But "having the Swampublican get their vote in the 2nd or 3rd round" is exactly what eliminates the so-called "spoiler effect". And when you combine that with the fact that as a result (as you yourself acknowledge) "the Swampublicans will feel free to act more liberal ", then you have set yourself up for a double-whammy - the Republican party will become that much more insulated from reaction, and at the same time the "spoiler effect" will have been eliminated as a possible corrective ... For whatever they might (or might not) be worth, my thoughts on the subject of voting and any of various voting schemes are offered solely arguendo. Presently, the matter is moot. Regardless of what schemes for representation might be engineered, neither republics nor democracies (nor any mixture of the two) are even remotely viable or maintainable at the scale of a third of a billion people - or even at the scale of the more populous states. Democracy in particular scales especially poorly (I suspect that even a scale measured in the hundreds would be too large for democracy to avoid significant dysfunction).

None at all - because California also eliminates the spoiler effect. They just use a different method to do it (by allowing only two candidates in the general).

Today I picked up a 1946 to 2008 set of roosevelt dimes , a set of Mercury dimes missing three ( 1916 D , 1921 & 1921 D ) , I had an extra 1921 to stick in there . I picked up a complete set of Ike dollars with the silver issues and a complete set of Anthony dollars . three Unc anthony dollars and some Buffalo nickels . The only really nice Unc nickels in there were common dates , 1936 S and 1937 D . A lot of Peace dollars , one from ea yr from 1922 - 1935 and two extra . four common commem. halves , three of them silver , a crappy Barber silver Half , a 40 percent silver S Proof 1976 quarter , a 1964 proof quarter , a 1909 D Barber quarter in VG . That was a lot of fun . I might put up the Mercury dime set for sale . I put an Extra Fine 1878 7 Tailfeather silver Morgan dollar , an Uncirculated 1882 S silver Morgan dollar and a 1921 D silver Morgan dollar , all of which I already had into my dollar set .

LMAO ... as if Polquin gave a damn about anyone but Rs & Ds being "disenfranchised" before rank voting was used ... But if you lose the spoiler effect, what do you gain? Cui bono? Without the ability to produce the spoiler effect, the participation of third-party and non-party candidates (and the enablement of their supporters to express support) can be effectively nullified. It may well destroy or seriously degrade one of the only useful things there is about voting. I have argued elsewhere that voting is not an effective means of changing anything. Voting does not cause change - rather, it is the result of change (if any). At best, voting is like a windsock - but in that capacity, it can still be a somewhat useful thing. Voting won't change the direction of the wind, but it may at least tell you when and in what direction the wind is changing.

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/lyle-j-dennis-md/buckminsterfullerene_b_1449974.html Thanks for the chart Zippy. I am pretty sure that they did not give the rats only water, oil or oil+ c60. They used 60 rats in 3 different groups. Not only 6 rats in each group. I did a search to see if there is any documented proof of death as a result of using c60 in humans or animals. I found a case of death in a person and their dog who were both using it for 2 weeks and both individuals died. But it was not a doctor's report that said the 2 individuals died it was just someone who knew someone who was taking it. It does seem like if it was killing animals and people there would be a lot of information about it especially from the dog and cat owners. It is not approved by the FDA which it probably won't be until someone comes up with a patent able formula that causes side effects and death. Maybe someone will put aspartame in it and get it approved.:nauseated: A lot of the different sites that talk about dosages say to take more in the beginning to load up. I will be giving my dog small doses and if she seems to be doing okay on it I may continue using it on her.. If I were to ever try it for myself I think I would put it on my skin for a few months before I ever take it internally and I would probably mix a few drops in another oil before using it straight out of the bottle. I will also be doing it this way with my dog. I have a very fast metabolism so anything ingested will act much quicker on me than people who have a slower metabolism. I usually put something new that I want to try on my skin first. My skin reacts fast to things too and, often I can taste what ever it is on my skin although not as intensely as if I put it in my mouth. I put things I want to try on band aids with a few drops of some kind of oil I have handy.

Open the fucking door." -Officer Friendly Heads up, @Anti Federalist https://www.ksn.com/news/kansas/court-officers-can-use-smell-to-justify-search-of-homes/1652786479?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_KSN_TV&fbclid=IwAR1eEc-O4xQndcR2cd38efUumMENs8cffIXZYm-i2GiVyKqvnKnIomnkXbI TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - A divided Kansas Supreme Court has ruled that police can rely exclusively on their sense of smell to provide probable cause to do preliminary search of a home for drugs. The ruling came in a case where Lawrence police entered a man's apartment to search after saying they detected a strong smell of raw marijuana. Lawrence Hubbard appealed his conviction on misdemeanor drug charges, arguing that the Lawrence officers could not justify the search without a search warrant based only on their ability to smell. The state argued that probable the security sweep the officers conducted before getting a search warrant was appropriate to ensure no one inside Hubbard's apartment destroyed possible evidence in the case. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports the court ruled Friday on a 4-3 vote.
