I love when anonymous randos talk about me embarrassing myself. Try slithering your way into the light a little bit, and then maybe we can talk about who is embarrassed by what they say.

Great. Here's the point. You think this asshole is going to actually do those things. To you, that's what "needs" to be done. That's what men do or whatever. I think he's lying. He didn't do it before, he won't do it now. I do however believe that he will do everything in his power to take care of Israel's border.

I'm not "grasping at straws to complain". You Trump supporters have a serious problem comprehending this I think. You have faith that Trump is a good person and that he is sincerely trying to do what he says he's trying to do and I do not. It is as simple as that. Instead of seeing facts for facts, you go around trying to destroy the reputation of everyone who speak ill of Trump or his actions. Trump himself does this (e.g. "Anyone who disagrees with tariffs is controlled by big corporations and China".) Trump is a divisive demagogue and he followers chastise people for not being believers. We used to chastise the left for this disdain for independent thought, but now it's firmly implanted in the MAGA movement. "You are either on or side or you are the enemy".

This implies there are healthy apples. I would think of it as taking a lot of worm balls and making one giant worm ball. This works for Trump, because even though the supply of worms remains the same, there are technically fewer wormballs.

Don't worry, I'm sure Rubio will post every future USAID transaction directly on the website in the spirit of 100% transparency. Not a single dollar will be authorized without Israel's approval.

Granted, but executive orders are to execute the law. JFK did not EO USAID into existence by fiat, he was required to implement the law. Just like Trump can't eliminate the duties USAID was doing on behalf of the law, he still has to do those things. We are getting into a weird space where people think EO's are making law rather than enforcing them. If EO's break the law they are illegal. IF EO's fulfill the law they are legal. If the President refuses to carry out the law (for instance by ignoring the law) the courts can force him to do things by court order. Saying USAID is corrupt is simply saying the executive branch is corrupt. It's a truism. If something illegal was done, where are the charges? Who is being arrested? There won't be any, because it's all "legal", it's just unethical. Well, duh. Instead of arrests you get presidential virtue signaling and bureaucratic restructuring. This is winning apparently. Shuffling bureaucrats and changing agency names around like pedophiles in the Vatican.

That's my opinion/guess. I don't really have a lot of faith that RFK/Tulsi will make much of a difference. I like RFK more than Tulsi, but that's just based on their relative tendencies to flip-flop and position inconsistencies. I think they are valuable to this new technocratic administration the way Colin Powell was valued prior to the Iraq war. They have reputations of having integrity. Something they may need to use up to drag us into the coming war and reorganization of America.

Even this article is full of dumb statements: USAID Absorbed Into State Department Under Rubio After DOGE Crusade https://www.zerohedge.com/political/musk-doge-cuts-usaid-ball-worms-no-apple-must-get-rid-whole-thing Here's a snippet of Musk talking about it, but the whole article has much of the same sentiment: This idea that USAID was an "independent agency feeding the deep state's piggy bank" is silly. There is no independent agency in the executive branch. They all answer to the President. It's literally written in the Foreign Assistance Act, that the President is supposed to give yearly strategic reports and guidance on how to use the money.

It's back-room dealings to secure votes. The vote happens after it's pretty much decided. Meaning, if they have the votes to confirm, they'll hold the vote she'll be confirmed. If they can't get the votes, they'll stall until all methods to secure the vote have tried, and if unsuccessful and there's no recourse, they'll hold the vote and it'll fail.

Well.... 1886457078736138548 Now the goal is more clear. How convenient that Trump gets credit for exposing Covid corruption that occurred on his own watch (2019). But Biden conveniently pardons the people who worked for Trump, you know because Biden is trying to "protect them from political persecution". I said when Fauci was pardoned it was a favor to Trump, because now Trump has no expectation from his base to go after the guy. And now Rubio is "acting director of USAID". Because, as I stated above, legally Trump can only shuffle things around. No matter where he puts the USAID money, or what he chooses to label it as in his new administration, it's the same thing.

I think it's important to understand what Trump can and can't do. USAID is an agency that exists to implement the policy outlined in the "Foreign Assistance Act". Trump himself signed a bill in 2017 amending this act that created new positions within USAID. But I suppose the corruption in USAID just started during the Biden administration. It's fully within the President's power to make sure that foreign aid is following foreign policy, much of which the President has the power to define. Now, "shutting down USAID" basically means nothing outside of a bureaucratic cleansing. Trump does not control the appropriations outside of his veto power. So he can "suspend" and whatnot, and even shuffle that money, but he's got to spend it eventually, or else it will just be spent by the next administration. So as Whitney points out, the real thing happening is that he's consolidating the power within the state dept. I don't deny that the consolidation is good for efficiency, but it is also bad for oversight. How about just ending the Foreign Assistance Act as well as the appropriations?

I'm skeptical. USAID is just an arm of U.S. foreign policy. "Patsy" agencies get shut down, and power players changing costumes. But I'm more than happy to be proven wrong. It's still early. Let's see six months and a year from now how different everything is. If Trump is sincere, it will show in time. 1886415935600239092

The fentanyl talking point is an obvious CYA tactic by both him and JD. The only authority to enact these tariffs comes from the emergency powers IEEPA, so they keep saying "Fentanyl" and "Illegal Aliens" at the end (after they rant about Canada and Mexico treating us unfairly) because they know the courts will weigh in eventually. Trump is using the "protect the border" currency he got from the voters and using it to justify taxing them more. So much for "Mexico paying for it". Sounds like we're paying for it after all. Trump supporters don't even care though, they want to watch it all burn anyway. Trump was always a revenge candidate from the beginning. If we end up sending our sons and daughters to fight and die for Israel like we did to Ukrainians, they'll still cheer it on "We'll settle this once and for all!"

