Pardon me, but which finite resources, dickhead? Coal? Natural gas? Okay, sure - eventually we'll run out of those things. But you don't seem to understand that human ingenuity is a real and actual thing - Do you want to know how I KNOW that? It's because before coal and natural gas became sources of power and, in your fucked up mind, "pollutants", they were bits of nothing within and on the earth. It wasn't until - here we go again - human beings comingled their intellect with those things - that they became sources of energy. That process isn't done yet. No matter how much regressives like you may wish. And - speaking as a person making his living off of natural gas - I actually 100% welcome the day when cold fusion becomes a reality, or whatever other as-unyet-tapped-source-of-energy rolls our wheels forward! You're just another control freak, assuming you know exactly what, and in what measure, human beings require. You're wrong, of course... and your HUMBRIS will result in the death of millions.

On one hand, yeah, you can't really say that the 2070 ice age is definitely not coming... ...On the other hand, if the Harold Campings of the world only get three or four tries before they get mercilessly lampooned, I think a paltry five wrong predictions for the Church of Scientism is enough to give them the same treatment, and we were past that many four decades ago.

Have you ever driven across the United States? I have, east-west and north-south through the heartland of this country. You want to know what is there? NOTHING. There are hundreds of miles that you can drive without seeing more than 2 buildings at a single time. And that's JUST the US. I'm sure that it's even more barren through Russia, China, vast sections of Africa, etc. The trope that the planet is overpopulated is nonsense. I'm old enough to remember when the Cayahoga river was on fire. I'm old enough to remember when you couldn't see Pittsburgh when you were sitting on top of it. There maybe parts of the world that are dirty and polluting, but it ain't here. You know who thinks that the planet is overpopulated and dirty? People who live in overpopulated and dirty cities.

Nevertheless, I'm going to refrain from applying the stereotype of the sheltered, ignorant American who has no idea that "Indian" is a word encompassing dozens of different cultures, no matter how appropriate in this case.

Bunch of people in here who seem to be able to foretell the future. Kinda surprising that you're posting on an internet backwater forum given how rich you must obviously be. The point in the OP was that there is no clear lane for the Liberty Movement in the current US/global political traffic pattern. Secessionism is one clear and unoccupied area where we could stake our flag. The fact is, it will come. Sure as God made little green apples, it will come. If we're occupying the space when the moment arrives, we'll have the upper hand. Think about that.

Oh do you think I hate you? I don't hate you. I'm just pointing out for all to see that you've handled yourself inappropriately with regard to another member here. And be honest - you're not reflecting anything back at anyone - you're the ignorant, insincere douche nozzle. You're not fooling anyone with this bullsht, least of all yourself.

Yeah, I know. In fact, I specifically said that I do not care why you write what you write: Yeah, I'm flinging bullsht, because I think you're a dck, and I didn't care for what you said, and because the moderators seem to allow you to operate here without discipline so someone should say something. That's kind of exactly how you operate here. So I'm wondering why you seem to have a problem with what I'm saying?

UWDude, this is exactly why I think Chris is a valuable contributor, and I appreciate his posts here - he actually has something insightful to contribute, backed with obvious knowledge of the subject matter. He doesn't just condescendingly spout off unsubstantiated bullsht. That's what you do - you condescendingly spout of unsubstantiated bullsht, then act like everyone else is an idiot for not adopting your unsubstantiated bullsht. Thinking people require more than unsubstantiated bullsht before they're willing to attach their reputation to it. Maybe someday you'll get that.

Yeah, I don't care. About any of that. I only posted what I did to confront you, because I think what you said was dick-ish. I don't give a sht about you either. That's how I feel about people who represent themselves the way you do. And I don't care why you post what you post. I don't care how you think your mind works. I don't give a fck about your liver. Also, I have no expectation that you would give a sht about me, or mine. I just like Chris and didn't think he deserved to be treated that way. That's how humans work. So - again - go fck yourself. You can probably respect that.

Pardon me, Chris, if I get out of line here... I don't think CCTelander would give one healthy, satisfying sht if you offer him condolences, or not. Yet you seem so desperate to garner a reaction from him. I find that interesting. I also find it interesting that when your bullsht was called out, you scurried away like the coward you are. The fact is, you're a busch-league thinker who probably drinks too much and doesn't have anything else better to do but prowl these forums to try to convince anonymous users that you've figured everything out, giving meaning to your piddly, empty life. Honestly, I sympathize with you.

