"U.S. troops deploying to Afghanistan were taught for years that child sex abuse is a “culturally accepted practice” ... A new Pentagon inspector general report reveals that although troops weren’t explicitly discouraged from reporting cases of child sex abuse, the issue was not discussed until numerous media outlets reported that troops were encouraged to ignore local Afghan officials abusing little boys. ... “were told that nothing could be done about child sexual abuse because of Afghanistan’s status as a sovereign nation, that it was not a priority for the command, or that it was best to ignore the situation and to let the local police handle it,” the report noted. ... “Soldiers told to ignore it and drive on,” another interviewee stated. The inspector general’s finding was damning. ... “We determined that the DoD did not conduct training for personnel on identifying, responding to, or reporting instances of child sexual abuse involving ANDSF personnel before 2015,” the report noted. ...

A horticulturally ignorant Nationwide insurance adjuster, Jonathan Yeamans, came to the couple’s house to assess a fallen tree. He saw hibiscus flower plants he though was “suspicious” and so notified the police that it was marijuana and provided photos. The Buffalo Township police, who ought to know the difference between hibiscus flowers and marijuana, proved just as ignorant and incompetent. In response to the photo, the police sent an assault team with rifles drawn. They handcuffed and placed the elderly couple in a police cruiser for over four hours while searching the home and damaging the premises. The couple insisted these were ordinary hibiscus flower plants, but officers called them liars and told Ms. Cramer her husband had been lying to her. Eventually a police sergeant informed the Department that hibiscus flower plants are not marijuana, and they released the handcuffed couple to their damaged home without any charges. Even after its adjuster’s accusations were proven false, Nationwide Insurance, which initiated the fiasco, nevertheless then notified the couple three weeks later that marijuana was found on their property and it would be cancelling their insurance until the plants were removed. http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2017/11/16/hibiscus-marijuana-mix-up-buffalo-township/

Another Step toward Sovietization of American Media This week the US Department of Justice Criminal Division forced ... RT to register as a “foreign agent” ... The move comes on the heels of Senators’ recent demands that terrified tech giants Twitter, Facebook, and Google act as ideological filters. ... more ominous is what the move against RT says about America’s rulers’ further intention to limit the sources of information available to its subjects. ... The attack on RT is a milestone in the degeneration of the American official (call them what you want – corporate, legacy, mainstream) media into PR agencies for the governing establishment and its ideological imperatives. We’ve been moving along this path for a while now, and it’s going to get worse. ... By its attack on RT, the US government is officially telling us that only the mainstream media (MSM) can be regarded as are purveyors of Truth and that anybody not on the approved list is fake. How do we know? Why, the MSM themselves tell us! The Washington Post’s “Democracy Dies in Darkness.” CNN’s “Facts First.” The New York Times’ “The Truth is Hard.” ...

Now MBS has arrested dozens of high ranking military officers: After jailing dozens of members of the royal family, and extorting numerous prominent businessmen, 32-year-old Saudi prince Mohammed bin Salman has widened his so-called 'corruption' probe further still. The Wall Street Journal reports that at least two dozen military officers, including multiple commanders, recently have been rounded up in connection to the Saudi government’s sweeping corruption investigation, according to two senior advisers to the Saudi government. Additionally, several prominent businessmen also were taken in by Saudi authorities in recent days. … But their detainment signals an intensifying high-stakescampaign spearheaded by Saudi Arabia’s 32-year-old crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman.

So FaceBook is filled with nonsense, and therefore FaceBook's politically pressured censorship on dissenting or "fake news" is fine? When Senators, who have the power to regulate a company into oblivion, drag social media executives to capital hill to browbeat them over postings and commentary speech they label as "discord", and demand they implement "voluntary" codes of conduct banning "fake" news or dissenting speech, that is simply politically outsourced censorship.

FaceBook Censors Caitlyn Johnstone for Sharing Link to Article About Documented False Flag Operations The article I got the banhammer for sharing is titled For Those Who Don’t ‘Believe’ In ‘Conspiracies’ Here Are 58 Admitted False Flag Attacks. According to the site’s ticker it has 50,667 shares as of this writing. It’s laden with hyperlinks for further reading, and lists only instances of false flag operations that insiders are on the record as having admitted to themselves. It’s a good compilation of important information. People should be allowed to share it. … The notifications say I can be permanently banned if I continue posting that sort of material. I’ve had that account since 2007. … When there’s no meaningful space between corporate power and government power, it doesn’t make much difference whether the guy silencing your dissent is Mark Zuckerberg or Jeff Sessions. America most definitely has such a system. … In a recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, plutocrat-sponsored senators spoke with top legal and security officials for Facebook, Twitter and Google in a very disturbing way about the need to silence dissenting voices.

The problem with these SJW left authoritarians is they get maniacally crazed over trivial twitter tweets and petty taunts; Meanwhile they cheer the real issues they ought to be upset over, like launching 59 missiles into Syria, and deep state propaganda war to manufacture conflict between nuclear superpowers, and now offer blind religious-like fealty to the pinnacles of police state apparatus - deep state, CIA, FBI, NSA. Left Becomes Increasingly Unhinged New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg, in a column last week headlined “Anniversary of the Apocalypse,” lamented the “terror-struck and vertiginous days” after Trump’s win and the ongoing “metaphysical whiplash” and “hideous interregnum,” which leaves her “poleaxed by grief at the destruction of our civic inheritance.” Professor Henry Giroux of McMaster University frothed that Trump’s “ascendancy in American politics has made visible a culture of cruelty, a contempt for civic literacy, a corrupt mode of governance and a disdain for informed judgment that has been decades in the making.” … But while Trump poses plenty of constitutional perils, many of his opponents are even more authoritarian. Anti-Trump fervor is making liberals far more illiberal. Commentators in The Washington Post and The New York Times have called for selective censorship of ideas and doctrines they abhor. A recent Washington Post article touted 38 fixes for democracy including mandating three years of compulsory labor for young people in the military of AmeriCorps-like programs, outlawing private education, punitively punishing gun owners and vastly increasing redistribution to end racial inequities. …

ZeroHedge: At a moment of widespread acknowledgement that the short-lived Islamic State is no longer a reality, and as ISIS is about to be defeated by the Syrian Army in its last urban holdout of Abu Kamal City in eastern Syria, the US is signaling an open-ended military presence in Syria. … Mattis indicated that even should ISIS loose all of its territory there would still be a dangerous insurgency that could morph into an "ISIS 2.0" which he said the US would seek to prevent. … Ironically just as some degree of stability and normalcy has returned to many parts of the county now under government control, Mattis coupled the idea of a permanent US military presence with the goal of allowing Syrians to return to their homes. … Meanwhile Turkey once again reiterated that the US has 13 bases in Syria … though only a year-and-a-half ago the American public was being assured that there would be "no boots on the ground" due to mission creep in Syria. …
