This is similar to using generic chlorine bleach to sanitize your pool or apple cider vinegar+dish soap to make fruit fly traps. EPA claims jurisdiction over the use of anything used to kills pests, even the manner in which non-registered products are used to kill pests. There's a little warning on every registered pesticide: "It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling."
Yet, on the EPA's own website, they have instructions on how to use a non-registered chlorine bleach to disinfect water for drinking. These duplicitous fucks want it both ways. It's maddening.
