We're products of colonial history, too, Einstein. While your ancestors were blithely allowing hungry children to be executed for stealing loaves of bread--and saying oh, gee, that must be the right thing to do or the king wouldn't be doing it--our ancestors were getting the hell out and burning our bridges behind us. That's why countless of these situations get prevented here by armed citizens who take out the psychotic before he or she can hurt more than one innocent person. But, of course, you won't believe me when I tell you that, because you didn't see it on the BBC. Well, you know, we don't mind if you remain willfully ignorant. But we wish you'd stop acting surprised when we don't fall on our faces and thank you for your half-baked, ill-considered, terrible, unsolicited advice on how we should run a country which you could never hope to understand or appreciate. If you're so sure you understand the finer points of this situation, let me ask you this: What did Hitler do to the Roma, and the Jews, and the communists like you, first? Give up? He disarmed them first. That was his first order of business. Now, what if they had refused to comply? Would that have been a terrible thing? Of course, you're going to tell me that was a different situation. Hitler was involved. And I have to admit, Trump doesn't look much like Hitler. He looks a lot more like Mussolini. But what he's doing to Northern Africa, it took both Il Duce and his crazy buddy to do. So you'll just have to excuse us if we choose to retain the ability to protect our Jews. And if you don't like it, well, we've already made several helpful suggestions about what you can do...

Deflating tires doesn't keep a vehicle from applying power to the wheels. Deflating tires just prevents the driver from being able to steer the thing the right direction. Attempted murder. Attempted fucking murder. That's not criminal negligence. That's not psychotic stupidity. That is an attempt to murder that guy.

That, and federal discrimination laws force employers to use degree requirements instead of intelligence tests. Damn hippie liberals made a simple IQ/aptitude test (or very rough equivalent thereof) cost 5-6 figures and 4 years you'll never get back. :p

+rep Last I heard, the MCCD *wants* to get 4 year programs (particularly at Phoenix College), but hasn't quite yet. Know what sucks about transferring credits? If you do it at ASU, they severely limit the amount you can transfer in your major(general requirements they're cool about) so you have to spend a ton on coursework and materials that just isn't worth what it costs. :p

Community colleges only offer 2 year degrees. (unless you have some exceptional ones in your area I've never heard of) 2 year degrees are good for a number of things, but not everything. It's common for design firms to require a BA nowadays for example, even though you don't actually need to get one to develop the skills for the job. Easy way to narrow down the field of applicants, but often shuts out good people. #doubleedgedsword

I know some people who have been hard core 100% Ron Paulers since 2007, and they still are, and they too had a negative report on the RonPaulCurriculum. They tried it for 2 years and will not be going back. Their complaints centered on the online support area.

"Nowadays we have diplomats work on wars for years before arranging them. That's so when it's over, nobody will know what they were fighting for. We lost thousands and spent billions, and you could hand a sheet of paper to one million different people and tell 'em to write down what the last war was for, and the only answer that will be alike will be, 'Damned if I know.'"--Will Rogers

I bet against markets in 2008. Then bet on them again one fine afternoon in October, and have been since. Worked really, really well. Just because you say I should allow myself to be fleeced with a gambler's flock doesn't mean I'm not going to try to repeat my performance. Because fuck you, that's why. That said, it's true it's dumb to sell after the drop. But while the 'going back up' part has always happened to the market as a whole, it doesn't always happen for the individual stocks that make the market up. Does it?

Oh, I agree completely. But at this point, are the fundamentals really everything he says they are? The trick isn't to decide if the bulls or the bears are right, because they do always both get proven right in the end. The trick is figuring out when each is going to be right. The volatility has started. Four and a half percent corrections are not the apocalypse, but they bear watching (so to speak). 2008 taught us that volatility is still a sign. But the big question is not whether Schiff saying it's 'near' means it'll happen any time soon. The big question is, is the next correction going to be as deep and wide as he says it is? That's not a question of whether Schiff should ever be listened to in matters of timing. That's a matter of whether the fundamentals are as he says they are, or if the system can blow us a few more bubbles. Schiff never believed it could blow a bubble this big, while Zippy thinks it can blow a bubble of infinite size. Well, neither one is credible. So, when do we stop believing the one and realize the other is about to get his turn to be right?

And? Once again, I refer you to what the market did between 1929 and 1932. A big bubble was blown, and then that bubble blew. We won't know if Schiff was right or wrong until we see where this 25,000 point bubble goes. Will we? You can keep pointing out that there's a bubble which hasn't popped yet until you're blue in the fingers. But the fact of the matter is, by bragging about the ripe fullness of the bubble you're merely pointing out that there's a bubble.

In before Zippy tells us the Fed only controls the money supply, it has nothing to do with the balance of supply and demand where our money is concerned.

And? If you're thinking the stock market can't rise during the early stages of a depression, go review what it did between November of 1929 and the spring of 1932. If we weren't, why was the Fed printing all that money at the time? Just because they like making money the old fashioned way?

Not yet. Did he say it was already underway? Or did he merely say it was inevitable if the U.S. continued blowing this bubble, sooner or later? It wasn't sooner. Later isn't over yet, and you know it.

Is that what he predicted in 2008? No? Then how is that a schtick? If the man believes we reacted to 2008 by blowing bigger and bigger bubbles, and that it's going to be a Big Bang when they pop, then that's his prediction. If that was his whole schtick, he's have been predicting that prior to 2008. He wasn't. Has this dead cat bubble bounce lasted far, far longer than he expected? Has he denied that? And how do you square 'Banks fail. Runaway inflation. Gold going a lot higher,' with, 'Eventually there will be another one, and he will again claim he is always right'? Is 'another one' his prediction, or is 'banks fail, runaway inflation' his prediction? Can't you make up your mind?

Well, Rand is a successful candidate too. And what he does is try to show how he's representing his voters without causing them discomfort by destroying their cherished myths, or alienating them by telling them how they're lying to themselves. That's how he won a statewide election, which is more than his father ever did. When should he stop pretending Trump can be salvaged? When the polls indicate 50% of Kentucky voters see through him? When polls indicate 50% of Kentucky Republicans see through him? Just remember--when he does stop pretending, he can no longer go to Trump and say, 'I'm the only person in this town giving you cover, but I can't keep it up unless you throw the voters this bone...'