Now wait a tic there, Bernie... this seems awfully self-absorbed of you. After all, you're campaigning on behalf of The People, whose needs should certainly outweigh any of your own particular wants/needs, no? I'm just not sure We, The People, can allow this kind of personal privilege to persist... I'm somewhat concerned that if you ever actually achieved meaningful political power, you may allow that power to corrupt you personally.

I've been saying for years that the reason why the LGBTQ+ community has risen to power in society is because of the myth of religious and moral neutrality and due to the endorsement of it through legislative measures by both federal and state governments. It's also occurred because the Church has a defeatist eschatology (study of latter times or last days/future), and that has caused a void to be filled by the LGBTQ+ community whereby they can enact their own "Puritanical" movement upon those who dissent and disagree with their sexual lifestyle/preferences. That's really the irony of it all.

Your plan of making everyone over the age of 18 a millionaire still keeps them poor, too, as Yang's plan does; thus, you're not ridding the world of poor people. So, since there are billions of people in the world living in households, then my plan will ensure that every household in the world receives $1 billion. We will tax all billionaires to fund my program, and I will appoint more members to the Federal Reserve Board to ensure we have efficient, reliable quantitative easing to help speed up the process. Vote for me! :check: :money: :handpeace:

What an absurd statement! Do you see what you've assumed there? You've assumed that the government owns 100% of the income in which they tax, and for the government to give a tax cut is for them to allow taxpayers to keep the rest of their money! Your viewpoint is simply in favor of slavery. So, no, tax cuts are not handouts because the income doesn't belong to the government, in the first place. If that's your position, then you seriously need to read some sound economic books, which you can find all over these forums.

I thought my point was pretty clear... my "idiotic" approach is to let the market decide, and the reason my approach is "idiotic" is because there has been a propaganda campaign in place since before I was born to try to destroy internal combustion technology. Gen-Xers grew up hearing about acid rain and a coming ice age. Even when we were toddlers they were hucking environmentalist bullshit. When we were teenagers / young adults, they threw movies like Singles at us: gotta be careful to point out that people who don't want to ram far-reaching and quixotic transit mandates down everyone's throat are the bad guys. They just expect everyone to forget how they've consistently gotten it wrong. They expect everyone to keep going to the movies, and watch objectively horrible movies like Endgame (and take out a second mortgage to be able to see it in the theater), and they don't expect anyone to really think about the five-second quip about how there were pods of whales in the Hudson River and all it took was the low, low price of half of all life in the universe being wiped out. We are all being conditioned to think people like Elon Musk are going to save humanity. We are being conditioned to hate anyone who thinks otherwise. And we have been conditioned to think this way for decades.

This occurs pretty much anytime you penetrate coal seams. This is not specific to unconventional wells in any way - in fact, it's less likely with deep unconventional wells because, as mentioned, the shales that are being fracked are generally thousands of feet below the surface (in Appalachia, the depths range from 6K-13K before they even go horizontal), and there are multiple layers of steel casing and concrete through the vertical sections of the well. Also, to the point of the article, the economic impact of such a prohibition would be staggering. Unconventional drilling has played a big role in the revitalization of the NE rust belt - Southwestern PA, WV, Southeastern OH. It's just an absolute absurdity that this is even a thing. The hysteria over "fracking" is one of the more absurd talking-points in politics today. It's unbelievable that such a "ban" is even a potentiality. This is one of the main reasons I'm an advocate for Appalachian secession.

Had to buy a car battery yesterday - skipped Wally World and spent an extra $30 getting it at Advance Auto. The upshot was they not only looked up the number but went and got it for me as I had both the young kids. But still, it was a lot more money.

LOL the article in the OP is complete BS. No facts or references at all. Just a bunch of hearsay. Though it was very instructive in one sense: the part where it bitches about only 1 in 5 rapists is deported. Newsflash, for you immigration scaremongers: if it was actually a rape, then deportation shouldn't be an option at all.

In other words, the Bodies exhibits lost their popularity a long time ago and the PRC has had to get inventive in how they monetize the remains of their political dissidents. But hey, with the Hong Kong unpleasantness in full swing, their menu prices should be plummeting soon.
