There's a handful of "agenda" related stocks in all indexes that are basically keeping the markets looking sound. Banks pumping funny money into them so they can continue their agenda operations without those mean old analysts shorting them into the dirt. Amazon (take over the retail world, gov't clouds), Tesla (funneling money to Musk's other companies), chip makers (autonomous cars, blockchain, various spy tech), Netflix (propaganda arm), Facebook and Google (spying/data collection/info suppression), etc. When you drill down into the numbers of most of these unicorns, in a normal market they'd be slaughtered for their cash burn rates and pathetic EPS for the ones that are profitable. Tesla is $300+/share and Netflix has risen thousands of percentage points when you factor in the stock split.....Tesla hasn't turned a profit and Netflix is burning cash like it's going out of style. Amazon's P/E ratio is ridiculous! It's rigged to make sure NSA inspired corps can continue their operations without that pesky market screwing things up.

The dollar and bond bubbles (though they are intrinsically linked) are the real bubbles bursting that take everything else with them.

They can indict a ham sandwich, as the old saying goes. Whether any of it is legally enforceable is another question entirely.

Ron doesn't get much msm access these days so it's concerning when CNBC gives him time to talk about the bursting of the bubbles. Short clip here. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/13/this-is-the-biggest-bubble-in-the-history-of-mankind-and-its-going-.html

There's the usual Gowdy dramatics (all sizzle, no steak, like IRS/Lois Lerner and so many others) as he continues his role as sheepdog but some of the other critters didn't seem to me to be acting at all, like they're really caught up in this mess. There are 535 members of Congress and most of them we never see except on very rare occasions or if a CSPAN nerd. I usually ascribe the "acting" roles to the ones that get all the press and hasn't thought much about the less media-covered critters.

I'm thinking more like overestimated their (meaning Congress as a whole) awareness. Seems some aren't acting, at least, and are genuinely surprised and angry (aka oblivious) that institutions like the FBI are *gasp* corrupted and much of the drama in politics right now is manufactured distraction.

I must admit I was surprised to see Congress get fired up about these testimonies, particularly at the Strozak thing. It made me wonder how many in Congress, even, realize the larger machinations underway? Perhaps I have given the swamp too much credit.

The irony is that there is no wealth. There are those on both sides that extract the labor of the slaves and transmute it into real assets. That is the wealth you refer to. Everything else is illusion of wealth. Chinese people are no less brainwashed than American counterparts. (eta: the true wealth is knowing that there is no wealth. ponder that shit for a moment. wealth is a fleeting projection of enhanced freedom during a very short lfespan.)

Are you sure you want to cancel half of your routes Danke? In these international threads you are probably our most qualified to comment on what is fact and what is fiction about other countries and their conditions.

Fwiw, Chinese and associated asian cultures are known to send messages like this without meaning any of it or having any intention to follow up on it. In negotiations they're very respectful and complimentary and all that but are always looking for an advantage, which may include buttering you up before they dick you over (if you let them). There are no emotions in negotiations.

The list of the $200 billion new tariffed products from China is eye popping, 205 pages. I think the dollar figure applied is just window dressing. It's pretty much all things like raw materials, chemical precursors, fabrics, furniture, car parts, seafood, etc. Noticeable dollar price increases on a lot of things are going to start kicking in next month.

I don't know if there's a point, but it would be interesting to know if he happened to get bailed out of his mountain of debt (a la Trump/Soros and Trump/Wilbur Ross), instead of him actually paying it off. It would indicate who, if anyone, he might owe favors to.

Yeah, personal relationships. You know, that lame "on the ground' stuff. Maybe I should let the 5 major media companies (and getting fewer by the day) form my perceptions and opinions instead. Perhaps then I shall be as enlightened as you. eta: Btw, if you admit that the media lies, why post so much of their drivel?

LOL@hating America. The last refuge of a failed argument. I work with Chinese suppliers through alibaba. Have you even spoken to an actual Chinese person in real life? Theoretically you could. It would be one hella valuable ring but it is possible. But regarding the amounts, China (and Russia) ban practically all gold exports and have been amassing tonnage off the books for years. 20,000 tons seems to be the general consensus by those that are very in tune with PM markets. They've surely bought a lot of gold with the trillions of dollars they've received from us over the years and they don't export practically any of the gold they've mined.

If you truly think that the amount of gold is what matters then you should definitely spend more time reading economic articles and less time posting Trump articles. Theoretically, any amount of gold can be used as a gold backing. It is the currency that is revalued to gold, not the amount of gold revalued to the currency.

Again, they have the GOLD. Along with the other countries the Chinese have been working with, like Russia and India. Any collapse in China would be very, very short lived and most of their people are already accustomed to working their asses off for little pay. Our collapse, however, would be epic by comparison. Forcing the man-bun crowd into factory jobs? The free-stuff crowd losing their free stuff? You don't really think all of this police security state being implemented is for giggles, do ya? Maybe spend less time posting Trump junk and spend more time reading economic articles.

Or they dump all of their Treasuries, continue devaluing the yuan (which is more damaging to the trade deficit than tariffs can fix and is causing the dollar to soar, thus making our exports even tougher), then declare the yuan/rmb gold backed and practically overnight turn the FRN dollar into just another 3rd world currency. Bye bye petrodollar reserve status. Sorry but China actually holds the cards now. I'd argue by intentional design by the global bankers but that won't matter much if the FRN dollar loses 50% of it's current purchasing power and suddenly everything is twice as expensive as it was last month. The whole shebang is about how to remove the petrodollar system. It is wise to view all events from that perspective. It's all very complicated. Besides, with Xi now "President for life" in China, there's no way he'll let any perception that Trump bested him creep into the narrative. Trump, otoh, seems very ripe for a flaying by the US media for "losing" to the Chinese, thus paving the way for the socialist Dem candidate in 2020.
