You all can just ignore me, which I think you do anyway, but I’m just going to chat. Fact: *Overrated* Florida had only two losses—to the teams that played for the SEC championship. Fact: LSU has now beaten 5 teams that were in the top 10 when they played. Texas (9), Auburn (9), Florida (7), Alabama (3), and Georgia (4). Fact: Georgia’s only regular season loss was to South Carolina who almost beat Clemson. Fact: Alabama’s only regular season losses were to LSU and Auburn (who opened the season with a win over Oregon). Fact: Notre Dame paid a visit to Athens. Fact: When Arkansas State came to Athens, fans were asked to wear pink in memory of Wendy Anderson, wife of Arkansas State coach Blake Anderson. Wendy lost her fight with breast cancer in August 2019. Fact: The 2019 SEC Championship game featured two teams in the top 5–the only conference championship to have that distinction.

Did you watch LSU at all? It was never close, but what a treat. Lots of interesting, creative, exciting football.

I don’t either. Ohio State made their choice. They took quite a risk. We are watching the SEC championship as if. What a treat. Joe Burrow is the real deal.

Here’s an ethical dilemma. Suppose LSU and OSU meet at some point in the fake playoff scenario. Does it make any kind of difference that a little more than a year ago Joe Burrow was playing for OSU? I’m going to work. Please discuss.

I just took a quick shower and asked husband, “Has Oregon started blowing the lead yet?” That’s how they opened their season. Against the team that is arguably the third- or fourth-best team in the SEC.

This may be the season of the transfer quarterback. Alabama’s rejected guy when to Oklahoma. Ohio State’s spurned guy is leading the charge at LSU.

Husband generally has a bah humbug attitude for any holiday—especially Christmas. I like the quiet reflection. One of the things I learned from the liturgical year is that preparation must precede celebration. I believe the Incarnation is foundational to our doctrine. Without life there is no death. Without death there is no resurrection.

Anyone doing anything special during Advent? We are listening to a chapter of the Gospel of Luke every night. Luke has 24 chapters, so we will have the whole life of Christ by Christmas.

Before the roll-out of Common Core, 10 organizations got together in 2005 and created a “nonprofit” whose mission was about collecting and standardizing children’s data. That organization, The Data Quality Campaign, was and is funded by Bill Gates. One of the Data Quality Campaign’s founding partners was the Alliance for Excellent Education, All4Ed. All4Ed today announced their partnership in the NewDeal for Education with a network of partners including HP, Gates, Markle, Jobs for the Future, Aspen Institute, Joyce Foundation, Third Way, Center for American Progress, and “180 carefully-selected state and local officials below the level of Governor, from 47 states”. What’s this NewDeal about? Well, read it for yourself, but we see: School-to-Work pipeline, Workforce pathways, Workforce databadges, Social Impact Investment and shifting education from children learning knowledge to children being trained to fill the economic needs of a global workforce. It echoes Betsy DeVos and the Swiss workforce model that she signed us up for. You should ask your state and local officials what the NewDeal means for your school. Link

Not socially adaptable? That’s a laugh. How many home school gangs go on smash and grab sprees? You are more likely to see home schoolers serving the homeless, tutoring, supporting animal charities, interning with a landscaper, or something like that. There are the homesteading kinds of home schoolers, but we live right in the middle of a metropolitan area. Our daughter had a lot of opportunities because we were urban home schoolers. And I will note that home schooling should be considered by all parents. One of the comments I often heard was, “I could never home school. My kids don’t listen to me.” My reply: “What are you doing about that?”

No doubt the top-flight schools in the SEC match that. Not Vanderbilt. Their stadium is not as nice as some high school stadiums here in town.

His position on life is admirable. He says abortion is not a legitimate use of government (duh), but he does not say how he would resolve the truckloads of money the government confiscates from us to fund the industry.

All I understand is w-l. Truly, we did not foresee the Titans having much success with the Colts. That’s what we have come to expect. We are happy when they do well. We have only been to one game ever, even though we can see the stadium from our house.

One plays in a conference that barely has a pulse and other one fills their no conference schedule with a bunch of little girls. Florida has underperformed this year, but they are a very good team.

You all can keep buying the media line that Ohio State is the best team in the country if you want to. What I will say is that this phony system is set up to hand them a championship and to disrespect the SEC. This does a disservice to the game. Since the only time OSU has actually took the gift that was handed to them, the trophy has been traded off between Clemson and Alabama. I’m sure those two teams wonder if they could have played a better team than Ohio State, and they might have liked the chance. Every week the Southeastern Conference suits up and plays like they are in an elimination game because they are. I am beyond disappointed in the way the media do this every single year. They will never concede that football exists outside the pedophile conference. Sorry, but there you go. The fact that the media only looks at their own poll and they apply a different metric every time is just ridiculous. And oddly, they aren’t talking about sending two teams from any other conference to the faux playoffs. Go figure. And Geaux Tigers.
