None of the incidents in your article qualify any definition of "mass shooting" that I'm aware of. None had 4 or more victims. https://crim.sas.upenn.edu/fact-check/what-mass-shooting-what-can-be-done In the United States, there are several different, but common, definitions of mass shootings. The Congressional Research Service defines mass shootings, as multiple, firearm, homicide incidents, involving 4 or more victims at one or more locations close to one another. The FBI definition is essentially the same. Often there is a distinction made between private and public mass shootings (e.g., a school, place of worship, or a business establishment). Mass shootings undertaken by foreign terrorists are not included, no matter how many people die or where the shooting occurs. These formulations are certainly workable, but the threshold of 4 or more deaths is arbitrary. There are also important exclusions. For example, if 10 people are shot but only 2 dies, the incident is not a mass shooting. Homicides by other means also are not counted. If 5 people are purposely run down and killed by an individual driving motor vehicle, the deaths do not count because a firearm is not involved. There also are inclusions that can seem curious because the motives of perpetrators are not considered when defining a mass shooting.

Thanks for that update. Even more that strengthens my resolve that natural remedies are the way out of this pandemic. Magnesium citrate is like $3.50 a bottle.

The post on a black Seventh-Day Adventist Facebook group. Sadly my Aunt passed away recently due to Covid, and she was actually vaccinated. She lived in a state that has a low vaccination rate and no indoor mask mandate. I believe the Delta variant is at high rates there as well. Another Aunt has a brother-in-law who was just intubated due to Covid. He was anti-vax and anti-mask. He will probably die too, as the survival rates once someone is intubated are low. This problem will only be solved when at least 90% of the population cooperates with the precautions. If you don’t want the vaccine, then wear a mask. Preferably an N95 which is best able to filter small particles like viruses. Avoid large gatherings and practice good hygiene to avoid the spread should you unknowingly contract and carry the virus. The instructions are very simple, but illogical thinking and rebelliousness have taken over, so here we are….. And my response?

Great idea! We have got to take activism to another level. Talking to each other online about solutions isn't enough.

There's a lot of flat Mojave between Kingman and the Colorado River. Someone who slapped some asphalt on it and charged trucking companies to park container trailers, so Approved Tractors can shuttle from there west, and the semitractors the rest of the continent uses can swap westbound for eastbound loads, could make a killing.

California just decided half the trucks serving their ports belch too many pollutants. The cranes are operating on orders, because you can only stack containers so high while waiting for Approved Semi Tractors. Were you waiting for the government or CNN to tell you what's really going on? You should live so long.

I remember the seventies. This isn't fifty year inflation. This isn't hundred year inflation. This hasn't happened on this continent since the Continental and Confederate dollars. This is we used to carry our currency to market in a pocket and the groceries home in a basket; now we carry currency to the market in a basket and the groceries home in a pocket. This is Trump gifted Big Pharma not millions, not billions, but trillions hyperinflation.

And he says he invented them, and they should be named for him. And he gave the criminals foisting them on us trillions, which is why the price of everything is through the roof. How long are you going to keep trying to spin a good light around this criminal? See, if you want to know what the deranged really look like, find a mirror.

What is surprising is the people who committed a string of riots are not accused of violence, and the people who have basically not done a damned thing, whose window breakage ratio is thousands : two, are being accused of the violence.

How did you measure that? How did you account for the cumulative effect of those other factors? How did you adjust for the fact that printing rose from inflationary to hyperinflationary levels at Warp Speed under--oh. This is just more Trump spin, more derangement, more apologia. Never mind. I didn't ask you to say anything rational. Yeah, um, no, rational statements are not expected at all. Let us know when your broken little heart heals.

The best activism is to use the exit. It always is. That's one of the reasons the free market works so well - it's easy to exit if you're not satisfied. Trying to get a school board to listen to protesters may work a little sometimes. I'm sure there'll be some wins there. But removing children is THE best thing anyone can do. We should make signs to picket along side these parents, "PULL YOUR KIDS OUT: They won't understand anything else." And then give them the information in those online resources. I wonder if there's any organizations that would help with that effort?

Man, the more I see this guy, the more I like him. I'm not necessarily a religious person, but it's great to see the value that his religious understanding is giving him. They're going to try to tear him down. They'll say he's promoting his book and apparel company. They'll demean his motivations. They'll dig into his past. And they'll make sure those ventures fail. He'll be lucky if they don't fabricate some scandal against him. He needs strength, but it looks like he has it. He just needs to keep it.

As for the logjam, shippers will rediscover the Panama Canal sooner or later. And all the ships which aren't too broad of beam to fit through it will suddenly become more valuable. I like it when California shoots itself in the foot. It works for me.

If you like the Panhandle, you had better expect--and even woo--company. To invoke the secession clause of the Texas Constitution, you may have no choice but place the referendum before three Oklahoma counties, and significant portions of New Mexico, Kansas and Colorado. There may be no other legal way to do it.

My personal story (pt2)

by CaptUSA on 02-24-2016 at 09:57 AM
Among my many interests was electricity and I decided that I wanted to change how the industry operates. Understanding the free market as I did, I was pissed that the coolest discovery in the history of mankind was being regulated to death by the government. I wanted to change that.

I found a job as a part-time temporary meter reader. My girlfriend went ballistic that I was quitting a salaried job for a part-time temp job, but I had complete confidence in what I was doing. Meter

My personal story (pt 1)

by CaptUSA on 02-24-2016 at 09:55 AM
I’ve never used this blog feature before, but since people have wondered (and asked) about my personal story, I figured it was best to do it in here rather than the forums.

It may come across as anecdotal, but I assure you that this same type free market story is working itself out all over the country and the globe. Even in the face or increasing government interference.

I was born in Western PA the third of four boys. When I was still a baby, the second child died
