Thanks yet again.
Well, here's the latest update.
We talked to the Radiation Oncologist today and got a treatment plan set up for her. They need to do both an MRI and a CAT scan and then "fuse the 2 to get a very accurate map of her brain and the important structures therein. Then they plan out exact paths for the radiation treatment, avoiding all the important organs, nerves, etc. Then they make a "mask" that they use to hold her head in place for the treatments and they can do all the radiation treatments in one vist. The remainder of the largest tumor and the cavity may actually take uo to 3 treatments, depending on what they see in the scans.
So, in 3-4 weeks, she should be through with this round. That's the good news.
The bad is that my daughter asked him, since this is from her lung cancer a few years ago, how likely it was that she'd have if crop up somewhere else within the next 5 years or so. He said that, since it had already done so, it was likely. However, he also sad that since it took so long to crop up anywhere else, it was LESS likely than it otherwise would be, so we're clinging to that.
