This narrative is gaining a lot of steam and it fuckin' kills me that anyone thinks it's a good idea to make this argument. People who are concerned with racism are currently trying to burn every US city to the ground right now. Even if they're facts, the counter argument from conservatives boils down to "Nyuh-uh, blacks are just more violent!!!!" People, try to think past just the process it takes to type that out. How is it likely to be received?

Thank you, I'm really not sure why this isn't the FIRST example of a white man executed people jump to. Everything people are reacting to with Floyd's murder - the casual nature of it, the fact that he was already incapacitated, the fact that there was an eternity of time for the cops to change their minds, the torturous nature of it, the fact that the system closed ranks around the cops and prevented anything happening from it, it all happened with Nick Christie, and it was eleven fucking years ago, before Ferguson, before Trayvon, before BLM was even conceived.

What's happened in Minneapolis, as well as in other cities, is anarchy. It's stems from the absence of self-government, for those rioters and looters have no temperance upon themselves when it comes to other people's property. Anarchy is sin, and it should be deterred at all costs.

This morning I was finalizing meeting to pick up a planer from a craigslist post, and the guy added "don't forget your mask" It felt good shooting him down. I'm not wearing masks and good luck finding another buyer, I know I was the only interest. Take pleasure in showing them how it feels, when you can.

I appreciate the warning about offense, but having been one for four decades, I'm quite accustomed to heretics and their teachings... I must say he really phoned in the offense. I'm not a member of "a" church, I'm a member of a parish in the one true Church with an unbroken pedigree back to the beginning. My pastor isn't just my pastor... he's a monk, a priest, a bishop, and a metropolitan, which for the Westerners in the crowd, kind of equates to a Cardinal, I guess? And when I first had him to dinner at my house he told me when he became a bishop he was told by another bishop that for the rest of his life he would never eat a bad meal, and he would also not have any friends. Well I resolved at that moment that I would be his friend, and think of him as my friend before I think of any of those other titles. At the beginning of Lent, when things were starting to lock down, he announced to the parish that the official position of the Church about plagues is now, and always has been, that it is all entirely in the hands of God, and while we should not be careless, we should pray daily for His mercy and for the forgiveness of our sins. When Pascha was looming, we had been holding services limited to 10 people in the church and with a signup for rotating post-liturgy communion. We were definitely flying under the radar for all of Lent because our church is pretty backwoods. But with only two notable exceptions, in a parish with pre-Covid regular attendance of 70+, everyone in the parish whose opinions I came to know, unanimously, thought the entire to-do about Covid was complete horseshit. And as we got closer to Pascha, we started to lean on my friend for change. For defiance. And we all followed the standout stories. When the pastor in Florida was arrested, two things became clear to us. The first was that our priest had not been missing any service we regularly did... and in the Orthodox world, that's three per week during Lent, minimum, and if your priest is a monk and a bishop and a metropolitan then that looks more like five, and you're always welcome at his house to do the others that he's not having at the church. TL;DR, he was trying, really trying to get as many people coming to services as he could within the confines of the dictates. And I'm pretty sure his continuation of communion was already defiance.

I'm not intimidated by them, until the time comes when I have to be stopped at a "health checkpoint" in order to show them an "immunity card" that I refuse to carry along. They'll be the ones brandishing guns to enforce an unethical edict of the State. And that's the point. Guns are deterrents, and we all have every right to carry them in whatever way we deem appropriate.

That's the problem. You're making Populism the standard, when it shouldn't be. Populism is the reason why we continue to move further away from any real progress towards small government, sound money, etc. Populism is just sociopolitical relativism, and it always moves with the waves of arbitrary, public opinion. We need candidates who are principled and unafraid to stand on principle, in order for their platforms to remain consistent and objective. When that happens, then it will expose the problems rooted in our society, from the corrupt media organizations to the ignorant populace who continually vote for the very candidates that have destroyed our nation because of the subjectivity of arbitrary laws.

Yes. Our government officials need to be reminded of whom and what they're supposed to be serving, and it's not themselves. If they can hide behind guns (in fact, they have armies and arsenals at their disposals) to intimidate law-abiding citizens with unalienable rights into obeying their edicts, then those citizens have every right to check that power by intimidating them with their own guns.

Yes, and that's because liberals, by the nature of their platform, have to argue their cases from emotional appeals.

This video is satirical, but it hilariously shows the mentality of those who are willing to give up their liberties for more "securities."