I've actually had a factory job. I ran the packing machine at a factory that made those little foil-topped corn syrup laden rainbow drink things we sold to kids. Bad management, food coloring dyed my hands and feet, crap pay. They also would lie about incentives if we met quotas then lay people off. That being said, still wasn't as bad as a telemarketing job. Those are the worst.

Trump's "chosen one" status is cemented. His followers, some on this forum, seem perfectly happy burning the whole thing down and going to war with the planet. Every bad decision is met with the same hoots and hollars as when Trump would call Rosie O'donnell ugly. The cries of "screeching liberals" are indistinguishable from the reasoned protests of would be allies. Get on the Trump train or get run over seems to be the mantra. Nihilism masquerading as self-preservation.

This is why you need a demagogue. A narcissistic blowhard like Trump seems well-positioned to convince the American public that we would be "taking over" these other countries, rather than the U.S. states ceding their sovereign rights to a globalist entity. There's that saying, "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." Maybe we'll be able to add "wearing a truckers hat" to that.

So, what I considered my best friend from high school, Shawn Becker, passed on 1/13/25. On here, he was known as RonPaulIsGreat. He hadn't posted on here since 2021. He was big into Bitcoin and early enough to where he was an on-paper millionaire, and hadn't worked in years. Anyway, he developed heart problems and got pretty tired of all things online and even though we stayed connected off and on over the years, I hadn't chatted with him in about two years. He is the one directly responsible for turning me on to Ron Paul in 2007. So if my posts have annoyed you over the years, you can thank him. I am a Christian, the extra nutty kind. I was only sarcastically disparaging Ron Paul, to highlight that by the "Trump standard" Ron Paul is a loser who could never really do anything, so why bother hanging out with us losers. It was tongue in cheek. I am a Christian who believes that the only thing that really allows me to speak what I believe are the ideals underpinning the Constitution and Bill of Rights (and my own State Constitution). Without these things, it's doubtful it will take long for real Christianity to even be spoken. We already see that trend strengthening with Trump's attempt to enforce antisemitic hate crime laws against American's protesting on college campuses. So while I don't "identify" as libertarian, or conservative, I do see value in an alliance with those who truly believe in truth and liberty, which in my opinion are rooted in Christ. So when I see people who don't hold these values poopin' in my river, and I have the time and inclination, I resist their attempts adorn themselves with these labels while they reject the substance. That is all. Christians are themselves divided and separated. But this is prophesied. God will work it out in His own time. Our duty is to press forward even when it feels like we are completely alone.

Great subject. I interpret the fall somewhat differently. God gave Adam and Eve all the facts: eat from the tree and you will die. The sin was disobedience on one level, but on another, it was a lack of faith. The serpent lied to them, saying they wouldn't die. It's also relevant that God commanded the Tree of Life to be hidden, lest they eat from it and live. Here, two points emerge: first, if God did not enforce death, He would be contradicting His word, making Him a liar. Secondly, it would have been a minor act for God to show mercy and allow them to live by eating from the other tree. However, given the nature of the crime, it was clearly not in mankind's best interests to be forgiven at that time. But why all this pretense, right? God is all-powerful—just intervene! Kill the snake or at least warn them. The issue is interconnectedness. People say, "Well, you have free will." But you have free will because God has free will. Yet, if God is morally perfect, why not make us morally perfect too? (ignoring, for the moment, that this is literally the goal of creation for mankind) The way I see it, the very act of creation, from God's perspective, requires that He withdraw. If He did not withdraw, there would only be Him. Yet without God, everything would eventually perish. Withdrawn or not, He sustains it all. So, why create anything? The answer is love. Love requires an object. But why does God love evil beings, as we are?

So even though you are an anonymous poster who agrees with Trump, but cannot coherently explain or justify his actions other than "he has popular support", others who are anonymous posters who disagree with Trump must justify their disagreement with a "plan" or detailed justification for how they would fix "all the things"? Maybe you should just come to grips with the fact that you aren't interested in liberty or a government of the people, and you just want so bad to be on the winning team. That being said, clearly this is the wrong place for such people. We are clearly the losers in that game. Still hanging around an 18 yr old forum named after an almost dead man who was mocked and never had more than a minority following. Your tribalism is showing.

As for what he was saying you weren't being consistent on, it was the fact that at first you said the Bible doesn't say have a relationship with Jesus (actually it does) and then you shifted to "The Bible doesn't say the gospel is have a relationship with Jesus" (It doesn't....but nobody on this board said it does). Why it's who hard for you to just admit that I don't know. If you are looking for exact language says that...well where does it say grace is irresistible?

"Oh, the Bible is "bullshit"?" Nope. Are you implying that the only thing you have to contribute to threads are Bible quotes? Your non-Biblical observations (and there are many) coupled with your choice to use Bible quotes to derail threads (which I'm fairly sure was not the original intent of any of the authors OR the Divinity behind them) are what is bullshit. Get thee behind me, Satan, and get on my ignore.
