Well the poll is at 69 percent Boycott and 8 percent Nobody should have to work , Hillary voter . Looks like the science is settled , the insignificant 23 percent holding things up .

This^^ The only things that can be meaningfully automated are unskilled labor. The demand for *skilled* labor is infinite and always will be-including repairing the machines that do automated tasks.

Indeed! Now that you mention it-the way modern science strongly tends to divorce the scientific method from philosophy and religion would be baffling to Aristotle and other physicists and scientists of the classical world.

Interesting thread. I can see why modern physicists would take offense to this-but they unfortunately have a strong tendency to use prescriptivism, whereas the classical physicists rightly endeavored to be descriptive of the universe and thus came to proper theories and laws of physics.

Its conditioning. It teaches people to expect no human contact when buying anything. Which only pushes people online, where robots do most of the work, and hides the ugly truth of how unstable those jobs that are hidden from the public treat their employees. For example, Amazons AI that fires employees for "working too slow" despite not having a human perfect system. They are absolute crap jobs, but, they are jobs. They want people dependent on the State in order to promote the religion of Statism. "Govt will save us all." In a world where robots have stolen everyones jobs because they do them better, humans lose their dignity, value, and sense of worth to their society. They end up only able to define themselves by the garbage they buy and how poorly they treat each other. Yet another Dystopian Nightmare being brought to us and delivered by drones.

Its become pretty obvious that the elected "leaders" no longer reflect the will of the people. Or maybe they do. They all seem highly willing to trade everyone elses Rights and Liberty in exchange for Temporary Security. So what happens when the exact opposite happens? When people arent arrested just by what they say, but by what they DONT say? What happens if people are being arrested for not hating Trump enough? All these facial recognition cameras are gonna enable just that world, and everything else we cant yet even imagine. Mark my words, this will end badly beyond anyones wildest nightmares.

Boycotting is currently leading the poll by 80 percent . Interesting since it is a younger crowd here I was expecting no more than 50 percent like a presidential election or abortion .

We had three here left in town until recently ( guy who owned them passed away and they were sold ) they were busy all the time . They would check oil , sell oil , gas , cigarettes and lighters that was it, free air and water. Raking in the cash . Now there are none so the husbands probably have to fill up the mini vans for the wives .

Extended forecast is showing 20 to 40 percent chance of rain every day from Wed through July 7 with 80 percent tonight . 90 percent tomorrow . I am mowing on Tue regardless. Looks like we will be at 40 days of consecutive rain by Jul 7 or something . Maybe this is how it was in the Jurassic .

I dont use them because they suck . I pay cash and just trying to get the money in is not worth the aggravation . On the bright side , if that is all there is one day I will buy much less . I will just send the Mrs and give her less . As an example , Mrs O gets her gasoline at Sams club . I will not use it at all , ever because they do not take cash . They suck . Probably the only automated machine I have ever used that worked good other than a money mover is at the airport for tickets , but I hate airports and they suck .

About a week ago at an auction I got an old Speedmaster ( American made) Half in drive 12 point socket set that ran 3/8 to 1 1/4 just missing the 7/8 and it had the complete set for squares too with a couple extensions , the universal and the tray for 15.00 ( no ratchet ). I dont need it so one of my Grand sons will get it , I had a bunch of extra Armstrong 6 point 7/8 impact sockets laying around I had previously bought in a lot at 1.00 ea so I put one of those and a couple of Craftsman & Snap On spark plug sockets in it . Those old Speedmaster sockets are great . I have used some of them before around the farm when I was younger on an impact and never split one .
