Aufheben der Dr. Seuss https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPYieRhLATw The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Episode 23 Aufheben is a German word that, in Critical Theory, means to "abolish" or to "negate" in the way that Critical Theorists do. It's a somewhat complicated term in that it means both to abolish and to keep or to keep safe, and the Critical Theory taps into the so-called dialectical process to attempt to use aufheben to tear apart and, as the Marxists translated it, "sublate" whatever cultural artifact they are targeting onto a "higher" level of understanding, namely the one that empowers Critical Theorists and induces misery in everyone else. This process was widely pushed by the Critical Theorists of the Frankfurt School under a doctrine of Aufheben der Kultur ("abolishment of culture"), and it continues in the Woke movement today. One of the latest big targets of Aufheben der Kultur is Dr. Seuss and his wide body of popular children's literature. Why? Because of its success. Seuss becomes a cultural anchor point for hundreds of millions of children and adults, and by tainting Seuss, his legacy, and your own memories of him with accusations of racism and "harm," they can abolish that shared cultural anchor and make more room to advance their own agenda, in which every text is "decolonized" and geared to indoctrinate you and your children into Critical Theory, especially Critical Race Theory. Join James Lindsay in this episode of the New Discourses Podcast to dig into the Critical Dr Seuss academic literature to see where this Aufheben der Dr Seuss comes from and how it works.

I was posting videos of Viva Frei's analysis of the Parler v. Amazon case in this thread, but it makes more sense to put them in the "Amazon removes hosting for Parler" thread. I've posted the most recent update (as of 03 March 2021) to that thread (here: Parler vs. Amazon "Voluntary Dismissal"? Lawyer Explains - Viva Frei Vlawg), and I will start posting any future updates there as well.

I was posting Viva Frei's updates on the Parler v. Amazon case in the "Google Pulls Parler" thread, but it makes more sense to put them here. Here's the most recent news (as of 03 March 2021): Parler vs. Amazon "Voluntary Dismissal"? Lawyer Explains - Viva Frei Vlawg Parler filed a voluntary dismissal of its lawsuit against Amazon. But then refiled in State court. Here's the breakdown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3o8snr4b_Gc And here are links to my posts of VF's previous analysis videos on the case:

Also, the cadre of activists is much larger today than it was then. At the time, Critical Theory was securing its position in the universities, and hadn't yet captured K-12 education, corporate HR & marketing departments, and government entities & NGOs (as it has now).

As I recall, the LGBWHATEVER activist crowd got pissed off at The Silence of the Lambs way back when it first came out, too (especially when it was nominated for and won so many Oscars). They denounced Jonathan Demme (the director), called for boycotts, etc. No way would the movie ever get made today - not without significant changes. Which goes to show that all this sort of thing is not just coming out of nowhere - it's been brewing for literally decades now. It's just now coming to a continuous, rolling boil.

That is exactly the problem. The minds of kids (and everyone else) must be broken and reshaped so that they always look at everything through the lens of race, gender, or whatever other "intersectional" categories happen to be to the advantage of the Woke in terms of giving them more power and control. Caryn Ann Harlos - Part Of The Problem #703 On this episode of Part Of The Problem Dave Smith is joined by the current secretary of executive body of the Libertarian Party to discuss the future of the party, the missteps in messaging, and the impact of the caucuses in the party. Before entering politics, Harlos was a paralegal for twenty years, working in document management. Harlos joined the Libertarian Party and the state affiliate in Colorado in 2014. She later served as the Communications Director for the affiliate, Region 1 Representative for the LNC, Historical Preservation Committee Chair, and on the National Platform Committee for the 2018 Libertarian National Convention. She became involved in the Radical Caucus in 2016. On 3 July 2018, at the 2018 convention, Harlos was elected as the 17th LNC Secretary with 372 votes, 56.6 percent of the delegates. The incumbent secretary, Alicia Mattson, received 36 percent of the vote. A month after her election as Secretary, she denounced what she saw as socialists entering the party, asserting that Libertarianism is distinctly separate from both the left and the right of the political spectrum. This occurred about a year after the party had denounced a similar issue with people on the alt-right becoming interested in Libertarianism. Harlos also advocates for an anti-abortion stance within the Libertarian party.

The boy who cried "Wolf!" was a lying (or, more charitably, self-deceiving) and attention-seeking "doomer" whose claims of an impending wolf attack were tediously repetitive. Nevertheless, he and the sheep were eventually eaten by the wolf. It might be hyperbolic and overwrought "nonsense," but it is not very laughable - not in light of what powerful & influential proponents of lockdowns and the so-called "Great Reset" themselves are openly promoting. And speaking of "erotic fan fiction," they're not just writing it, they're even producing videos of it ... It does. And it's almost always cringeworthy, especially when it features depictions of the "enemy." (And a domestic "enemy among us" is much better at fanning the flames of fear and hysteria than baby-bayonetters on the other side of the world.) It would not. Krauts are white Europeans, after all, so they have a very low IQ (Intersectionality Quotient). That makes them fair game.

Dr. Seuss did produce some pretty cringe stuff ... I don't recall any of that crap making it into any of his books, though (at least, not the ones I ever read). But you find what you look for. In any case, I'm pretty damn sure the appropriate response to Dr. Seuss (whatever one may think of his stuff) is not to "become more ... racially conscious."

It was inevitable, because everything is racist. There is nothing that is not "problematic." (As Ibram Kendi puts it, the question is not "Did racism manifest in this situation," but rather, "How did racism manifest in this situation?") Repealing the helmet law is not properly "woke" because it does not engender "equity." The properly "woke" way to achieve "equity" here is not to repeal the law but to amend it so that it is applicable only to white people who do not have a sufficiently high IQ (Intersectionality Quotient)

I'm disappointed WRT your comment in my rep. I didn't know that about Rand. Disappointing. One more reason for me not to be thrilled, I guess. What would Rand's proposal accomplish? I mean, if security procedures were left up to the individual airport that might be a significant improvement (although I think even better would be to leave it to the airlines) but as long as DHS is running it, how is that helping anything?

I wish I could ask Rand Paul that question. I do really want to know what he's thinking.
