A week later, and the mealy-mouthed assholes are still at it. If it wasn't for the fact that the corporate media are so lacking in self-awareness, one would be forced to conclude that they are doing it on purpose.

Speaking of which (h/t Peter Boghossian): Universities Try to Force a Consensus About Kyle Rittenhouse Conor Friedersdorf (26 November 2021) At universities, the recent acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse should be an opportunity to study a divisive case that sparked complex debates about issues as varied as self-defense laws, guns, race, riots, the rights of defendants, prosecutorial missteps, media bias, and more. If administrators were doing their jobs, faculty and students would freely air a wide variety of viewpoints and have opportunities to better understand one another’s diverse perspectives. Instead, many administrators are preemptively imposing their preferred narratives. The Rittenhouse saga began in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on August 25, amid rioting that followed the police shooting of a Black man. Rittenhouse, then 17, armed himself with an AR-15-style rifle and walked into the chaos, claiming that he intended to protect the community. He wound up shooting three men, killing two. Last week, a Wisconsin jury found him not guilty of murder, crediting his claim that, at the moment he fired, he feared for his life and acted in self-defense. This, many analysts argued, was a plausible conclusion to draw from Wisconsin law and video footage and testimony presented at trial.

Regardless of what one thinks about what happened on "1/6" (or what should be done about it), the mind can only boggle at the bizarre irrationality of invoking such a grotesquely irrelevant non sequitur. This makes Pee-wee Herman's "I know you are, but what am I?" look like the epitome of well-reasoned rebuttals. And yet, there are a lot of people who will actually regard and accept this as an adequate and even telling rejoinder.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to cjm again. (Also moving to the Open Discussion forum, as this subject has a much wider range of relevance than just the COVID angle.) I haven't watched to OP videos, but the write-up accompanying the second one is quite interesting. Just some random thoughts/observations:

Yeah, no. Just no. People should continue to pay attention to (and post about) the Rittenhouse affair for just as long as it continues to engage or interest them (however long that might be), and not for one moment less. I don't agree. People are able to walk and chew gum at the same time, and they are able to pay attention to more than one story at once, as well. At any given moment, there is more than just one important/significant thing going on in the world.

The @libsoftiktok account has posted the same sort of thing from a lot of other companies, too (such as Best Buy and Kaiser Permanente.) It's another symptom of the "woke" takeover of corporate HR departments - and they don't even need the endorsements of the CEOs or board members, either (most of those people wouldn't have the spine to stand up to them anyway, even if they did have objections). And the same Twitter account covered a lot of colleges/universities cranking out the same kind of guff (turned up to eleven) in the wake of the Rittenhouse veridct:

All of the following is under an "if I understand correctly" qualifier: I think it depends on the scope of the particular pardon. If Benton was pardoned specifically and only for offenses that he had already been charged with or convicted of, then new charges on other offenses would still be permitted by the pardon. But if Benton got a partial "blanket" pardon for some of the things he might have done prior to the issuance of the pardon, then new charges might not be permitted. Or if Benton got a full "blanket" pardon for anything he might have done prior to the issuance of the pardon, then new charges would not be permitted. So on the basis of this new indictment against Benton, I'm guessing that his earlier pardon must not have been a "blanket" pardon (or if it was, it must have been a partial "blanket" and not a full one). Recall that when Nixon was pardoned by Ford, Nixon hadn't even been charged with - let alone convicted of - anything at all. So it is clearly possible to pardon someone for something for which they merely might be charged or convicted, rather than just something for which they already have been charged or convicted. If Assange or Snowden were to be granted full "blanket" pardons, then I don't see what the Feds/DoJ could do about it, other than ignoring the rules or cheating (which, of course, can't be ruled out). Also important to note is that presidential pardons only cover federal matters. States are not bound by them, and presidents cannot pardon (preemptively or otherwise) for state-level offenses.

Just to be clear I am not calling it the universal antidote doctors named it that. Yea it destroys virus, bacteria, parasites and fungus. Many people have also used after they decided not to have chemo for cancer too and have happily ived to tell about it.. I use it on my skin the first spray I used cause a little bit of a sting (not as much as alcohol on an open wound) on the wart in between my fingers but my skin was not destroyed. I did add a little more water to the spray for the skin tags with no discomfort at all. There are precautions to using it if a person buys it and does not understand how to use it because they have not learned how to use it that is on them. What about the drugs big pharma sells that have death and worse disease as a know side effect even when taken as directed but how many people have died because they did not bother to read the disclaimer?

well we know our own FDA does not approve of Chlorine Dioxide for treatment of any disease. People all over the world are using it for many different diseases with great success. I am using it topically to remove a few skin tags and a wart in between my fingers it went away after a few days most of my skin tags have also disappeared. I also use it on my dog on a growth on his elbow that the vet said was related to warts and that did not need to be removed. At any rate it is almost gone one was beginning to develop on his other elbow and it was smaller and has completely gone. I haven't had any flu like symptoms but if I do there is a good chance I will use it internally to kill the virus. I also use it to clean store bought fresh veggies and fruits and my cutting board. It is not an illegal substance even though a doctor will lose their license if they prescribe it and are found out.It is super easy to make using Sodium Chlorite and citric acid. I am not telling anyone to use it I am only showing how it is used and how it was discovered. You can buy it in tablet form even at Walmart being sold as water purification. It has been around for a long time being used in city/county water supplies.

At the amounts necessary in order for the delivery of oxygen to make a difference you would be dead. There's a reason you could call it the universal antidote, it's a strong oxidiser, it destroys things.

The Cynical and Dangerous Weaponization of the "White Supremacist" Label In dominant elite discourse, no evidence is needed to brand someone a "white supremacist." The belief that it will produce political or personal gain suffices. Glenn Greenwald (27 November 2021) Within hours of the August 25, 2020, shootings in Kenosha, Wisconsin — not days, but hours — it was decreed as unquestioned fact in mainstream political and media circles that the shooter, Kyle Rittenhouse, was a "white supremacist.” Over the next fifteen months, up to and including his acquittal by a jury of his peers on all charges, this label was applied to him more times than one can count by corporate media outlets as though it were proven fact. Indeed, that Rittenhouse was a "white supremacist” was deemed so unquestionably true that questioning it was cast as evidence of one's own racist inclinations (defending a white supremacist). Yet all along, there was never any substantial evidence, let alone convincing proof, that it was true. This fact is, or at least should be, an extraordinary, even scandalous, event: a 17-year-old was widely vilified as being a white supremacist by a union of national media and major politicians despite there being no evidence to support the accusation. Yet it took his acquittal by a jury who heard all the evidence and testimony for parts of the corporate press to finally summon the courage to point out that what had been Gospel about Rittenhouse for the last fifteen months was, in fact, utterly baseless. A Washington Post news article was published late last week that was designed to chide "both sides” for exploiting the Rittenhouse case for their own purposes while failing to adhere carefully to actual facts. Ever since the shootings in Kenosha, they lamented, "Kyle Rittenhouse has been a human canvas onto which the nation’s political divisions were mapped.” In attempting to set the record straight, the Post article contained this amazing admission:
