Nineteen crew members were aboard when the jackup barge faltered on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 13. Here's what we know about the missing, the dead and the rescued eight miles south of Port Fourchon: The rescued Rescuers saved six crew members in the hours immediately after the capsizing. None has been publicly identified.

https://twitter.com/bariweiss/status/1383187423731937282 1383187423731937282 April 13, 2021 Dear Fellow Brearley Parents, Our family recently made the decision not to reenroll our daughter at Brearley for the 2021-22 school year. She has been at Brearley for seven years, beginning in kindergarten. In short, we no longer believe that Brearley’s administration and Board of Trustees have any of our children’s best interests at heart. Moreover, we no longer have confidence that our daughter will receive the quality of education necessary to further her development into a critically thinking, responsible, enlightened, and civic minded adult. I write to you, as a fellow parent, to share our reasons for leaving the Brearley community but also to urge you to act before the damage to the school, to its community, and to your own child's education is irreparable. It cannot be stated strongly enough that Brearley’s obsession with race must stop. It should be abundantly clear to any thinking parent that Brearley has completely lost its way. The administration and the Board of Trustees have displayed a cowardly and appalling lack of leadership by appeasing an anti-intellectual, illiberal mob, and then allowing the school to be captured by that same mob. What follows are my own personal views on Brearley's antiracism initiatives, but these are just a handful of the criticisms that I know other parents have expressed.

Note how the tweets from CNN and TIME in my previous post seek to conflate COVID and "climate change" as being sufficiently similar to justify congruous policies and practices. Now consider the Bloomberg article referenced in the tweet below, which suggests that the "new normal" of COVID travel restrictions are an appropriate analog for policies and practices aimed at dealing with the supposed environmental problem of what they dub "overtourism" ... (complete with a reference to "flight shaming," which appears to be something kindred in spirit to "mask shaming" ...) COVID-inspired bullshit isn't going anwhere. It's just changing the underlying excuse it uses to justify itself. https://twitter.com/bopinion/status/1383509837716221960 1383509837716221960

I remember something about NG troops going to DC during the protest. I watched a youtuber that I follow do a video on the trip to DC for the event she talked about the NG going to be there. A lot of people were expecting the NG to be there. I haven't looked up any links to go with this reply for all I know the web has been scrubbed of them but I know that people were expecting NG troops an extra police. I am almost certain that I even heard Trump say that they would be there too.

Meh. Psychiatry is problematic enough as it is, without injecting politics into it - and vice versa. Whether or to what extent psychiatry is actually just a bunch of hoodoo gussied up as "science" is an issue about which volumes could be written. Science requires rigorous definitions and objectively reproducible measurements. These are things in which the field of psychiatry is severely deficient. But for the sake of what follows, let us assume that psychiatry is not just another instance of overweening scientism. Did the study account for how likely members of the various groups (liberal, conservative, male, female, young, old, etc.) were to seek psychiatric diagnoses in the first place?

When I was young in the 60s-70's I used to smoke several joints a day an stayed pretty zonked most of the time. Then suddenly I decided I wanted to see how much it actually took to get a nice buzz going. I greatly reduced the amount I smoked and would just take at the most 3 hits. If I did not feel high within 20 minutes I would not buy. Soon I wanted to be able to only smoke pot that I could take one hit of and get a nice buzz. Then the medical industry started doing drug testing and I quit for a pretty good while. After my son was born I did not want to have any pot in the house ever. His dad an I worked it out for him to move with in with his dad when he turned 15, after that I stopped working in main stream medicine and went to alternative practices i was completely fed up with main stream medical by then and knew it was an up hill battle for me. I still did not smoke when I was working or had early appointments the next day.I mostly only smoked when I was off the next day. Anyway I started noticing that pot quality was going way down and the cost was going way up so since then I have very much limited my pot smoking because of the cost being up way too much. Anything that hurts my wallet is going to have to be dammed good for me to consider buying it no matter what it is. I miss being able to get some pot and be able to take a hit and get a good buzz. To me that means I don't get sleepy and hungry or cough when I smoke. I want to paint and play music, dig in the garden and, conduct my experiments. I want to smoke pot that enhances these activities. I can do these things without pot but, pot like I like to smoke ain't in my realm. And nobody has been able to tell me why Delta 8 has such a bad after taste.

And on and on it goes, amirite? All those other cases have to be parsed very closely, only because in this day and age if you show any form of aggression toward a cop with weapon of any kind, you're liable to get lit up, no questions asked. In all the stories of police abuse I post, I try as hard as I can to filter out any that could even remotely be construed as being a reasonable response toward a deadly threat. And there are enough of them to indicate a serious problem that we could have gotten in front of instead handing to the Marxist left on silver platter.

Hey old friend. Your inbox is full or else I'd have sent this there.

This election has me at the point of no hope for the future of this nation. And I occasionally remember the good people from RPFs and all the time we had exchanging ideas and creating our own little online community.

I read a bit of your latest comments about holding the line so maybe we can gather a counter-force. Whelp. Time is up. I'm a bit sad the forum is not as active as in days gone by, but things change.

Thank God Ron is still alive to be a voice of reason in a sea of dystopian technocrats.

Swiss gun ownership: one of the perks of maintaining a healthy, national identity, while remaining cosmopolitan, liberal, and rather open. Legal immigration there is actually well regulated and up in the past 30 years, according to some articles. Its a shame our national ethos is immature or nonexistant by comparrison.

HAHA! I just saw your post in another thread (I was catching up on forum drama) about Mr A putting me on a leash. I don't think he would do that to me if he could. Even though he complains about my oversharing sometimes (not on the forum but IRL. I'm not good at filtering), he knows I'm a good girl and despite my outward personality, I'm a surprisingly solid and committed person underneath. We've been together since I was 23 (24 years/married 20), he knows everything - even stuff he'd rather not know.
