Iran and Russia are closely tied and Trump wants to avert war and strengthen ties with Putin. Iran is secondary. If Trump and Putin reconnect the 2 Nations Putin can manage Iran if Iran gets a nuke. 4D chess? 6D Chess? If you get Russia on-board Iran falls in line. It won't matter if Bolton is barking about regime change in Iran if Trump is moving and shaking with Iran's biggest handler.

Yes, I understand that he is a neo-con. I mentioned I have serious contentions with him on key issues. In the context of that article he's talking about destroying a small but key element of Iran's nuclear program - not wiping Iran out. I disagree with his idea. You failed to mention the overall context of his article. Nuclear proliferation is not something that can be taken lightly. Obama's admin. has been bending over to Iran and acting like a little bitch. I very much agree with Bolton's assessment in that regard (stated oustide of that article...recently on Fox's OUTNUMBERED and many times prior). Bolton is too "finger on the trigger" for my liking. But a lot of his ANALYSIS is valid. He CAN serve as a valid critic of other countries and be vocal if he feels Trump is being too soft on a negotiation. If there's one guy on this planet who won't simply bomb when Bolton yells FIRE, it's Trump. The sky isn't falling. Take a deep breath.

Wow. If you listen carefully to what Snowden says in the first 2 mins of that interview...wow...brave guy and I hope he gets pardoned and brought back in a civil and welcoming manner. "I've been fortunate to get the support I've had. When I came forward I thought I was going to be totally alone." That's bravery.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I said that Reagan was Trump-light. I did not give a value judgement. As for the cabinet, yes I agree Trump's is better then Reagan's (so far). I can give you ONE reason why and it alone outweighs all other mistakes combined (IMHO). Reagan made the ultimate mistake. He had George H.W. Bush as his VP. I firmly believe that Bush and his ilk were behind Reagan's assassination attempt. Reagan's mistake was allowing his #2 and 1st successor to be TPTB lead man and ex CIA head. One bullet to the head = NWO President steps in. Reagan mistakenly allowed the head Fox into his hen-house.

^^^^ I'm not worried about Bolton there as the 2nd. Trump won't be bullied by Bolton. Bolton won't be calling the shots. I've heard what Bolton has to say about Iran. He doesn't want to cater to them. I don't think he's ever advocated for smashing Iran to the ground. I heard his thought on Obama's Iran deal and I mostly agreed with him. Bolton will be there to lend advice about Iran mostly. I don't like Bolton on some important stuff, but his VOICE doesn't scare me when someone like Trump is his superior.

It's not going to happen with Trump. Also, this is a CLEAR sign to the world that the US is moving away from OPEC - who's most notable member is Saudi Arabia. Good riddance. The Saudi's fund and create roughly 95% of the worlds terrorism, including ISIS/ISIL. The Saudi's are the single greatest enemy of the middle east and especially Shia countries. Look at a map, Iraq and Syria are to the direct North of the Saudi Arabian peninsula. ISIS/ISIL is a direct land/power grab by the Saudi's to expand their territory. Largely funded by US foreign aid.

This is great. I really did not want Romney or Bolton...Tilerson is yet another example of Trump's desire to stop this retardation of poking Russia until war breaks out. As long as Trump is inaugurated and his government set into motion, WW3 will be averted. Like him or hate him, Trump seems to be good on the single most important issue of our day. STOPPING WW3. It doesn't fucking matter if the Fed is ended or not if there's no world for tomorrow.

Cautiously optimistic: I voted less. If he's sincere in what he has said, the tax code will get simplified. It's certainly what I'm hoping for.

I'm not American. I'm not getting played either way. Curious how you left out the part of my post that stated "We are still in wait and see mode to see how it all plays out". All I've done is pointed out what Trump has stated he wants to do (across the board massive tax reductions for everyone and less regulation so small and meduium businesses can start up and compete with the multi national behemoths currently privileged through law). Again: wait and see.

Softbank also has 1.8$ Trillion (USD) in AUM. The 100B debt figure means nothing without context. Softbank has 18x their debt in assets under management. I'm not saying they are in a good (or bad) fiscal position. But they don't have 100B in debt without assets on the other side.

Look, he has not gotten into office yet. He has pledged to remove barriers, regulations and taxes for everyone in America. EVERYONE. We are still in wait and see mode to see how it all plays out, but Trump is uniformly hated by the MSM (except Fox). There's a reason for that. He has pledged to end the current state of affairs and level the playing field.

Kazakhstan is essentially a Russian proxy State. Trump has stated he wants a reversal in aggressive policy toward Russia and believes the two ought to stay out of each others way and help each other when it's mutually beneficial (defeating ISIS comes to mind). If Clinton had won, Kazakhstan would be in trouble, but so would the US because aggression against Kazakhstan would be met with DIRECT Russian involvement (militarily). Clinton and the current ilk have absolutely been pushing the world closer to WW3. Pentagon/RAND Corp. war games have shown that in a Russian-American conflict fought precisely in Kazakhstan an surrounding area yields a 100% loss rate for the USA. The logistics of supporting such a fight near Russia makes it impossible for America to win. This is a non-nuclear fight and in this scenario the logistical advantage Russia holds in this area of the world means they win 100% of any battle of attrition. If the Russians tried such an invasion onto US soil the logistical advantage swings widely in America's favor. As unthinking and dangerous as Bush Jrs. foreign policy was, it pales in comparison to the outrageous hubris and stupidity of Obama's admin. By placing nuclear ballistic missiles near the Russian border in striking distance of Moscow, Obama has reversed the roles of the 1962 Cuban missile crisis and displayed the very same behaviors that once made the Russians international pariahs.

I really like the Mad Dog pick. I think by the time Trump's presidency is over, a lot of people around here will be much happier with the foreign policy direction of the USA. This is an excellent interview of Mattis. I find his philosophy and pragmatic approach to be admirable. Key points of his: -he is submissive to the American public -he believes it is his duty as a General (and now Sec. of Def.) to push the politicians making decisions to have CLEAR "End-state" goals for missions and wars. He cites not having clear "win" objectives is why the US has wasted so much time, money and life in 4 failed wars in particular: Vietnam, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan. -He believes it is his duty to implore President Trump NOT to go to war under any circumstance unless there is a clear objective in mind to signal it is time to leave. - fiscal strength is critical

How does it function? Very cheap oil/gas as the result of the USD reserve status with the oil trade as it's largest backing (Saudi petro-dollar deal). A lot of Americans don't seem to understand just how cheap their oil/gas is compared to just about everyone else in the world and how it has made wealth creation incredibly easy. At the moment, it's powering and financing the war/welfare state in America.

With how tightly divided the Senate is, Rand is much more valuable there. I'm guessing that on more than 1 occasion his vote will be the one that gets the good passed through and will be an ardent challenger of the stuff that is not good.
