Then I will continue saying exactly what I have been saying all along (in this thread and many others): Donald Trump is a wishy-washy, half-assed gun grabber who is just too chickenshit to take things any further, out of fear of alienating his base before the election. (And as I have also said before: after the election, if he wins, then all bets are off and there is no telling what the hell he will or won't end up doing ...) But even if "nothing has happened, and no laws have been passed," Trump will still have thoroughly chummed the water for the sharks with "lots of talk, lots of willing to negotiate" - such as he has already done with his "take the guns first, due process later" rhetoric, his voicing of support for "red flag" laws, his firearms-accessory regulation via executive-order fiat, and whatever the hell kind of mealy-mouthed, half-assed wiffle-waffle he ends up endorsing in this upcoming proposal. Not only do I acknowledge the possibility, but that possibility is the very reason I refer to Trump as a "half-assed" gun grabber in the first place.

I absolutely did listen to him and watched all the debates. I did like the way he rattled Hillary. In the beginning I really wanted to vote for Rand but he dropped out before the primary even got to my state. I was really disappointed. I told myself go ahead and vote for Johnson although I would be holding my nose to do it. I was surprised at myself for making the decision to vote Trump. To me it does not seem like Trump has hurt us all that bad. It appears to me that he has tremendous opposition. I hope he doesn't choke out the 2nd amendment. He does seem to have mellowed out some and occasionly he even seems humbled by the load he carries. Yes I realize he could screw us I know Hillary would have. I don't see any awesome candidate emerging this cycle. Do you?

Nope I was strictly voting against "her". I did not really like Trump I wasn't going to vote for him. I changed my mind in the voting booth. I was going to vote for Gary. I was holding my nose when I voted for him. I still did not think he would win.

Yea, because I can't stand Hillary. I figure nobody could be worse than her. I started worry about Hillary becoming President when Bill was in his 1st term. She has always given me the creeps. Say what you will about Trump but, at least he has worked a couple of days in his life. Hillary seems to have done nothing but scam the nation and the world. I am sure that the good people of Europe really appreciate her opening up their boarders to the Libyan and Syrian migrants. Nobody believed she would loose but a lot of people are glad she did. But this is about Julian Assange and how Hillary's emails revealed that she used the war in Libya to fund her presidential campaign. It is okay to take a thread in another direction but I would like to try to keep the topic going too.

There is no guessing or knee-jerking involved. Trump is a wishy-washy, half-assed gun grabber, and he has never been anything else. One needs to wait for the release of Trump's wishy-washy, half-assed gun-grabbing proposal no more than one would, under other circumstances, need to wait for the release of Hillary's waffle-free, full-assed gun-grabbing proposal. The question is not, "Will it be bad?" The question is "How bad will it be?" And that is a consequence of the fact that Trump has been nothing but a wretched liability to the gun-rights movement. (But by all means, keep up the willfully obtuse pretense that you don't already know all this and need to see his proposal first before you can figure it out ...)

How many gun deaths do Alzheimer's victims cause each year? "Legislating to the exception" is why we are drowning in a sea of laws and regulations without ebb. Every "obvious" reason that there "ought to be a law" (because something "bad" might happen) is pregnant with opportunities for never-ending extension and expansion (not to mention corruption and abuse). For just a few examples: - Who gets to decide "who is out of it mentally?" - Shouldn't we also prohibit the mentally-out-of-it from owning or using knives? Cars? Anything else that might be deemed dangerous? (And who is to do the deeming?) - Shouldn't we also prohibit those who live with the mentally-out-it from owning or using the same things? After all, if I own guns and my father, who lives with me is "mentally out of it" ... How about this - rather than trying to preemptively constrain what some people might do (a slippery slope that has no bottom), just hold people responsible for the things they have actually done (or failed to do, in the case of negligence - such as allowing my father with Alzheimer's to get hold of one of my guns and use it to hurt or kill someone). Tragedies happen. They always have, and they always will. Trying to obviate them preemptively is a never-ending utopian treadmill that will do nothing but create an ever-growing and increasingly untenable mountain of laws and rules, to the benefit of no one but lawyers and rulers ...

Thanks. He was not in power at the time so it does make it kinda a moot point. Is it possible that he would have handled it differently if he had been in office? Do you think he would have taken out 40,000 Libyan citizens? We will never know how it would have went down if he had been holding the reins of power. If he had been in office he might not have interfered at all but we don't really know what he would have done. Do we?

What they should do is let everyone vote once every day. Then, at the end of each EY (Electoral Year - sort of like FY for "Fiscal Year"), they add up all the votes and the winner gets to be President for the next EY. (They could even release quarterly reports for running vote totals.) That way, when someone says something like, "electronic cigarettes are not useful for hunting - as such, they are not protected under the 2nd Amendment and should therefore be banned," then we can vote for that person on that day. But then, if the next day the same person says something like, "We should not invade and conquer Canada just because they don't know how to make bacon right," then we can vote against that person on that day. What's really great about this system is that we won't get hung up wondering what to do when we agree with Candidate X on Issue A but not on Issue B, and we agree with Candidate Y on Issue B but not on Issue A. Just vote really hard for X (and against Y) because of A on Monday, and then vote really hard for Y (and against X) because of B on Tuesday. Rinse and repeat, every day throughout the year. Problem solved!

More evidence of the weasel acting like a seasoned politician in dodging a straight forward question. If you don't have time to watch the 1st 2mins of the video, he comes out finally admitting to his naive supporters that he was for regime change in Libya.

I looked for a video of him saying that he was for invading Libya. He was asked by Howard Stern in 2002 if he was for the war in Iraq and he said "yea I guess so" later when saw the results he came out against it. They do having him saying that he made money with Qaddafi and "Buzz Feed" says he was for the Libyan take over. Am I supposed to believe "Buzz Feed"? I can't find anything that I would call proof that he said he would invade Libya if you can find it please add a link okay? Assange didn't mention Hillary emailing or receiving emails from Trump for consultation on invading Libya. I can't find anything on Trump having any interest or actual stake in the Libya invasion can you? Below are some videos of Hilly testifying about her involvement in Libya and her link with Blumenthal

Yea if it becomes illegal to own or sell a gun the black market will happily stock their shelves with more guns. That is something that the gun grabbers don't seem to want to consider at all at least publicly. It is my opinion that people who want to make guns illegal and keep medicinal pain relief plants illegal are top people in the cartels.

I oppose all gun laws . Criminals do not obey the law so restrictions only apply and hinder the law abiding . Therefore they are senseless . I oppose all gun laws . There should never be another . If there are it will have zero effect on future criminal behaviour . People who support gun laws are dangerous open communists who are enemies of the state and wish to deprive people of safety .
