Best advice I've seen all day.
I'm a big boy and responsible for my own life and outcomes. This, of course, includes what I decide to do about health issues, or what I decide to put into my body or not. I'm perfectly capable of taking something posted on a message board and researching it myself, evaluating what value it may or may not have for me, and taking appropriate action from there. I assume everyone else here is similarly capable. We don't need a surrogate parent telling us what to do or how horrible someone else is for posting alternative or functional health care information.
Not to mention the fact that the power to take them away from "some Muslims and Latinos," IS the power to take them away from EVERYONE. All that may be lacking is the desire to do so. If a Trump administration lacks said desire (and nobody has actually demonstrated to any reasonable level of certainty that this s the case), then some subsequent administration most likely won't.
Why do people keep falling for the same bullshit arguments year after year? People around here especially should know better.
From the essay:
"I would abolish all police departments, and actively prohibit them reforming, turning every responsibility over to the Sheriff. Too many layers separate me from the cops: his superiors, the city council, the mayor and city manager. Not all are subject to recall. One electable man—the Sheriff—stands between me and his deputies."
ETA: I think you and Smith are largely in agreement.
It's likely that some here will be unable, or unwiling to look past Smith's comments on abortion to see the larger point, but others may not be so encumbered. Regardless, Smith's overall point is right on the mark IMO.
Yeah, well, if gun owners actually possessed the courage of the convictions they claim to hold, or any stones at all really, victim disarmament (gun conrol) would decades ago have been burried so deep it would take several mellenia for it to resurface.
I was thinking the same thing.
An "illegal" gun is any gun TPTB want to take away from you so they can do things to you that they couldn't, or at least couldn't as easily, if you kept it in your possession.
"Illegal" guns! SMDH
"All initiation of force is a violation of someone else's rights, whether initiated by an individual or the state, for the benefit of an individual or group of individuals, even if it's supposed to be for the benefit of another individual or group of individuals."
