Well, no. First, Japan is not a continent. It's a string of islands, or an archipelago, if you prefer.
They did, however, recently and disappointingly, accept approximately 840,000 non-nationals into the country, to make up for the fact that the country is desperately and woefully lacking in able bodied persons to perform the works of the day, which has much to do with a non-replacement birth rate and a social welfare system that demands that older non-working generations to be cared for by younger working generations.
It's a similar situation that we here in the West face, however it will likely play out in much more stark terms in Japan in that their society is so much more homogeneous and ordered compared to us here in the West. Would that we should survive so long as to observe it, of course.
