That difference is exactly what Chief Nerd's tweet was illustrating. What Twitter calls "Views" is the number of times a tweet has been seen by users (for example, by appearing on their screens while they are scrolling their Twitter feeds). That is what Chief Nerd refers to as "impressions" (106 million, in this case). He distinguishes these "impressions" (or "Views" as Twitter labels them) from actual "video views" (i.e., the number of times a video was actually played - 23.5 million, in this case). Apparently, it was a quite a bit more than "just a fraction" - 22% (i.e., more than one in five). Of course, a lot of that is probably due to the curiosity of looky-loos who wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and those numbers will almost certainly drop off over time. But still ... damn! He could lose 75% of that and would still beat the pants off everyone else by huge margin.

I'm half Italian. There's a pretty good chance that at some point back in my genealogical history, one of my ancestors paired with an African. There's also a good chance that ancestor had decedents who went on to experience slavery in North America. So, there is a non-zero chance that I am a decedent of slaves. So, I'm curious - what am I owed? Also, I'm quarter-Irish. the Irish in this country were subject to slavery, though not necessarily chattel slavery. They were also subject to involuntary servitude, and certainly subjected to barbaric racism and discrimination for decades. As were Italians. I think, if we're going to pay out reparations to black people because of the history of their ancestors, then I should also get reparations based on the history of my ancestors. Let's do this. Let's f**king do it... what better way to hasten the utter destruction of the West than to pay people alive today for the suffering of their ancestors? Everyone should get a check! Print more money, and get it over with...
