Genesis 4:1 couldn't be more clear. You know a doctrine is false when it directly contradicts clear scriptures and rests solely on adding to the text what is not there. Adam had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived, gave birth to Cain and said, “I have gotten a man with the help of the Lord.” Pete is right. Look at the fruit of this doctrine. Even though (as I mentioned before) not everyone who believes it is racist, it is usually used by racists to justify racist ideas instead of viewing people as individuals. It also produces a very "us against them" mindset. It puts all the emphasis on the physical, which clearly contradicts other scriptures throughout the Bible. That divisive or hateful bad fruit is more evidence that this doctrine is not from God. This doctrine is a deception.

Yes, that has been my experience too, although I haven't had to go to the doctor much in the last several years. It's so cheap to live there too. When I lived in Mazatlan (for missions) I had a cute two–bedroom apartment directly across the street from the beach for $240 a month. I thought that was a great deal, but I met an expat there who said that was actually expensive compared to some other places he knew about. :p

Respectfully, I think this view is based on misinterpretation as well as adding on to the text what is not there. Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 are written in two completely different styles. Genesis 1 is clearly sequential. It describes what happened on each day, and in my reading of it, it's very clear that Adam was created on the sixth day. 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Genesis 1:26–31) Genesis 2 is not written in that sequential style. Also, before I continue I think it should be stated that the Bible was divided up into chapters later, but originally it was not written with chapters and verses. In my view and in the view of others, some of the chapter breaks were poorly placed. Because the beginning of Genesis 2 is actually the end of chapter 1. Unfortunately this can cause confusion, and I think this "eighth day" theory is a perfect example of that.

1945 was the last year for Mercury dimes and 1932 was the first year of the Washington quarter . From 1892 - 1916 the dimes , quarters & halves are called Barber design . The Mercury dime ran 1916 also to 1945 . The Standing Liberty quarter ran also 1916 to 1930 , you will likely not see any of those with a date remaining except 1925 - 1930 .

Three reasons really , I like them better . They are universally recognized as 90 percent silver without checking dates or flipping on the edge to look for the copper sandwich and some are worth a little more than the junk silver price. Also , sometimes you can make a deal on 1965 to 1969 halves , they are 40 percent silver and lots of people really do not like them . About three 90 percent halves are about an ounce , my local shop often sells 40 percent halves by the ounce for under spot . There are a couple guys who buy them there for under melt . They buy them at around 1.55 to 1.75 and sell them around 1.75 - 2.00 . They actually are 40 percent to 1970 but those will not turn up because they had to be purchased from the mint . The '65 - '69's were circulated to Banks .

I respectfully disagree with you, Pete. I get my information from many sources, and cross-reference it with other Bible studying tools. You are repeating the same lies I was taught before actually studying the information myself. Colossians 1:26-27 (KJV) 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Matthew 13:43 (KJV)

No. America's crime rates would be a lot lower if we got rid ot the WoD & the Wot- unfortunately this is a huge profit machine for the alphabets & MIC. Most US crime isn't immigrant based- it's "victimless crime" based- meaning years in jail for smoking a joint.

You're deliberately not getting it. It's not the artwork that made you post it, it's the pushy evangelistic message put on top of it.

I'll solve my problem with you by putting you on ignore and that will be the end of it since you are unmistakably unwilling to respect any boundaries to the pouring forth of religious spew into places it is not wanted.

RPF has a function to ignore the Religion forum. I use it, and that works well.

Unfortunately, it seems a common trait of followers of certain branches of Christianity that they simply cannot mentally process the idea of respecting others and exerting self-control when it comes to pushing their dogma in other people's faces. They are simply unable to stop themselves, as if they are afflicted by a form of Tourette's. The behavior is actually identical to that of homosexuals, they simply can't keep their bad habits to themselves, they have an insatiable need to have others approve of their lifestyles. I find the injection of homosexuality into situations it has not been invited both rude and inappropriate in exactly the same way as I find the injection of religious dogma.

Exercise some self control and respect for others, please. Imposing a requirement on others that every last one of these rude interjections be individually hidden is not even close to reasonable.

    re: your message

Posting a picture on the funny pictures thread that requires a specific religious belief to get it is evangelism. At a certain point (a point long in the past) it should have been made clear to you that this is discourteous and annoying to others. The religion forum exists specifically because that kind of thing is unwanted and unwelcome by a great many participants on this board. Please do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and don't pollute an amusement thread with proselytization.

"CTHULHUESQUE" MAY ALSO BE USED, BUT MORE IN THE SENSE OF SOMETHING THAT IS SIMILAR TO OR EVOCATIVE OF (RATHER THAN DIRECTLY RELATED TO OR INVOLVED IN) THE CTHULHU MYTHOS.
