What's the point of wisdom if you can't share it? The point of this thread is to distill the collective wisdom of rpf into something measurable.

Many political candidates sound unusually libertarianish on the campaign trail. Tax breaks for middle class families and not sending your kids to war do make good sound bites. But how do we sort the sheep from the goats? If you didn't fall for Clinton, Bush, Obama or Trump, tell us how you knew they weren't going to bring the troops home, shrink the bureaucracy etc. So we can replicate your wisdom in the future. If you did fall for Clinton, Bush, Obama, or Trump, tell us what tricked you, and how we can all avoid that mistake in the future.

Except for all the wns on this forum. Except for 2016 TAPPER: I want to ask you about the Anti-Defamation League, which this week called on you to publicly condemn unequivocally the racism of former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke, who recently said that voting against you at this point would be treason to your heritage. Will you unequivocally condemn David Duke and say that you don’t want his vote or that of other white supremacists in this election? TRUMP: Well, just so you understand, I don’t know anything about David Duke, okay? I don’t know anything about what you’re even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. So I don’t know. I mean, I don’t know. Did he endorse me? Or what’s going on? Because, you know, I know nothing about David Duke. I know nothing about white supremacists. So you’re asking me a question that I’m supposed to be talking about people that I know nothing about. TAPPER: I guess the question from the Anti-Defamation League is even if you don’t know about their endorsement, there are these groups and individuals endorsing you. Would you just say unequivocally you condemn them and you don’t want their support? TRUMP: Well, I have to look at the group. I mean, I don't know what group you’re talking about. You wouldn’t want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I’d have to look. If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them and certainly I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong. You may have groups in there that are totally fine — and it would be very unfair. So give me a list of the groups and I’ll let you know. TAPPER: Okay. I’m just talking about David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan here, but—

by Zaid Jilani September 12 2017 IN A STUNNING MOVE, the House of Representatives on Tuesday approved an amendment to the Make America Secure and Prosperous Appropriations Act that will roll back Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s expansion of asset forfeiture. Amendment number 126 was sponsored by a bipartisan group of nine members, led by Michigan Republican Rep. Justin Amash. He was joined by Democratic Reps. Ro Khanna of California; Washington state’s Pramila Jayapal, a rising progressive star; and Hawaii’s Tulsi Gabbard. ... The amendment would roll back Sessions’ elimination of the Obama-era reforms.

In before the trumpleaders say he really meant the Constitution, or it doesn't count because he isn't even in the administration.

Bump. With no Republican, a lot of conservative and alt-right voters might actually listen to this guy's message.

So would end the fed, end the wars etc., but unlike Sanders, acptulsa actually wants to prevent power from being concentrated, in that, you are more like Sanders and other leftists than acptulsa could ever be. That doesn't make it right. This is necessarily true, except that it assumes there must be a ruling class. Many of us here believe that all men are created equal. I'm pretty sure I agree with this. Then why did you bring up a Bernie Sanders rally?

This is a misunderstanding; rights can never be in conflict. In situation #2, no rights are being lost. Our modern language abuses the word "right." A right (as used by Blackstone, Lock, the DoI, Constitution etc.) is not "that which is allowed," but is instead simply right (i.e. righteous or just); it is the opposite of a wrong. By definition, any supposed right to do a wrong is a non-thing just as the happiness of sad is a non-thing. The right to freedom of speech exists because deciding what to say is not wrong, and it cannot be abridged because it is wrong to dictate someone's speech. If it is wrong to be on someone else's property against their will, then no right to be there in the first place can exist. You still retain the right to decide what you say, but you might have to say it elsewhere.

Constitution applies to U.S. government, not YouTube payment models. If I asked you not to teach my kids communism in my own house, I wouldn't be violating your rights. Why is this hard for so many here to grasp? Do you guys support net neutrality too? I can understand it from the Drumf Column, but conservatives and libertarians should know better.

Hi, you should tweet Rands campaign about the conservative civil war taking place on FreeRepublic and Breitbart concerning Cruzs and Walkers TPA and TPP support. A lot to exploit there.

Sorry about that. I didn't know quite where to put that article. I thought open discussion was a good area to discuss the push for a cashless society.
