is actually well regulated and up in the past 30 years, according to some articles. Its a shame our national ethos is immature or nonexistant by comparrison.

HAHA! I just saw your post in another thread (I was catching up on forum drama) about Mr A putting me on a leash. I don't think he would do that to me if he could. Even though he complains about my oversharing sometimes (not on the forum but IRL. I'm not good at filtering), he knows I'm a good girl and despite my outward personality, I'm a surprisingly solid and committed person underneath. We've been together since I was 23 (24 years/married 20), he knows everything - even stuff he'd rather not know.
