God forbid a Republican dominated Supreme Court declare "vast swaths" of the federal tax code unconstitutional, forcing the federal government to be drastically reduced. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/supreme-court-tax-decision-moore-v-us/ Washington — The Supreme Court on Thursday left intact an obscure tax enacted as part of Republicans' sweeping 2017 reform package that targets U.S. taxpayers with shares of certain foreign corporations. The court ruled 7-2 that the so-called mandatory repatriation tax, or MRT, is constitutional under Article I and the 16th Amendment, rejecting a challenge from a Washington couple, Charles and Kathleen Moore, who claimed the provision was outside the bounds of the Constitution. Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote the majority opinion. Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch dissented. "he precise and narrow question that the Court addresses today is whether Congress may attribute an entity's realized and undistributed income to the entity's shareholders or partners, and then tax the shareholders or partners on their portions of that income," Kavanaugh wrote. "This Court's longstanding precedents, reflected in and reinforced by Congress's longstanding practice, establish that the answer is yes."

It's a cheap and (usually) taste fruit! I also love peaches. (Not sure if that's considered a "black thing" or not). And mango. And kiwi. And dragon fruit. And pomegranates. (I knew another black family that had a tree in their year in Pell City Alabama). I guess I'm just fruity.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Swordsmyth again. Very good video. They should make a movie about him. As for Juneteenth as a holiday, it was originally just a "black thing" that we did (I remember when my aunt who is now 72 told me about it and I'd never heard of it before. I was a teen at the time I think). It's kind of like Jews having a holiday for....well everything. (Purim for example for the victory over the family of Haman). Fun fact. Memorial Day was created by freed slaves who wanted to honor Union POWs who died at a Confederate camp.

So....I'm going to kick myself for saying this, but Swordsmyth is actually correct. Bill Burr pointed this out in an excellent SNL opener a few years ago. The part about women grabbing the victimhood card is made at around 3:25. "You guys (white women) stuck beside us (white men) through centuries of our crimes against humanity. You rolled around in the blood money. And occasionally if you stuck off to get with a black dude and you got caught you said it wasn't consensual. So why don't you shut up, sit down next to me and take your talking to?" :D But he makes a brilliant point. In terms of economics, white women were in no way left behind. As their fathers, brothers, husbands moved ahead, they were pulled right along economically just the same. And long before there was a man of any race as President Of The United States there were women monarchs on every continent. As for gays getting the whole month of June, Bill Burr jokes about that too. "Oh. It's pride month. That's a little long for people who were never enslaved. How do black people get February, only 28 days, the sun goes down a 4 pm, everybody is shivering, nobody wants to go to the parade." And...at the end of the day....it's just jokes people. Lighten up.

Actually....the South instituted the draft before the North and the South exempted slave owners based on how many slaves they owned. Do you think that was right? Some areas of the South were slavery wasn't as prevalent seceded from their secessionist states. The Free State Of Jones is one example. Winston County Alabama is another example that is dramatized in a musical that's decades old called Incident At Looney's Tavern. And West Virginia seceding from Virginia is another. Of course the real kicker is, most Americans don't own oil wells but that doesn't mean America hasn't fought wars for oil. (Or bananas. Or opium.) Maybe you need to re-familiarize yourself with "War Is A Racket" by Smedley Butler? Anyhow, I love Josh Johnson's comedy even when I don't agree. Those who cut off comedians just because they are offended by their politics do themselves a disservice IMO. It's like all of the people who get offended by David Chappelle. (Which is just about everybody...but some have a sense of humor about it.)

I never heard that red velvet cake was a black thing. It is good though. True story. I grew up eating watermelon, including what we grew in the garden from saving and replanting seeds. (Nothing like growing your own food). All was fine until I went to a mostly white Christian boarding academy with it's fair share of racists. I'm not counting everyone who wore a confederate flag (that was half the school). I'm talking about people like the kid with the KKK cartoon on his dorm wall. (Klansman coming out of a flying saucer headed towards a black man picking a watermelon). From that and some comments another white kid made about me liking watermelon while he was eating his watermelon traumatized me to the point of where I didn't eat watermelon for a while even at home. (I wonder Anti Federalist if some of my descendants won't eat watermelon because of a genetic memory of the trauma? :D). Anyhow, this lasted for years even into college until a saw a black comedian doing a bit about how he hated white people stereotyping him and he ended the sketch with "And I walked out of the store with my watermelon." And I was like "Screw it! I shouldn't not enjoy something just because someone else, who might actually secretly enjoy it too, wants to make some racial comment about me enjoying it!" Oh, and here's how I came to terms about the whole confederate flag thing. Most of the time I just ignored it. There was one white girl at the school that came on to me. I seriously considered dating her until one day when a visiting concert band from up north played "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic", her and her roommate went back and got their confederate flag. (Odd because her roommate was from Alaska and how much more northern can you get?) She talked to me later and was like "I don't know why they were offended. It's just a confederate flag." I was like "Ummmm....okay." And then I lost interest. My other confederate flag experience in academy was when I was coding in the computer lab (probably improving a game I wrote), another student was using a computer to draw a swastika. I was like "Why the hell are you doing that?" He was like "I'm full blood German and this is part of my German heritage." I started to say something and then I was like "Drake, you fool! You give these white southerners a pass based on it's their southern heritage. The Nazis were terrible to the Jews but they didn't enslave Africans." (True fact. Hitler treated captured African American POWs and officers better than the U.S. Army by not segregating based on race. And there is the story of the African prince who's mother was German who grew up in Germany during WW 2 and was never persecuted in any way but was disappointed to find out he wasn't allowed to join the Hitler Youth.) When visiting the Christian college this academy was affiliated with, I was offered a good bit in scholarship money because even though my GPA wasn't great (3.17 if I recall), I had the highest ACT of my class. (28 which isn't as good as one of my sons who got a 32, but I took it without any test prep as I thought it was really meant to simply show what you learned in high school). But I declined their offer and got an HBCU to match it. Why? On the college visit our buses were met with student in confederate uniforms and antebellum dresses passing out confederate and U.S. flags. Petty? Maybe. I'm not going to tell other people how to live but I don't have to subject myself to everything either. (Much longer story than I meant that to be.)

More dishonest deflection from you. I'M NOT FVCKING TALKING ABOUT TRUMP! So take Trump OUT of the equation! If someone other than Trump (A president Rand Paul in 2029 for example) persuaded congress to pass replacing the income tax with tariffs on imports, do you think that would be a workable idea? Why or why not?

Yeah. I mentioned no fault divorce....given to us by "conservative" Ronald Reagan who basically wanted one for himself. Oh and he was an early proponent of gun control too. Reminds me of another more recent "conservative" president...but I digress.

 I'm talking about specifically regarding the break up of the family. You're welcome to jump into the stream of a conversation but not welcome to change the subject. Please address what's actually being discussed at the moment thank you very much. Edit: And please understand that the words immigration and integration are not the same thing. Consult a dictionary if necessary. For a further reference see: https://www.vox.com/2015/3/18/8237299/irish-crime-1850s Americans can look back to the Irish immigrants of the 1850s to see that criminal justice disparities are very often a symptom of vast socioeconomic disparities, not traits inherent to a certain group of people.

Well I have a son who's become acclimatized to Chicago. Okay. But I thought the point of the 3 hour Tucker interview that I haven't watched yet is that the problem with the Civil Rights Movement is that it got people thinking collectively? I'm seriously confused as to what your position is. Did you watch the Joe Rogan interview I posted about Sparta? Just curious.

Maybe. Maybe not. As Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, and others have pointed out far more effectively and eloquently than I could ever hope to do, as long as "diversity" hiring and honoring are things, suspicions that "diverse" hires and honors might have been otherwise undeserved will also be things. Such suspicions may be incorrect in any particular case (such as this one), but they are not automatically unreasonable. That is one of the ugly things that makes the practice of "diversity" hiring and honoring so nasty and pernicious (and counter-productive in the long term).

No offense, but your winter doesn't look that appealing to me. :) I'll listen to it sometime when I have a 3 hour drive by myself. But this begs the question. Isn't this entire thread collectively viewing people? I'm seriously stunned by the genetic trauma argument coming from you as that is the kind of argument I would be expecting from a critical race theorist. If Pat Buchannan endorsed that view that's even more shocking. This reminds me of a song.
