Not thinking or not very smart on the image front. They certainly get an "F-" grade for public relations and marketing. If someone simply coached them to instead waive America flags, shout "We love America" and other praises for America, sing God Bless America, proclaim love for America and Jesus, then Republicans would be sending busses to pick them up. If they all wore MAGA hats and shirts and cheered for Trump, Trump would pushing a way to fast track them for citizenship. As a side note, notice that the caravan appears to be all adult males from this photo - no women, families, no children.

This myth that immigrants receive no welfare benefits at all keeps circulating, but it is a blatant falsehood. There are many different welfare programs, not just one. And the government establishes different classes of immigrants. While generally, legal immigrants are barred from federal means-tested assistance programs for five years, there are many exceptions to that rule. Not only do immigrants receive welfare, but there are welfare benefits specifically for certain immigrant classes. For instance the State Department’s Own Data Reports DHHS Spent $126 billion on Refugees in 10 Years: “Americans spent almost $100 billion to support 606,000 poor refugees in the 10 years up to 2014, according to a State Department report. The $96.6 billion cost rises to $126 billion when officials count the extra cost of paying for the refugees’ spouses and children, including U.S.-born children. The $126 billion bill is just for programs managed by the Department of Health and Human Services. It excludes additional taxpayers’ spending via state programs, as well as federal spending on Social Security, education, and housing programs, plus tax credits, says the State Department’s annual report to Congress on the refugee program. …

Caitlyn Johnstone blasts Russia-gaters: “Putin’s Puppet” Advances Nuclear Missile Escalations Against Putin Yesterday the news broke that Swamp Monster-In-Chief John Bolton has been pushing President Trump to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces … Today, Trump has announced that he will be doing exactly as Bolton instructed. This would be the second missile treaty between the US and Russia that America has withdrawn from since it abandoned the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty in 2002. John Bolton, an actual psychopath who Trump hired … ran point on that move as well back when he was part of the increasingly indistinguishable Bush administration. … “This is the most severe crisis in nuclear arms control since the 1980s,” Malcolm Chalmers, the deputy director general of the Royal United Services Institute, told The Guardian. “If the INF treaty collapses, and with the New Start treaty on strategic arms due to expire in 2021, the world could be left without any limits on the nuclear arsenals of nuclear states for the first time since 1972.” … “Russia has violated the agreement. They’ve been violating it for many years and I don’t know why President Obama didn’t negotiate or pull out,” Trump told reporters … What Trump did not mention is that the US has indeed been in violation of that agreement due to steps it began taking toward the development of a new ground-launched cruise missile last year. The US claims it began taking those steps due to Russian violations of the treaty with its own arsenal, while Russia claims the US has already been in violation of multiple arms control, nonproliferation, and disarmament agreements. …

Facebook Sells $300,000 In Ads to Disabled Vet, Then Purges His Pages Facebook banned several pages operated by disabled by Air Force veteran Brian Kolfage, after he says he spent $300,000 on advertising. The social media giant removed without warning Kolfage's Right Wing News and Military Grade Coffee Company (which donates 10% of all profits to veteran organizations), in a site-wide effort to crack down on "misinformation" on the network. Right Wing News alone had over 3 million followers at the time of its banning. Facebook conveniently purged the site 2 weeks before elections] … According to his new wesbite, Kolfage, a triple amputee, explains: "Facebook shut down thousands of Facebook accounts for their political opinions, saying in effect that they don’t have a 'legitimate political argument.'” …

Drop of few excerpts of Native American wisdom here: A hundred years of submission and servitude, of protectionism and paternalism have created psychological barriers for Indian people that are far more difficult to break down and conquer than are the problems of economic and social poverty. - David Courchene, Leading Thunderbird (Manitoba) (1969). ... Most members of the National Indian Youth Council can remember when we were children and sent many hours at the feet of our grandfathers listening to stories of the time when the Indians were a great people, when we were free, when we were rich, when we lived the good life. At the same time we hear stories of droughts, famines, and pestilence among Indian people. But it is only recently that we realized that there was surely great material deprivation in those days, and that our old people felt rich because they were free. They were rich in the things of the spirit. But if there is one thing that characterizes the Indian life today it is poverty of the spirit. … we are poor in spirit because we are not free … We are not free. We do not make choices. Our choices are made for us … these choices and decisions are made by Federal administrators, bureaucrats, and their yes men, euphemistically called tribal governments. … We have many rulers. They are called social workers, cops, school teachers, churches, et cetera, and recently OEO employees … they tell us what is good for us and how they programmed us … there is a struggle going on in America now between those who want more “local” control of programs and those who would keep the power and the purse in the hands of the Federal Government. … no one is arguing that the dispossessed, the poor , be given any control over their own destiny. … Nor have those of us on the reservations fared any better under the paternalistic control of Federal administrators. … Some of us fear that this is the shape of things to come in the War on Poverty effort. … We are told in the not-so-subtle racist vocabulary of the modern middle class that our children are “deprived.” Exactly what they are deprived of seems to be unstated. We give our children love, warmth, and respect in our homes and the qualities necessary to be a warm human being. … Perhaps they have a hard time reconciling themselves to being a number on an IBM card. Nevertheless, many educators and politicians seem to assume that we, the poor, the Indians, are not capable of handling our own affairs and even raising our own children, and that the State institutions must do that job for us and take them away from us as soon as they can. My grandmother said last week, “Train your child well now for soon she will belong to her teacher and the schools.” …

With Kashoggi Murder, Media Moguls Suddenly Discover that Saudi Regime is Evil They weren’t appalled a few weeks ago, when the Saudis blew up a bus full of school children. But they are appalled now … Yemen … It’s the poorest country in the Middle-East and it’s being systematically destroyed by its vastly richer neighbors, with the full backing and cooperation of NATO. In fact, we’re making a fortune out of it. Bombs are expensive, the Saudis need a lot of them, and you can only use them once. Ker-ching. … Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy with a laughable track-record when it comes to human rights. This has been known for decades … Barely a week goes by without some author, somewhere in the alternate media, writing up a story about the crimes of the House of Saud … When he was selling wars in Libya and Syria, did Freedland ever once suggest the “humanitarian bombing” of Riyadh? Did he object to his paper selling ad space to promote the Muhammed bin Salman, “the great reformer”? Did he boycott events or protest arms deals or in any way speak out? Did he devote even a single one his columns to the war in Yemen? …

Trump Administration Bans US Aid Groups From North Korea While the Trump Administration has long maintained that sanctions against North Korea don’t impact humanitarian aid, in practice the administration has banned all American aid groups from the country, shutting down aid efforts. This comes as the administration looks to increase sanctions against North Korea, and to make sure that growing diplomatic progress between them and the rest of the world doesn’t end up easing their isolation. … All US groups involved in such project, however, are getting the same answer, rejecting their travel. Aid groups also reported confusion at the Treasury Department about the regulation and licensing of NGOs that had worked with North Korea’s government, including on aid projects. Cutting through the red tape is all but impossible at this point.

Sen. Corker: Trump Must End Intel Blockade on Khashoggi When the head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee sought to follow up on the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi, the intelligence community refused to give him access to any recent information on the case. President Trump is inclined to let the issue slide, and that means he’s also inclined to keep the Senate in the dark as long as possible. ...
