The Secret Service reaction and planning was a large failure... They were about 1.25 seconds too slow getting to him. Also, they just stayed there, with minimal defenses/armoring, AND, there was no cover between him and the escape vehicle. Not to mention if you watch, one of the female agents fumbles her weapon and holster. Furthermore, how could the SS miss a vantage point from which to do this? Clearly it was planned. They didn't have someone up there? They didn't have someone monitoring that area? They didn't see the gunman climbing into position? Massive failure on their part.

This makes a lot of sense. But you would have seen me out of there nearly immediately.

True, but I always look for an escape path... maybe I'm weird, but I always know my exits and routes out. As someone who is an Eagle Scout and pilot and who did almost 2 decades in event production it's just natural to me... be it a restaurant or stadium or anything in between.

I doubt that... I don't think it has enough range/accuracy for that distance. I'm not an expert but that's my understanding.

So everyone just sits there and watches? No one gets up to run out of there?

Dr. Paul Joins Sen. Schmitt in Efforts to Retake Legislative Authority from Unaccountable Administrative State WASHINGTON, D.C. Ė Following the Supreme Courtís ruling in Loper Bright, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) joined U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) today in launching a major effort to retake legislative authority away from administrative agencies and place it back where it belongs: the Article I branch. That major effort includes the filing of the Separation of Powers Restoration Act (SOPRA), the launching of a working group of Senators that will regularly meet to discuss furthering this goal, and letters to 101 agencies that have published more than 50 final rules since 2000 demanding answers on how current regulatory processes will be handled following the Loper Bright decision: ďThe whims of an unaccountable administrative state should never rule our lives. The Supreme Courtís decision to dismantle Chevron deference stripped away some of the power it wrongly gave to unelected bureaucrats years ago, but thereís still work to do. Itís time for the Senate to rein in administrative overreach and restore Courts to their proper, constitutionally assigned role as the interpreters of the law. Iím proud to join Senator Schmitt in working for a more transparent, accountable, and restrained government in the post-Chevron era,Ē said Dr. Rand Paul. ďThe Supreme Courtís decision in Loper Bright was a critical blow to the disastrous Chevron deference standard and represents an opportunity to Congress to retake legislative power from agencies and dismantle the administrative state. For far too long, the deck has been stacked against citizens while these all-powerful alphabet soup agencies run roughshod. Congress has abdicated its duty to legislate to nameless and faceless bureaucrats at agencies dotted around D.C. Ė itís time to take that power back and return to a truly representative government. Iím proud to lead my colleagues in working to continue to dismantle the administrative state following the Supreme Courtís decision in Loper Bright,Ē said Senator Eric Schmitt.

JD Vance is currently at the top on PredictIt with 46 cents, more than double the next candidate down, Doug Burghum at 22 cents. JD is the second best choice to Vivek.. although Vivek would have been miles better, slightly better on policy and liberty, but also since JD Vance is a pretty decent Senator, who would then need to be replaced. You also get the minority box checked off.

Biden exceeded expectations but it was still a poor showing given that he was supposed to be at his best. He kept mixing up names, couldn't complete thoughts, was partly incoherent, and rambled off topic. Not even to mention the usual factually incorrect statements which could either just be lies or memory lapses. He cannot win.

Dr. Rand Paul Introduces Risky Research Review Act to Oversee Gain-of-Function Research Funding WASHINGTON, D.C. Ė Yesterday, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Ranking Member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, introduced the Risky Research Review Act, a first-of-its-kind proposal to establish a Life Sciences Research Security Board within the Executive Branch. This independent board will oversee the funding of gain-of-function research and other high-risk life sciences research that potentially poses a threat to public health, safety, or national security. The Life Sciences Research Security Board will serve as an independent body responsible for thoroughly evaluating gain-of-function research and other studies involving the collection, surveillance, genetic modification, or synthetic creation of potential pandemic pathogens. Currently, the funding and study of life sciences research lack sufficient government oversight, allowing American taxpayer dollars to be spent without appropriate checks. Dr. Paulís legislation establishes a stringent review process for the board to assess high-risk research and decide whether tax dollars should support specific research proposals. The Risky Research Review Act will:
