All it takes to put the program into the red and drawing money from the general fund is a large enough economic downturn and/or a decrease in the population. It will get there eventually anyway and it is very bad just to force people to save for retirement by giving money to the government anyway. I'm not especially except that it show it always was a Ponzi scheme.

I want to eliminate them now, but since that is unlikely I want to take away the vote from felons because there are more of them that are legitimate than there are fake crime felons. If we let felons vote we will never decrease government because they vote for the party of ever larger government. They are not. I don't want to let illegals come here and vote for big government either.

It was always a Ponzi scheme, the first beneficiary received far more than they put in. It's time to end it.

A paramilitary group claimed responsibility for the shooting death of a journalist during rioting in Northern Ireland. In a statement to the Irish Times on Monday, the new IRA said, "In the course of attacking the enemy, Lyra McKee was tragically killed while standing beside enemy forces." McKee, 29, was standing near a police vehicle during rioting April 18 in the town of Londonderry, also referred to as Derry, when she was struck by a bullet shot by a member of the Irish nationalist group at the police. "The IRA offer our full and sincere apologies to the partner, family and friends of Lyra McKee for her death," the group said in the statement. Rioting broke out last week following a police search of homes belonging to republican dissidents in the town's Creggan neighborhood. Police believed the residents to have been storing weapons with intent to use them during the Easter holiday, a day known for dissident activity in the country. The group said in the statement it blamed police of "provoking" the riot that led to McKee's death. "On Thursday night, following an incursion on the Creggan by heavily armed British crown forces, which provoked rioting, the IRA deployed our volunteers to engage," it said while calling on Saoradh, an organization with connections to the New IRA, to also apologize.

The Islamic State terror group claimed credit Tuesday for the suicide attacks in Sri Lanka that killed more than 300 people, which officials believe was motivated by revenge over last month's attacks on two New Zealand mosques. About 50 people died at the mosques in Christchurch on March 15. Authorities say they were shot dead by a white nationalist from Australia. Sri Lankan defense minister Ruwan Wijewardene told lawmakers Tuesday the coordinated bombings Sunday amounted to payback. "Investigations have revealed that the attacks were carried out by Islamic extremists in retaliation to the mosque attacks in Christchurch, New Zealand," Wijewardene told Sri Lanka Parliament. Sri Lanka officials raised the death toll Tuesday to 321, as nearly two dozen injured succumbed to their wounds in hospitals. More than 500 people were hurt in the attacks, which targeted three churches and three hotels in the capital, Colombo. The Islamic State terror group claimed responsibility for the attacks, the network's Amaq news agency said Tuesday. Sri Lankan officials previously said local terror group National Thowheed Jamaththey was involved in the plot, but stressed it likely received help from a more sophisticated "international" group. Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said officers have arrested about 40 suspects, all of whom are Sri Lankan citizens.

A 6.5 magnitude earthquake rocked San Julian on the Philippines island of Eastern Samar Tuesday, a day after an earthquake hit the Asian nation's largest Luzon island, killing at least 11 people. The quake occurred at 1:37 p.m. Tuesday and was tectonic in origin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said, adding that damages and aftershocks were expected. San Julian was the only town that experienced Intensity 6 effects, which the institute describes as "very strong," while numerous towns on the island experienced Intensity 5, which is considered "strong" and Intensity 4, which is considered "moderately strong." More than 100 university students in Vietnam are accused of manipulating their test scores in order to gain admission to the country's top colleges, according to a South Korean press report. Television network KBS reported Monday from Vietnam public anger is rising following revelations 108 students used their elite connections to gain entry into top schools. A total of 53 students in the group have voluntarily dropped out following the charges, or have been expelled from their institutions, the report said, quoting local Vietnamese news sources. All students accused of cheating in last year's June entrance exam hail from one of two provinces: Hoa Binh and Son La, both located in the northwest region of Vietnam, about 2-6 hours from Hanoi, the capital. The students were enrolled at Vietnam's most prestigious schools: National Economics University, Foreign Trade University and Hanoi Medical University. A total of 16 Vietnamese education administration officials who abetted the students have been arrested and were taken into custody. The students were helped from the inside; students' answers and scores were saved to two separate CDs in Hoa Binh and Son La. One CD reportedly contained the students' responses, the second CD contained the scores, but the original data was tampered with before they were processed for final scoring, according to KBS.

I was against Trump before he exceeded my expectations, I will give Nigel the same consideration if he exceeds my expectations. I am also ready to drop Trump for anything better that comes along, the UK has UKIP that is better than Nigel.

I am not talking about fake crimes, those should be eliminated and the people who were incarcerated for them should have their records purged and be restored to full citizenship. Burglars, rapists and murderers etc. should not have a hand in determining government policy.

He's just about got it whipped. In the tracking link below he has made it across and only has a couple hundred miles left to go. I have been following him since he left Spain and many times he got stuck in the middle of the Atlantic going around in circles. That had to have been frustrating. But he is entering shipping lanes now which might be the most dangerous part of the trip.

I am not ignorant, everywhere that felons are allowed to vote they vote for the party that destroys liberty the most. Your individual exception does not change that.

That's nice but government and voting is a collective issue, if felons are allowed to vote YOU will have less liberty than if they are not.

This morning I went and looked it up. But "Citizens arrest" and hand over to the proper authorities is completely legal in Texas. It must be verbally explained they are under arrest. no more physical force than necessary, and they had to have witnessed the crime happen.
