Yup, no doubt about it. What do we spend all those trillions on "defense" for, if not that? A foreign government, in collusion with traitors within our own government, developed a gain of function bio-weapon, in violation of agreed research protocols, funding restrictions and international agreements. They then released that bioweapon on an unsuspecting world, lied about it's source, scope and origins, and killed, imprisoned or "disappeared" whistle-blowers on the inside that tried to expose this information. This weaponized virus went on to kill tens of millions worldwide and millions of of our fellow United States citizens, who have a constitutional right to be protected from foreign attacks and invasion. If that is not justification to release every weapon in our arsenal at the goddamned Chinese communists and these spawn of Satan himself weapons facilities, nothing is.

Good grief, three pages of arguing about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. This is a politically motivated "hit". If there is nothing at all to prosecute in this, then they will move on to something else. Sooner or later, they'll find something and achieve their goal: keeping Trump legally off the ballot in 2024. Throwing him in jail for some manufactured crime is a whole lot easier than rigging yet another presidential election.

I disagree. I'm inclined to give Trump himself much more of the "credit" for his being such a disappointment. As for Biden, I'm not entirely confident he is even always aware that he is the President.

Yup, we get it...as an anarchist I understand your position. However, under the conditions we find ourselves right now, it's a counterproductive position to take and ends up creating even more government and more control. "Abolish the police! Empty the prisons" shouts the anarchist. Fine...I'm no fan of the cops myself. LA and NYC and Chicago and Seattle and New Orleans and a whole slew of other cities did just that in the aftermath of George Floyd. Result? Violent crime that has exploded in all those places, and the people that live in these places now demanding more cops, and more laws and more jails than even before, because they have no deeper understanding of the causes and effects of violent crime. They just want to drive to the grocery store without getting carjacked. "Free trade above all! Trade without whoever I want!" shouts the anarchist. OK...I'm no fan of government monetary policy myself. So, over the course of just one lifetime, we sold off the largest manufacturing economy the world has ever seen, to the lowest bidders, mostly in the third world or Asia. Result? Over thirty trillion in national debt, the utter collapse of the middle class, stagnant wages and open, unabashed Marxist revolution sweeping through every single institution in the country.

Sure it would have. Marxist Malthusians have convinced themselves that, of all the causes of the "existential threats to planet earth", from global warming to plastic trash islands to holes in the ozone, the root cause is clear: there are way too many of us. And they are working, across the globe, to manufacture a viral bio-weapon that can be controlled, managed and protected from, that will be used to kill off 7-8 billion people. The West is suicidal, world weary, cynical, corrupt, addicted and decedent; we no longer have the basic will to survive anymore, let alone do what needed to be done once it was clear what had happened at Wuhan. As you noted, in many ways we were guilty of it in the first place. But what was it that needed to be done?

So I still had some words left over that needed being said.) Pic tax:

Critical Education Theory Series, Part 20: Paulo Freire's Marxist Easter for Educators The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Episode 90 (15 August 2022) This episode of the New Discourses Podcast continues a long miniseries exploring Paulo Freire’s landmark 1985 book The Politics of Education: Culture, Power, and Liberation, and it is embedded in the broader Critical Education Theory series here. In the previous part, James Lindsay presented the ideas in the ninth chapter of that book, where Freire outlines that the purpose of education is to humanize Man and the world, exactly as indicated by Karl Marx. post #1 of this thread. - OB] In this episode, the last in the formal educational series covering this book, James takes up the first part of the very weird tenth chapter of The Politics of Education, wherein Freire discusses Liberation Theology and the Role of the Church as a parallel educational institution. In this first part of this shocking chapter, before turning to the role he envisions for churches, Freire explains the religious conversion educators must go through in order to be “true” educators. He describes it as a process of spiritual death and rebirth, literally an Easter educators and religious leaders must go through to be resurrected on the side of the oppressed. This is the religious heart of the so-called “pedagogy of the oppressed” at the center of Freire’s entire project and legacy. Join James to understand how Freire enabled the theft of education so that it could be transformed into religious education for the Theology of Marxism. https://odysee.com/@newdiscourses:9/paulo-freire's-marxist-easter-for:f paulo-freire%27s-marxist-easter-for/f31b4834ce727e50dd4e5dfe193965e6bd418cc3

I am all for unfettered trade with other countries but, there are countries that trade and puts heavy tariffs on our goods.. I am a supported of goods made in the USA. No reason why we cannot get almost everything we need here.

Meh. As "Thing X is just a distraction from Thing Y" narratives go, this one is pretty weak. I mean, what is there new to say about the "Afghanistan disaster", other than that the Earth has made one full orbit of the Sun since it occurred? Or how many of the people who would be inclined to think that the "FBI/Whitmer entrapment case" is "bad" do not already think so? And so on. How is "I support/oppose things other than the current thing" really any less blinkered, flighty, or capriciously obsessive than the "I support/oppose the current thing " phenomenon? (Different sides, same coin.) How long will it be before the "Trump Raid" is added to the list of things from which we are being distracted by some newer thing? When is it ever not possible to compose a menu of items that deserve more attention than they are being (or have been) given?

I agree. I do not think any subject area should be regarded as forbidden to academic investigation or scholarly consideration (including any of various paraphilias). But some subject areas are more worthy of consideration and investigation than others (especially when they are conducted on the public dime) - and in any case, when it comes to subject matter that is otherwise objectionable, such endeavors should strive to be as neutral in character as possible, rather than apologetic (such as in an attempt to "rehabilitate" otherwise objectionable subject matter by normalizing it or making it seem less objectionable). Seeking to understand a thing does not require condoning or endorsing it. The work by this Karl Andersson person is pretty clearly of the latter kind. Given just the material presented in this thread, it is pretty clear he is using the academy as cover for indulging in a kind of public exhibitionism of his own personal pedophilic fixations - that is, he may well get some kind of "kick", not just out of the subject matter itself, but also out of talking about his own indulgence of it under the guise of an otherwise "respectable" venue (in this case, a scholarly journal). There is also at least some reasonable basis for suspicion that he might have gone beyond mere "thought crime" and into actual crime. For just one example, this is from the Vice interview referenced in the last tweet in post #7 above:

Hey old friend. Your inbox is full or else I'd have sent this there.

This election has me at the point of no hope for the future of this nation. And I occasionally remember the good people from RPFs and all the time we had exchanging ideas and creating our own little online community.

I read a bit of your latest comments about holding the line so maybe we can gather a counter-force. Whelp. Time is up. I'm a bit sad the forum is not as active as in days gone by, but things change.

Swiss gun ownership: one of the perks of maintaining a healthy, national identity, while remaining cosmopolitan, liberal, and rather open. Legal immigration there is actually well regulated and up in the past 30 years, according to some articles. Its a shame our national ethos is immature or nonexistant by comparrison.

HAHA! I just saw your post in another thread (I was catching up on forum drama) about Mr A putting me on a leash. I don't think he would do that to me if he could. Even though he complains about my oversharing sometimes (not on the forum but IRL. I'm not good at filtering), he knows I'm a good girl and despite my outward personality, I'm a surprisingly solid and committed person underneath. We've been together since I was 23 (24 years/married 20), he knows everything - even stuff he'd rather not know.
