I don't think Rand will run again. He does good work in the Senate, but he rubbed elbows with the good ole boys for too long to be able to pull off POTUS for the masses. I think celebs will be the new norm. Clooney (D) vs The Rock (R) 2024

Allow me to posit another theory. What will move us toward more human freedom... truly? I am a firm believer that we need nothing short of some serious hard times for the ball to be moved even in inch in that direction. Therefore it follows that whatever will bring us closer to 'hard times' would be the most appropriate remedy to the current predicament, no? I say let the Ocasio Corez's and the Bernies and Antifa wield the levers of power for a while... I'm here in flyover country and we've been WAITING for such an event... this will end up with one of several likely scenarios: 1) Secession/Peaceful dissolution, 2) Civil Conflict 3) Fill in the blank.... I think any outcome is better than preserving the status quo. To summarize: Let them come.

My thoughts exactly. Very suspect. The usual suspects who generally give fellatio to the Saudis are all sabre rattling and talking about 'consequences.' Pence, Graham, all are turning on the House of Saud

Humans are fickle things. I think Ron Paul was right. Freedom was popular... however seeing that logic and reason often give way to charlatans selling fear and emotion... when Ron Paul was kicked to the wayside, many let their emotions turn to anger, and Trump was swept into office. I still hold that Tytler's Cycle of Democracies holds true. There isn't much this country can do to avoid the pain that's coming. Ron Paul could've post-poned things a little, Trump may do the same. In the end I think it will result in positive change. We will have some serious hard times ahead, but humans have always met the challenge. Let us hope we are still able to do so. What this country needs is more strong hard men, and you know what they say... hard times create strong men. We can be thankful, in a way, for the coming hard times.

The catalog company that missed the internet. Instead, their brilliant leadership chased Nordstrom. They shunned their heritage, just like VW did to the compact car, and HD did with the development of the v-rod. "We're not a catalog company any more - we sell more than tools... Come see our softer side". Morons... What was wrong with being the catalog king? The same morons that shrugged off the catalog went and acquired lands end (a catalog company), after spending tons trying to shed their catalog reputation. What was wrong with tools? People were willing to pay more to buy craftsman - the screwdriver/prybar/chisel that was a must have for the average household. How's that shareholder value treatin' ya? Hey, maybe after the company is a total ash heap, ridding them selves of their "executive talent", and shareholder value, they can start an online catalog business?

There are low caste folks in IT - folks from family farms who can also afford to buy "luxury products". While it seems that Indians are still very socially/class aware, there are plenty who have penetrated the caste system. If your point is that there are people who will buy for status, I didnt get the impression that HD was even on the radar... A "motorbike" is a common folk mode of transportation. Folks with money will hire a full time driver, to drive them in their Audi diesel, or Mercedes Benz (fully equipped with crash bumpers and heavy duty nerf bars). The common folk arent going to be buying HD's any time soon - they'd rather spend a month's salary on a phone or tech gadget, and continue to ride their Yamahas, Heros, and the occasional `Enfield.

LOL - now HD can more competitively sell their bikes to a country who's average household income is $290 per month... If 100cc yammi can ride 5 up, a big ol hawg should get 50+. Is this even news worthy? Did HD come out with a 100cc econo-model? You're big pimpin' in India if you have a 350 cc Royal Enfield.

Seems to be the only vulnerability in DC. You can swindle tax payers, completely defraud orphanages - screw over the country blind, without recourse. But if you fk your intern, text a picture of your c0ck, lift a skirt of a high school classmate, or play with your c0ck-n-ballz in front of some drunk coeds, you're finished. At least there is some vulnerability - maybe that should be employed more frequently?

I was put off by Joe - one of a handful of times. If Elon dropped his member on the table and told Joe to staaaaart suck'n, Joe would have clapped his hands and started going to town. Anyhow, I think both Elon and Alex are full of sh!t, with regards to life simulation. The AI concern I have is that people who dont have purpose in life become very unhappy and destructive. That, in my opinion, is a much greater threat to human existence than robots taking over the world. We're already seeing ~15% of the population who practically have nothing to contribute to society - some might argue that this number is much higher. Maybe Trumps trade war will set us back a few decades, delaying the destruction of society by AI?

systemd was necessary. The old sysinit created delays and hang points. I think systemd, once its more mature and people understand it, will be just fine. I like that we can independently set ulimits and easily establish dependencies. No complaints other than it was something new that required us to port things over (no turnkey system upgrades). Linus probably has a different perspective of LINUX than many of the project's contributors. He's also big enough where he simply doesnt give a sh!t about people's feelings. I wouldn't consider his behavior to be unique, or surprising. Anyhow, there are some who will look to push their equality of outcome agenda. That is, unless the occupation is plumber or garbage man.

Who the fk cares? The show has puppets - aside from Guy Smiley, I dont think any of them even remotely resemble human. I'd be more concerned about every other show now, where the token tranny, interracially gay couple, is likely to create more concern and confusion and concern amongst children. I explain to my children that although its that man's right to dress like a woman, its not his right to be accepted as normal. I would never condone violence, and I would ask my children to refrain from all out laughter. You want big hairy t!ts, that's your business, not mine - dont make it my business and we'll be just fine.

Man, kinda not Liberty related, but I've found myself becoming more and more in agreement with reformed theology over the last few years, and remembered SolaFide was always mentioning reformed churches/reformed theology. Back in 2012 I had no idea what that was, much less what Sola Fide meant, so was just gonna see if he was still worries though.

Humility is a virtue, and I embrace anyone that strives for it, no matter which path they take.

    Actions speak louder than words.

Watch my feet, not my mouth.

That's why I love Ron Paul!!!!!

And Lord knows I'm far from perfect, too!

Well... like I say - It's not meant to be a quote

I like the Old Testament for the history of that part of the world, particularly the history of the Jews.

I like the New Testament for the teachings of Jesus. Don't care much for the teachings of Paul.

I think we (the West) can learn a lot from the spirituality of India regarding killing, vegetarianism, and karma.

I consider myself 'spiritual', rather than 'religious'.

My favorite church in town is a Hare Krishna temple

nah... I don't think so ("don't kill" vs "don't murder")

I like the King James Version "don't kill". He assembled the greatest biblical scholars in Europe at the time - arguably the most intensely researched translation in history.

Plus, 'murder' implies (by definition) that we shouldn't kill humans, while 'kill' implies we shouldn't kill anything - if we don't have to. I feel the same way. Bad karma.
