I didn't say that was the best thing to do, just that it's highly unlikely he was shooting at the police. Again, past history is relevant in this case. He was still giving police officers free food even after the protests had started.

Have you actually read the Georgia trespassing statute? If you're on someone's property without permission and there isn't a no trespassing sign it's not trespassing. https://codes.findlaw.com/ga/title-16-crimes-and-offenses/ga-code-sect-16-7-21.html To be guilty of the crime of trespassing under Georgia law you have to either 1) Go onto the property after being told not to go on there. (Seeing a trespassing sign counts as being told). 2) Stay on the property after being told.

They will never be finished. Not to get too Ayn-Rand-ish here, but they don't hate "poverty" or "inequality" or "racism" or whatever. Nor do they hate Washington, Columbus, et al. Not really. What they hate is existence (their own and everyone else's), and they will never be satisfied. Not even after they have toppled everything. Read the following and ask yourself if you are surprised that Karl Marx is their spiritual godfather ... Because he was the one who invented it. Duh. What did I fail to give Columbus credit for? Of course it matters. So do the bad things that anyone does. And the worse the things someone does, the more it matters ...

Entirely apart from the statue fetish the left seems to have, Christopher Columbus was a greedy, cruel and vicious piece of shit. You don't have to be any kind of leftist to revile him. You just have to be a decent human being. Fuck him. As for the whole "discovering America" thing - the Vikings had already done that. Nothing came of it, though, so Columbus does get the "credit" (whatever it's worth) for "opening the way" to the so-called "New World." But that was bound to happen soon anyway. The Age of Exploration was already well under way. (In fact, it was precisely because the Age of Exploration was ongoing that the Spanish crown decided to sponsor Columbus. They wanted to beat Portugal in establishing a sea route to India and the Far East - but Vasco da Gama ended up getting there first for Portugal by sailing around Africa). And there was no chance that Russia was ever going to become a colonial power in the Americas. Unlike the Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and British, Russia had no navy to speak of. Alaska was discovered by a Russian-sponsored Dutchman (Vitus Bering). It was claimed by Russia and settled by some Russians (whalers, sealers and fishermen, mostly). But apparently, Russia had so little interest in their claim that at one point they even offered to sell it to Liechtenstein. Liechtenstein didn't want it either - so Russia ended up selling it to the United States instead ... China wasn't ever gong to colonize the Americas, either. As a matter of explicit policy, the Ming dynasty deliberately ended the cursory exploratory efforts in which China had previously engaged, (Culturally and institutionally, Confucianism held strong sway in China at the time - and Confucianism wasn't really compatible with colonialism or mercantilism.)

Looking at the data the daily count on June 22 was higher than June 23. Then there was a HUGE spike on July 6, possibly due to people crowding together on July 4th. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/washington/ Correlation != causation.

I got a haircut when the barbershops were still closed in Nashville. The bars had been opened so I assumed the barbershop was open as well. The barber looked around then motioned me to a back room. The lights in the front of the barbershop were on. It felt like a scene out of prohibition. He didn't have on a mask. I did. I could see drops of spit coming out when he talked. (Gross). I've gotten my haircut since then and I didn't see spit. (Everything was open and this was before the mask mandate).

It doesn't have to be expensive. Senegal is working on a $1 test. https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg24632823-700-cheap-and-easy-1-coronavirus-test-to-undergo-trials-in-senegal/ And pool testing could keep things cheap. Rather than running each test individually the, all the samples could be pooled together and tested at once. Then only test individuals when they found a positive. For example testing each dorm wing as a single test. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/may/21/africa-coronavirus-successes-innovation-europe-us Pioneered in Africa, the Trump administration is considering pool testing in the U.S.

If he's "done with Trump" it could be that "Trump is about done." There's little more that Kanye can expect to get out of Trump. The rumors are that Trump is pissed at Jared Kushner for pushing him (Trump) to support criminal justice reform when two years latter he has nothing to show for it politically. (Blacks seem hell bent to vote for the a$$hole that wrote the 1993 crime bill instead of voting for the a$$hole that undid it. Style over substance I guess). Even if Trump wins I don't see a "Second Step Act" in the works. But if is convinced he might LOOSE from a Kanye candidacy he might make some concessions. But I doubt a Kanye candidacy will gain any steam.

David Koresh could have been arrested by simply walking up to the door of his "compound" and knocking - and then presenting an arrest warrant when the door was answered. That is exactly how the Waco County sheriffs handled things when they had previously served warrants at Mount Carmel. IIRC, this happened at least three times or so. Once was a search warrant (for illegal guns, maybe?), once was a warrant for child welfare purposes, and once was even an arrest warrant for Koresh himself. I don't remember what the charge was, but apparently he was released after his alibi panned out (there was video of him in a Waco tavern or restaurant or something at the same time as the incident for which he had been arrested. (Again, this is all IIRC. I may have some of the particulars wrong - but not by much.) But in every single case, Koresh and the Davidians peacefully complied with the warrants. The one and only reason for the catastrophic zero-dark-thirty "no knock" raid was that the Feds wanted to conduct a big, flashy and exciting publicity stunt (they actually had a small pool of reporters standing by a few miles away when they went in, for just that purpose). And we all know how that turned out - they ended up getting a hell of a lot more excitement than they bargained for. Dozens of people died, including 25 children and two pregnant women. All because some goddam assholes with badges decided the story would be too boring if they just knocked on the door at a decent hour ...

Okay. More context. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2020/06/03/david-mcatee-shooting-did-louisville-man-shoot-police-officers/3135804001/ If he shot at anything it wasn't at police. It doesn't appear he was aiming at anyone. Again I don't blame the police. Fog of war and all that. But I don't blame the victim either. People on the right praise the Korean shop owners for protecting their businesses with guns in the L.A. riots. But in this case the gun owner is accused of "shooting at the police" when even the police don't say that.
