Most school shooters are boys, but there were more than a few female shooters. The media has made a conscious decision turn this into a "boys" thing. I find it suspicious that the media wants to ignore the fact that 16 year old Brenda Spencer shot up a school in CA., on January 29, 1979. Spencer was the inspiration for the song I don't like Mondays by the Boomtown Rats. School shootings were unheard of at that time and it was sad and surprising to learn that this girl actually shot at younger kids and murdered two adults. I remember hearing the reports and I can tell you what's changed since then - it's the media coverage! The sensationalization and politicizing have turned a tragic occurrence into a thrill-packed, mass-media adventure that lasts a week or more! This kind of media response has only made shooting up a school more appealing to an unhappy kid looking for recognition! Internet, or no internet, this response well surpasses the 15 minutes of fame Andy Warhol spoke of. Why do reporters feel it's necessary to point out the latest school shooting set a new record for number of people killed? Nothing like letting the next stupid kid know how many kills he should aspire to in order to become the next record holder! I have to wonder if the reason Cruz stopped shooting and went to McDonalds was simply because he was keeping count and was satisfied once he knew he'd surpassed the previous record.

The state of Florida has the Baker Act, "under which he can be held involuntarily for up to 12 hours for an involuntary psychiatric exam." They put this questionable law on their books and probably celebrated themselves when it passed. Under what circumstances did they imagine using it, if not for something like this?

The media is outraged because they're losing their long-held monopoly on misinforming the public. They're screaming about Russians now, but ultimately, what they want is a censored internet that is unable to interfere with their own plans.

Isn't this what Israel has had college kids doing since the 90's? What was it called - "megaphone"?

So most of what they did took place on social media websites? Pretty lame to continue suggesting that this is why Hillary didn't get elected. It could, however, explain the many bland and clueless comments from supposed-Trump supporters around the internet, in early 2016. Still i suspect these indictments came out today to distract from another royal fuck-up by the FBI regarding the school shooting yesterday. (ICYMI They'd received a call about the shooter as recently as last month - Jan 5 - describing his behavior, violent postings and concern that he would shoot up a school.)

They also received a call about him on January 5th. I think today's 13 indictments are a distraction from another significant failure from the FBI.

Yeah, and since you brought it up, at least one of Ron Paul's former campaign guys was raided, and others arrested, when everyone knew that Rand Paul would be running for the nomination. The hearings were held off till campaign time. http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?502042-Blumenthal-email-to-B-Clinton-about-Rand-Paul-from-2010&p=6585856#post6585856

True, but the media always covers for the neocons. When it comes to the Pauls, they go way out of their way to twist and lie, so the public will believe they are evil.

They try to make it sound like it's a retiring couple who lost everything they'd spent a lifetime saving for, but I don't think it is. If everything they owned and all the money they'd ever saved only added up to $5000, they were doing a pretty poor job of making' it to begin with - or had not been living without parental support for very many years. It was an extremely unrealistic "dream" for them to have - and then, they didn't even bother to learn about sailing a boat first?! Not just foolish, probably border-line retarded. Maybe they're just hoping for a go-fund-me windfall. Wonder if the boat was insured?

Yep. I wouldn't want Rand to try this, because even if it were real and he could be kept safe - people connected to our own government would be happy to see his plane crash, or might pay some "rebels" to kidnap him. The story seems to be based entirely on one twitter post from who-really-knows-who, so it's not real credible. Seems more like a planted story, which neocons would like to be able to bring up later, when Rand is arguing against being in Afghanistan. Can't ya just hear Lindsey Graham and McCain already?

Is this for real? Is it just anti-Paul propaganda? I can see Lindsey Graham or McCain using it against Rand. Apparently the story was first reported yesterday by the Washington Times.

from this story: Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) "I don't know why we are basically burning time here while the senator from Kentucky and others are sitting in the cloakroom wasting everybody's time and inconveniencing the staff... (Paul) "will effectively shut down the federal government for no real reason." "grossly irresponsible" 'GOP leadership wouldn't "reward bad behavior."' Sen. John Thune (S.D.) "colossal waste of everyone’s time." "Well, he never gets a result. But he always—what can you say?"

Yeah, I'm waiting for the Pauls' names to start showing up in some pre-election(s) emails. In one of Ron Paul' recent videos, he is discussing entrapment and says something like, "I think I've seen some of that up close and it gets pretty ugly." And earlier in the video, he mentions how he has to watch what he says. Is this what happened with Jesse Benton, etc - just as Rand was to begin campaigning for 2016?? Weren't they acquitted at first and they had to dig up a way to retry them? And after the last(?) hearing was over, Benton said something about the law "still" being unclear, indicating that the FBI arrested them over how they went about doing the book/record keeping, and NOT because they knowingly chose to do something nefarious. If I recall correctly, at least one of the men involved was SWATed... and didn't it end up with Benton sentenced to some jail time? Is FBI Lying About 'Russiagate'? Go to around 13:20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0355Z_fuC0 To refresh memories, here's how the "Des Moines Register - Part of the USA Today Network" presented the story in early May of 2016.

Isn't there a rule that once these government workers resign, they can no longer be supoenaed? In other words, they're off the hook and can't be forced to give any information? I believe I heard Judge Napolitano say something like this. Anyone able to clarify? Wondering if he resigned by choice to avoid being questioned, or was more actually fired?
