My strong suspicion is that the moment Biden is sworn in, Theye will go into full swing. It seems to me that Theye have to move quickly for several reasons. Firstly, strike while the iron is hot - an age old precept - and the iron is at bright, sparking heat. Secondly, if Theye do not take the initiative out of the gate, every moment they waste opens the door further to the possibility, however remote, that enough Americans will get wise and start to move in strongly contrariwise strokes. Theye are THIS close to getting what they want - the final wracking of America. In point of reality, Theye probably don't have to move with such dispatch because so far as I can see, the so-called "real" Americans, aren't. Chances are we will do nothing of substance to stop them, but were I in the position of the Democrats, I would not assume this. I would assume that our demise was imminent and that we needed to strike now and with complete authority before a critical mass has the opportunity to come to some sense. World's about to become interesting.

And this, ladies and gents, is why the left is winning and is just this side of closing the deal for good. No matter what, they suck each others' dicks. The value of cohesion is difficult to overstate. The so-called "liberty movement" doesn't even rate as a joke. Talk is all they do, and they don't even stand by each other, but pick and bitch and insult each other, usually on points of stupid purity. And so here we stand, four days from the end of life as we knew it, the changes all for the worse. Good job. We should all be very proud of ourselves, especially when the left starts in on us on 1/21... if they even wait that long.

You didn't stop in at our place? I'm hurt. What amazes me on a most personal level is my good friend Marshall. I've known him 30 years now. He is an agricultural engineer, grain farmer, 2A defender, a fellow blacksmith, and for Pete's sake he's a Jew. Yet he listens to NPR as if it were religion and anything they say is truth. He hates Trump with a passion, which is fine with me were it well reasoned... though a bit inconsistent when I consider how many times he has gone on almost in hippie style about how hatred is not a good thing. He will always be my friend, but I most sadly feel something of a gulf forming between us, and all because of this Trump nonsense and people's inability or unwillingness to maintain a rational perspective.

Well, this is either the time to toss up the hands and be happier, or the time when happiness has become irrelevant. And to be very frank, I cannot tell which it is, so you may well have chosen wisely. As for me, my "give a shits" are at a fraction of one. Biden will be sworn in and Theye are going to go full tilt against anyone not on their knees.

Should I overlook the coincidence of the lottery jackpots being incredibly huge right at the time that every one is getting their stimmies??? As of today, Powerball's at $640 Million and Megamillions is at $750 Million. Is this part of the clever plan to dispense fake money and have the poor people give it right back to the government?

The saddest art about this is that about half the population is saying, "IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!" That's what scares me more than FEMA.

This is nuts. This is the type of thing that happens with occupying armies - not a new administration.

Well, it worked for the elections... Look, we're in lala land here. Perception is the only thing that matters and as long as they can control perception, reality is theirs to mold as they wish. Little inconvenient bits of truths like this video can sneak through, but the public has an uncanny ability to ignore anything outside of the narrative. Hell, Snowden dropped a megaton of truth and many still think of him as a traitor.

Sorry, that won’t stand up in court. Anyone can title a post however they want. See? So, obviously, since there’s no proof, it didn’t happen. I suppose you could audit the thread history, but why do that since there’s no proof? (See how silly that sounds?)

Sounds like some shady conspiracy theory. We can clearly see the title of this thread. There is absolutely zero proof that something changed after you posted.

CaptUSA replied to a thread Lobbyists in Grassroots Central
I'd say in most circles. At least at the corporate level. Finding and pleasing customers is hard. And there's always so much competition. Not only with your competitors, but with other industries where people could spend their money. Much easier to convince a congresscritter that you have a good argument they can sell to their constituents on a nice giveaway that benefits your interests. And with an unlimited checkbook, the high reward/low risk of begging for dollars will never stop. In fact, the only way to stop a free giveaway in today's environment is to have some competing interest with deep pockets that doesn't want it passed.

CaptUSA started a thread Lobbyists in Grassroots Central
I'm involved in energy policy as part of my day job. My job is to stay abreast of policy proposals and industry movements. That means I attend lots of lobbyist calls. I'm on one right now... So, what do they think of the upcoming administration??? I imagine this is happening with all kinds of special interest groups right now. No discussion of where the money is coming from - just so excited about how much they're going to be getting. This is pretty sickening.

Yeah, you can never tell anymore. These people are not really known for the strict adherence to principles. Republicans had traditionally been opposed to foreign wars of adventurism, but that changed for 20-30 years there.

Ironically, I wonder if we'll see them take a more open position to free trade. Historically, the left has been the party of controlled trade, but Trump sorta co-opted that policy. I guess the question becomes, did they really shift their thinking or was it just a show to oppose Trump?

230 is funny. Democrats hate it and want it repealed entirely. https://www.theverge.com/2020/1/17/21070403/joe-biden-president-election-section-230-communications-decency-act-revoke They think that it allows companies to promote false information. Democrats never liked free speech anyway - they just want to be the ones controlling speech and allowable information. Trump had a problem with 230(c)(2) which provided additional protection for companies to remove content that they didn't like as long as they did it in "good faith". From my perspective, I'd like to see a class action litigation to determine what constitutes, "good faith". I really think that would solve the problem. It would encourage stronger two-way contracts, foster competition and protect the free speech of participants on these sites without fear of censorship of political viewpoints.

That is not going to happen. Trump is the star of the show! The specter of Trump is great for ratings and fundraising. Now each politician will figure out how best to position himself within the ranks and with their donors and (to a far lesser extent) their constituents, but Trump will remain the centerpiece of their focus.

Yeah, I don't think 230 needs repealed... Just a civil litigation of 230(c)(2).

My personal story (pt2)

by CaptUSA on 02-24-2016 at 09:57 AM
Among my many interests was electricity and I decided that I wanted to change how the industry operates. Understanding the free market as I did, I was pissed that the coolest discovery in the history of mankind was being regulated to death by the government. I wanted to change that.

I found a job as a part-time temporary meter reader. My girlfriend went ballistic that I was quitting a salaried job for a part-time temp job, but I had complete confidence in what I was doing. Meter

My personal story (pt 1)

by CaptUSA on 02-24-2016 at 09:55 AM
I’ve never used this blog feature before, but since people have wondered (and asked) about my personal story, I figured it was best to do it in here rather than the forums.

It may come across as anecdotal, but I assure you that this same type free market story is working itself out all over the country and the globe. Even in the face or increasing government interference.

I was born in Western PA the third of four boys. When I was still a baby, the second child died
