This chain of thinking is the first thing that came to mind when I heard about this. This will not only take the government off the hook for the consequences of its policies in the eyes of many, but it will also give the government an excuse to exercise even greater power and control over things. "OMG! We have to save people from the awful insurance companies who are exploiting the situation to jack up their rates and make profits! The government needs to do something about this!" (And never you mind that the whole problem was caused by government in the first place ...)

Yes, he referenced a claim made by Robert Barnes (with whom he does a regular live stream about current legal topics) about Giuliani's statements. He clearly identified the source of the claim and just as clearly referred to it as an allegation the truth of which has not yet been established in court one way or the other. He did not assert Barnes' claim as being true (although as a matter of public record, it appears that it is true). There is nothing untoward or "biased" about any of this - unless by "biased" you mean "saying or making reference to things that displease me". It seems like right here you are finding what you are looking for.

It depends on how much controversy the media can manage to milk this for. If enough people are like, "Meh. That asshole was asking for it, because baby hostage", then nothing happens. I don't know who they are (or will be). I wish I did. Perhaps they don't exist. Perhaps they never will. (That is why I said, "It is to be hoped ...") Perhaps they are the same people who would be needed to implement & enforce any of the measures you mentioned as part of your "easy answer" in your previous post.
