Like I said, at least until recently it was normal operating procedure for Air France pilots to have a glass of wine with their dinner while flying. Was Air France a poor airline because of this ? Don't know, but I've never heard it caused a crash or any sort of significant issue. Like said before, I'd be more worried about someone following the rules so strictly it causes a dangerous situation than a pilot who is responsible and has a single drink at dinner. :) But that's just me, I'd rather live in a world where people use common sense than blindly follow rules. Even if this were to be a more dangerous world. Interesting>dangerous.

The word civil stems from Latin.. The Romans were so called 'civilized', they held slaves, conquered other peoples lands, forced their laws on them. Men and women were not equal, slaves were not people at all but simply property. They watched people massacre each other for fun, they destroyed other cultures on purpose... So yeah, oh and some of the peoples they conquered, actually believed that men and women are equal, that crimes should not be punished but the guilty person would have to pay the victim or their family damages. People that did not believe in the death penalty.. And these people we generalize as "barbarians". So yeah, depending on how you look at things, you may not want to call yourself civilized. Still, words have evolved to mean different things for different people, but, in this world where everything is regulated and codified into law - a very Roman thing - you could argue that the word is still keeping to it's original meaning. In any case, if we stick to the modern meaning of "being decent and moral" (or something like that), then I'd say it's very civilized to have a beer in the cockpit but not touch it, it shows these pilots have good restraints and take their job seriously. They do not allow themselves to be distracted by the can of beer that happens to be there . Personally I'd be a lot more worried if pilots would refuse to fly because there is a can of beer in the cockpit, if that is the case, they have their priorities wrong.

Whut ? If I fly as a passenger I always drink a lot, no problem. I remember drinking two bottles of wine on a transatlantic flight with Alitalia, an almost empty airplane so the stewardesses told us, take what you want and left the cart in the aisle. :p Don't remember having a hard time getting alcohol in the morning either. Also I'm pretty sure in business class you get a glass of champagne in the morning, if you wish.

Used to be that pilots from Air France were served a glass of wine when they were having dinner on duty. I believe this is now discontinued but this used to be normal... Now we have "IMSAFE" Illness Medication Stress Alcohol

Wow, 3.23 percent. That's a giant difference when there are still (more than) 42 million people on foodstamps.

Well, I don't hate the environment but I don't see how using less water impacts the environment where I live. As far as I know we generally have too much water here that at any point we could tap to make potable water, so yeah... Don't care about that. And yes, I would also pay double. I do this for many things, I have expensive chef's knives, why, they are nice and they are still nice in 5 years time. I had a cheap one before, it broke in half when I was using it to pound spices, poor quality steel and tempering. What I'm trying to say is, if at all possible, I'll pay a lot for something that lasts a long time... And in most cases this means buying the lowest tech form of some tool or object.

Well, the only downside to having an old washing machine is that you're very likely to look at it for years to come. :D If you get a new one, well, in a few years you can go for a different look again.

Would you pay double or more for a washing machine if it came with a 20 year full warranty ?

My work is what used to be my hobby. Not a bad thing in itself, the bad part is that I'm completely immersed and hardly leave myself any spare time. :D From an employment perspective however, things are golden.

why should I? The covering of the head represents submission to God , modesty and respect. It is Something that is relative to culture and time.

A man should never search for the truth with an agenda, that is a sure fire way to never finding truth.

If you believe that the New Testiment is Paul's Opinion and not God's word. THen you must reject the whole bible as Man's opinion because non of it was actually written by Jesus himself. You may have read the bible, but your understanding of it is clearly limited. My intent is to present the truth of God, when i see it being misrepresented. BTW was not Jesus who said Matthew 10:34-36. "Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to 'set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law';and 'a man's enemies will be those of his own household.'" Was that Matthew's opinion?

my intent was never to make anyone cry. However, I only shared what the gospel teaches. That may offend some people, but it also brings clarity to others. My hope will be that she find that clarity. As far ad me being a hate filled biggot. You are allowed to voice your opinion, but I will say how can I be hate filled I don't hate you or her or anyone else for that matter.
